As good as Azpi has been the reason why I believe the clear winner should be Hazard is because his performances and goals have taken us to another level this season. Azpi has added stability and consistency in an unnatural position however without Hazard's individual piece of magic we probably would not be competing for the title. Stepped up on a complete level this season with goals and assists. Even he has been inconsistent in some games when he has performed he has been simply excellent and probably will be a contender to win the PFA player of the season as well but probably will fall short behind Suarez.
-
Excellent prospect and seems level headed. I reckon it is best for him to stay put where he will get regular minutes. I doubt he would even want to move here unless Everton cannot ignore the fee but really he is at a good club with an excellent manager who may play CL footy next season and he will develop well there. Don't think he will and should leave. He is thriving at a good enough team.
-
tbh he has been the only decent player. Was his fault for third goal but he has been decent and let down. Even the commentators said, he is the only one who really offered anything today. He is just in a poor team tbh.
-
Is one of the best crossers I have seen as a fullback for a while. Would be a shrewd signing if we could get him on a free. Quite strong defensively as well.
-
Boom! What a goal. Being played out wide as well and has been a handful. Turning into quite a big game player as well. Drogba was their first nightmare now Lukaku is their second! Are you watching Jose

My nominations: 1. Eden Hazard 2. Cesar Azpilicueta 3. Gary Cahill

Oscar is a good player but we look so much more fluid with Willian in the no.10. Much faster, explosive and look much more threatening going forward. Would like to see him or Hazard in that role more flanked by the wingers. When we are going in the counter with for instance Hazard, Willian and Salah we can absolutely slaughter teams. Good win though. What a game for Salah. My MOTM. Settled well on his first start for the team and scored 1 and created the other 2. Brilliant me. He will get better next season as well. This is just a glimpse of him so far. We have another potential star here in Salah. He is only 21 and has proved against us how devastating he can be in the UCL and has scored many goals on the international stage already. Really liked what I have seen from him. Defence was superb again. Nice to see Willian get on the scoresheet as well as due to his hefty price tag, a lot of people have understandably questioned his goal and assists return. Today he was simply excellent though and scored a peacher. I am not worried about Willian though. I have seen enough of him this season to know he has added quality to this team and next season I am sure we will see more from him. Pace, acceleration and excellent balance. On to the next one!
-
Decent half. Salah looks good. Matic long range passing is excellent. Torres has been good but again lack of strikers instinct is clear. He should of been anticipating Willian's cross but he took too long to make a run at the far post. You need to think sometimes Torres. But apart from that good. Expect us to finish them of second half. Just a matter of time. Sometimes the ground really does sound like a memorial service though. Complete silence sometimes.
-
Where the hell did you get that from? The team is: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry ©, Azpilicueta; Lampard, Matic; Schurrle, Willian, Salah, Torres. #CFC
-
Already one PL goal behind Torres. Embarrassing but shows that when he is played in his preferred position he will come up with the goods. Two games in the no.10 position and three goals.
-
Why not? It is at Anfield and with Suarez and Sturridge fit they can beat anyone. Especially on their own field. They dismantled Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham at Anfield. They could easily beat City there.
-
Do I think we will win the league? No tbh. Is it realistic? Yes. City can easily flop up at Anfield and Goodison Park. Maybe more if we are lucky. Liverpool have City to play and us and don't think West Ham will be easy. We can take advantage of those fixtures and win our games. Very possible but it is a matter of if but if we put our minds to it every game we have upcoming is possible to win.
-
The thing is though if he could not get ahead of Ba and Torres initially who had done nothing to warrant a start and were shit then Jose brings Eto'o along it was pretty obvious he was going to get frustrated. Even as the season went on Jose probably would of realised he would of had to start him but he was not trusted ahead of the aforementioned two in the first place he probably thought there was no chance of playing when Eto'o came. The reason why I reckon Jose is equally to blame for Lukaku's departure because one he never started him in games where I believe he warranted a start and two, Lukaku said many times at the beginning of the season that he will fight for his spot but although it was pre-season, what else do you have to do show that he should of been in the starting line up in at least one of the four games? I can understand why he asked for a loan move. Pre-season was a platform to impress Jose and he did so him moving to Everton was probably his way to show Jose I am ready to be your no.1 striker.
-
Well I say treat both as equally. We are fighting for both and I reckon Jose will treat game by game as the most important. Play our best team against Stoke. Couple or three changes possibly and that is about it. Might only have 3 days rest but any attempts to get complacent with our team selection against Stoke might just backfire which is why I am sure Jose will persist with the same back 4 and the likes of Hazard. Maybe Ba will start but right now I see the PL as much more realistic and that is what I think should be our priority as it is our next game.
