I'd take Remy over Destro. He's PL-proven, already living in london, wants to play UCL football and has a different skill-set to Costa Not sure if QPR would sell him to us...but he would be a very nice addition

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/swansea-city-sign-federico-fernandez-7642705 Federico Fernandez joins Swansea 7 million...not a bad deal for an international quality defender

Doesn't affect Barcelona's transfer plans....getting a 1 year ban is actually a good thing. It makes you promote from within!
-
If you end up being correct, party-time! :yay:

If Mikel leaves, I'd be delighted with the addition of Carvalho.. Our DM spot would be secure for the next decade!
-
Unless United are able to add Vidal to that midfield, they'll be struggling to finish top 6 Blind (assuming he passes the medical next week) and Rojo are solid signings but they don't look like influential players

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11042545/Marcos-Rojo-confirms-he-has-joined-Manchester-United-and-that-it-feels-like-a-dream.html I'm surprised that United passed on the opportunity to sign William Carvalho...he could have been a big addition to their average midfield.

Totally agree, I think he's off to Newcastle or Everton (they want a loan but City want to sell permanently) Not a bad addition for either side.

so if one of Petr or Courtois doesn't leave, we're basically paying Schwarzer's wages for no reason?

I compared him to Ramsey, but that comparison was more to do with Ramsey stepping up as a player and becoming influential in the face of high criticism from fans and some pundits If Oscar can become more consistent and refine some elements of his game (as he matures both physically and mentally), it's safe to say every Chelsea supporter would be delighted!
-
I remember ALOT of supporters criticising Ramsey in his early days at Arsenal but credit to the player, he put in extra time in the training ground, worked with former class midfielders and turned himself into a top-class CM. If Oscar can add to his game and become even 70% as influential as Ramsey, every Chelsea supporter would be delighted and we would be much better off as a team. As for United, out of the list you provided, I'd take Welbeck because he's homegrown and he would probably be useful as a striker/winger off the bench..
-
Can you blame him though? If I remember correctly, didn't Boro's previous manager play him out of position half the time? If Josh said those things, it's a bit disrespectful to Boro...but then again, he was speaking the truth....Boro are just not that good at the moment..

Hoping United lose....but good to see Shrek score! (need some FPL points)

http://www.calciomercato.com/news/roma-benatia-e-destro-non-giocano-e-sabatini-vola-a-londra-per-l-361063 I tried to translate some of the Italian into English and all I understood was that Destro to Tottenham is likely to be completed and Benatia to Chelsea "could" happen. Also, apparently Destro rejected Wolfsburg in favour of Tottenham (according to the article)

Yeh but Fabregas will get you the assists!
-
Decided to go with Fabregas, Diego Costa and Ramsey Hopefully Hazard doesn't play too well
-
Finally..some good news about McEachran Hope he impresses Mourinho (for a spot on the bench) or some other club's scout at Vitesse
-
Feel bad for Van Wolfswinkel, the guy has talent, can easily be a 15- goal a season striker in most leagues (should of stayed at Sporting Lisbon).

I think people on this forum were against the signing of Fabregas (me included) due to his 'history' with Lampard, rather than the fact that he's a former Arsenal player I mean, we signed Ashley Cole all those years ago and he turned out to be brilliant...at one point, he was the best LB in the world I don't mind players featuring for other clubs...but it hurts to see a club legend join a rival for 6 months
-
Yeh, I was thinking about Wickham because he offers something different to Bamford..and the added benefit is that he's homegrown. Absolutely agree about Solanke, kid looks promising, hopefully Jose has plans for him in the coming years

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/11/connor-wickham-west-ham-sunderland-bid Sunderland reject 5 million bid from West Ham for Wickham Maybe we should put in a bid for him? He's HG, 21, has the ability to play CF and out wide...

We'd be better off giving him a shorter-length contract. Something like 1 year with performance-related bonuses That way, if he stays fit and scores a few goals, we get productivity from our bench and he gets a nice bonus
