I bet if Guardiola ever became Chelsea manager...and he was given a Barcelona kit, he'd sign it. In the same way, Rafa signed the Liverpool kit.

Just to point out, it was Benitez who signed Alonso from some mid table Spanish club, gave him the chance to improve as a player and Benitez reaped the rewards when Alonso started to hit his prime. I don't like the appointment of Benitez but you gotta live with it.

That's good news...if only we had a striker who could take advantage of Citeh's defence without Kompany.
-
Meh. Rafa is here and he's our coach, we might as well support him. It's not like posting quotes from 5 years ago is going to change the fact that Roman gave the job to Rafa.

True that. I think investing in a better DM would be a good option.
-
This. Our midfield lacks a proper high energy DM. Mikel is good but if we could get someone 'better', that would be awesome. I think we have 2 playmakers that have the ability to play deep in the future. 1. Oscar 2. De Bruyne. Hopefully in January, we can get a young, cheap CB with good qualities like Jores Okore and then in the summer, we could go after a real top-class CB like Hummels, that Greek dude playing for Schalke...etc.
-
I don't know about Rafa's relationship with Torres...but we all know Rafa loves his 'rotation' policy, hence Sturridge should get a few more chances as a striker or a winger.
-
Exactly. The lack of stability in terms of managers is going to make it hard to buy high profile players. Maybe we should stick to signing 'versatile' cheap players in January, add some much needed squad depth..and then whoever becomes the manager at the end of this season can decide to splash the cash on the appropriate players.
-
Oh, god. Torres is a cancer to this club.

Yea, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1221975/Rafa-Benitezs-229m-spending-spree-The-76-players-signed-Liverpool-managers-reign.html Rafa went through 76 players. The majority of the players were bought for 2 - 6 million...but he spent 19 million on an average Robbie Keane, spent 20 million on an injury-prone Aquilani..and also spent close to 12 million on Babel, who didn't even want to join Liverpool in the first place.

That was 4 years ago and you can't blame him for saying that, Anfield nights are always so passionate and memorable.

Every manager has to gain respect at a new football club. RDM wasn't the right person to lead Chelsea forward anyway, that was made clear by the board from day 1 of his managerial stint. Benitez is a decent manager, I never thought he'd coach Chelsea but at the end of the day, he's only here till the end of the season. We might as well support the guy.
-
The issue would be..who's gonna play the 'Alonso' role at Chelsea? The most likely option would be Oscar, sitting deep and trying to control the game.
-
His preferred formation was 4-2-3-1 during his time with Liverpool
-
Rafa used to hate Drogba, I think I remember in one of our many UCL battles with Liverpool, in the press conference, he said that he created an entire file about Drogba and his 'theatrical diving' on the pitch.
-
I'd play Cahill instead of Luiz. Other than that, I like that lineup.
-
It should be Juve, Celtic & Galatasaray as the final three teams to qualify.
-
Let's see how good Benitez is. I personally don't see him as an 'upgrade' on RDM.

DAMN...so we'll be stuck with Rafa for the rest of the season.

What the hell, why is there a Liverpool fan on the Chelsea forum?
