  1. You gotta give credit to City, they know how to buy versatile strikers.. Jovetic could end up being the difference in the title race (assuming he stays fit)
  2. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11698/9438599/transfer-news-west-brom-sign-porto-winger-silvestre-varela-on-loan West Brom add Varela on loan from Porto
  3. Without a proper defensive/holding midfielder, how do you play 4-2-2-2?
  4. I was worried they would sign 2-3 of the Dutch national players (e.g. Blind, one of the CB's and De Jong) for relatively good prices But they're just wasting money. Shaw was never worth 30 million and Herrera won't be able to do much without a DM
  5. Damn, shouldn't have put Dummett on the bench for Ben Davies I wasn't expecting a Newcastle clean-sheet
  6. I don't think he cares if he's 'wanted'...he's getting 175,000 a week for doing absolutely nothing! Imagine if all our jobs were that easy, you could under-perform for multiple years and still get paid a strong salary, week after week after week...
  7. I like that signing. West Brom could use a bit of experience up-front
  8. Yeh, I would agree that Balotelli could go either way at Liverpool but in saying that, on his day, he is a match-winner.
  9. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-happy-sell-lukas-podolski-4081959 Galatasaray could sign Podolski for 12 million
  10. Getting a good #2 striker and getting rid of Torres in the same deal? if it happens, party-time! Also, Skipper, didn't you say you would run naked on your local street if Torres was sold in this window (or something along those lines)?
  11. I'd take Remy over Destro. He's PL-proven, already living in london, wants to play UCL football and has a different skill-set to Costa Not sure if QPR would sell him to us...but he would be a very nice addition
  12. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-sign-federico-fernandez-7642705 Federico Fernandez joins Swansea 7 million...not a bad deal for an international quality defender
  13. Doesn't affect Barcelona's transfer plans....getting a 1 year ban is actually a good thing. It makes you promote from within!
  14. If you end up being correct, party-time! :yay:
  15. If Mikel leaves, I'd be delighted with the addition of Carvalho.. Our DM spot would be secure for the next decade!
  16. Unless United are able to add Vidal to that midfield, they'll be struggling to finish top 6 Blind (assuming he passes the medical next week) and Rojo are solid signings but they don't look like influential players
  17. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11042545/Marcos-Rojo-confirms-he-has-joined-Manchester-United-and-that-it-feels-like-a-dream.html I'm surprised that United passed on the opportunity to sign William Carvalho...he could have been a big addition to their average midfield.
  18. Totally agree, I think he's off to Newcastle or Everton (they want a loan but City want to sell permanently) Not a bad addition for either side.
  19. so if one of Petr or Courtois doesn't leave, we're basically paying Schwarzer's wages for no reason?
  20. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/9427637/celtic-ready-to-sign-wakaso-mubarak-on-loan-from-rubin-kazan Celtic to sign Wakaso Mubarak
  21. I compared him to Ramsey, but that comparison was more to do with Ramsey stepping up as a player and becoming influential in the face of high criticism from fans and some pundits If Oscar can become more consistent and refine some elements of his game (as he matures both physically and mentally), it's safe to say every Chelsea supporter would be delighted!
  22. I remember ALOT of supporters criticising Ramsey in his early days at Arsenal but credit to the player, he put in extra time in the training ground, worked with former class midfielders and turned himself into a top-class CM. If Oscar can add to his game and become even 70% as influential as Ramsey, every Chelsea supporter would be delighted and we would be much better off as a team. As for United, out of the list you provided, I'd take Welbeck because he's homegrown and he would probably be useful as a striker/winger off the bench..
  23. Can you blame him though? If I remember correctly, didn't Boro's previous manager play him out of position half the time? If Josh said those things, it's a bit disrespectful to Boro...but then again, he was speaking the truth....Boro are just not that good at the moment..