-
There is one thing resting and there is another thing rotating. MVG and Kalas will definitely not play. That is ludicrous. Not going to happen. I still expect to see Hazard start as well as right now the PL is much more realistic than the CL.
-
Lukaku was willing to fight for his place initially but after being left out the line up for 4 games in a row despite scoring most of our goals in pre-season I think he saw what road it was going down. I don't think it was a simple case of him not willing to compete. I think Jose may of indicate he might not get as much starts as he wishes and due to being a world cup year etc, both manager and player probably agreed it will be best where he is starting every game rather than be a pit part player here as Jose obviously thought he had 3 capable strikers of doing the job, which proved wrong.
-
You can't be serious. Thanks god Mourinho does not have the thinking as you or the season would be a disaster. We are chasing the league title and you are going to play MVG who has just returned from a 6 month injury and drop Terry for a player who has not started a game for us this season? Really smart thinking. This is not a friendly game you know. This is a competitive football match which we should be taking seriously
-
Might be red but I think the goalkeeper kit is absolute class. Loving it!
-
We need to win this game if we want to keep our title chances alive. Recent matches between us two at the Bridge would suggest this is a game we should win but a bit more sceptical of this game. They are improving under Hughes and even when they have lost it has mainly been by narrow scorelines. In fact they have only lost 1 of their last 9 games and that was a narrow 1-0 loss to City away from home. Quite a run they have been on and we are going to need to be clinical if we want to beat them as they have proved they are a much tougher proposition now.
-
I say Motta as well tbh. I thought he was excellent and he just dictated the game second half. Think he was successful with almost every pass he made and can see why he is key to your team. But yes I still feel at the Bridge we will definitely be motivated. We have been in this situation before and that will spur the players on and being at home will motivate the players. But I expect an enthralling second leg tbh and those who are writing us off are being very naïve as we have shown in many occasions that we can do comebacks and perform on the big stage.
-
Would be absolutely gutted if we let him go. Like people say Courtois could be our no.1 for the next two decades, Lukaku can be a key player for us for the next decade. You don't get much strikers as talented as him at his age. I hope these rumours are false. Selling him would be ludicrous. Even he has things to work on, that is fine, he is young but we shouldn't sell him. Regardless if he has spoke out of turn he got 17 PL goals last season and is on his way to surpassing that this season. He gets goals. I would hate to see him go to a rival club but at the same time will hate to see him be sold to anyone even abroad. In a few years time we are going to see him being a total beast whoever he is at and really that should be us. But while is agent may say he is in talks with other clubs about Lukaku I will only read more into it from until I hear from Jose but would totally not make sense selling a striker who is good for most PL clubs now and is only 20. Like WTF? We do set are selves up to be the laughing stock of the league with the way we deal with some of our players.
-
Let's be honest though. If we had brought on Mikel at 2-1 then conceded we would of get man saying things like "why was Jose so defensive and hoping that a 2-1 loss would win us the tie"? We can't have things both ways. We were losing the game and while it may of helped the defence our aim still should of been to equalise. Can you imagine if Mikel was brought on at 2-1 then we conceded another? All hell would break lose on here. I am not stating you would of said this but a majority imo would of stated Mourinho was complacent and too defensive in bringing on Mikel. And to be honest with you the third goal we conceded was not due to a lack of a Mikel. It was just sloppiness and complete unawareness by the defence from a throw in.
-
No. It was Mourinho's. It is ridiculous that people state Lukaku made the choice. Mourinho obviously could not guarantee him game time ahead of Torres and Eto'o and because Ba stayed he decided to grant him a loan which has cost us now when you think about it. Some of the biggest clubs would love to have Hazard. If PSG or Real bid for Hazard in the summer and he states he wants to go will it happen at a heartbeat? No, because Mourinho sees him as a key player and in the end of the day makes the decision. So in the end it was Mourinho's decision, not Lukaku's. Lukaku is the footballer, Mourinho is the manager!
-
Ibra is a big loss on paper for PSG if he is indeed out but even when he went off tonight they improved and to be honest with you for the second leg them going with Lavezzi, Cavani and Lucas poses much more of a threat because they have a two goal lead and most likely will sit back and counter. The aforementioned 3 are perfect players for them to use on the counter with their pace/acceleration and we may have problems dealing with that. We are going to do more of the attacking and one slip up may just result in a goal for them and being against those 3 on the counter is a frightening prospect. Either way the tie is not finished and still believe we can do it.

Ramires to get a second yellow. You saw it here first. The timer has been set. The bomb just needs to go off now. A time ticking bomb Ramires is I tell you.
