The way we played against City and Fulham was pathetic. I'm expecting a 1-0 loss.
-
Probably 10-15 million, only because he's an internationally recognised striker.
-
Maybe Marin would of played the through ball if Torres hadn't screwed up the pass to Marin in the first place. He passed the ball behind Marin..so Marin had to slow down, get the ball, which allowed Fulham to get 2-3 players back.
-
Are you like a Torres fan boy or a former Liverpool supporter? Cause no Chelsea fan could say that Torres was the best playmaker.
-
I bet when the opposing manager sees Torres' name of the team sheet, he has a massive smile on his face.
-
I see Falcao staying at Atletico....at least until the end of this season.
-
Rubbish game, Rubbish performance. Fulham looked more likely to get 3 points today.
-
I dont see Huntelaar as a big upgrade on Torres or Sturridge. Chelsea should just pay 20-25 million and try to get Lewandowski. He seems to have the skill set that would fit into our tactics. He's got good hold up play, he knows how to get his teammates into the game, he seems to be fairly good at finishing and decent pace.
-
He needs to keep developing at his current club. Hope he doesn't end up like Matej Delac (our on loan Croatian goalkeeper). He was touted as Croatia's next International keeper...then he joined Chelsea and ruined his career.
-
Expecting a 1-0 win for either team. If Sturridge is fit, hopefully he gets to play, watching Torres just stand around in the box just makes me sick. I think it was Alan Shearer who said that Torres' lack of movement makes it easier for the opposition's defence.
-
Overall, we managed a clean sheet and our counter attack looks good. The biggest problem is Fernando Torres. His lack of movement in the box is pathetic for a player that used to be recognized as one of the 'best' strikers in Europe.
-
I completely agree. Also, I don't think Luiz and Cahill will EVER be a good partnership. Whenever they play together, we have no 'leader' at CB, both of them are like headless chickens and we tend to leak 2-3 goals a game. If we wanna see Luiz develop into a solid defender who has the odd poor performance, he needs to play alongside someone like JT for a full two seasons.
-
When he finally starts playing in the first team, we'll have another option for the left-side of our attack. He'd be the perfect substitute in a tight match. Last 20-25 minutes, bring on Moses and/or Marin and let them run at tired defenders, try to make something happen.
-
Whats with all these Anti-Hazard posts? With the correct manager and tactics, Hazard should develop into a world-class player & possibly our best attacker in a few seasons. No offence to Oscar but I see his future as a CM and as for Mata, he's already great. Just imagine Mata, Hazard, Moses and a clinical striker playing together upfront in 2-3 seasons, the opposition's defence will be in serious trouble!
-
I dont know about reliable info...but according to the Telegraph: Hazard is going to get wages of £4.6 million a year net of tax, so around £9 million a year for his new employer. That averages out to be £170,000 a week.

Couldn't care less who Rafa plays. A win is what we need.

Chelsea lodge complaint about Clattenberg
Reddish-Blue replied to bababoom's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Don't know why we made a complaint in the first place. -
All three in the same window? That would be f**king awesome...but I doubt Porto are gonna let go of James anytime soon. Let's just get one of Falcao/Cavani and a proper DM/CM who can compete with Mikel, Rambo, Romeu.
-
You must really like Lewandowksi. The guy has talent and he's a good goalscorer, but I'd take Cavani, RvP, Falcao ahead of him anyday
-
Obviously Reus would be playing better, he's used to playing in the Bundesliga and Klopp's tactics play to his strengths. As for Willian, he's 24, he started to mature as a player from around last year and now he's capable of influencing a match at any level. Hazard has had a mixed first season in the EPL but I wouldn't say he has been disappointing. I remember when the Hazard transfer was confirmed, the Lille coach and a number of Hazard's Belgian teammates came out to the media and told them that although Hazard is a special talent, it will take him a season or two to find his feet in the EPL.
-
Ramires will be a good player...but I don't think he'll be able to replace Essien. Essien at his peak was the complete midfielder, he could basically play anywhere in midfield. As for Robbie not being the right guy...if you're under that much pressure as a manager, your first instinct will be to use the more experienced players rather than bring through youngsters from the academy/reserves. If you want a successful youth system, you need to give your manager at least a 2-3 year period where you will back him 100% (unless of course your club starts seriously crumbling).

That kid is a massive talent.
-
Just looking at Rafa in a Chelsea kit is weird. He's suited to the colour RED not Blue. I'm just glad he's only here as an interim manager.
-
I just read that article! So Roman and the board force RDM to use Torres...even though he never suited our style of play...and then, RDM gets the sack for not being able to bring the best out of Torres. When a player is finished, thats it. Unless he's a legend for the club, Sell him off and move on.
