  1. There is always a debate on whether he is going to score goals against teams that park the bus. Some people like me think he will do it whilst others think he will struggle. Simple solution: Give him a chance. Also no way am I reading into the assumption that it was all Lukaku who pressed for the move. Like I said if Jose really saw him as a key player for his team he would of insisted he stayed but I reckon it was kind of mutual and Jose could not guarantee him starts. Think about it. We had 4 games before Eto'o even joined. Hull: played remaining 15 minutes (I expected him to start because he was our most prolific striker in pre-season and was our most inform striker in domestic level. Even though it was at a lower club against teams who 'don't park the bus' he still done more than the strikers we had on offer but who starts? Torres....) Villa: Sub again. Comes on around the 60th minute mark. United: Does not even come on and we have a winger playing upfront... Bayern: Ok. We have now had 3 games where none of our strikers have looked convincing but once again finds himself on the bench and guess what. We sign Eto'o as well. I don't call that being given a proper chance and with Eto'o being brought in and him not starting a game, he had all rights to be concerned. He said right from the beginning of the season he wanted to fight for his place but when you go 4 games without starting when you know you are miles better than Torres and Ba, who can blame him for wanting to leave when Eto'o arrived. If Mourinho saw him as a vital part of his plans he would have reassured Lukaku for sure. That did not happen and he has scored goals once again like most of us knew he would. He could have stayed around but in no way was he weak minded. He just needed to show Mourinho what he is capable of. Now like I was saying I hope he is around next season so he can show he scores goals against teams that park the bloody bus
  2. This goal was my goal of the season tbh. Surprised this did not get a nomination. Was simply fantastic:
  3. Reminds me of Lampard in his prime. Every time I see him play you just have a feeling he will come up with a goal. Looking forward to see what next season holds for him.
  4. He won't be but he will be at a team fighting for all major trophies and he still will get his games. Who knows, if he is lucky might even partner Costa up front. But on our perspective we need reliable strikers and if that means keeping him here then so be it. City have clinical strikers as do Liverpool. We need them now as well.
  5. 11 of his 15 PL goals have come in the second half this season. Says a lot. Perfect back up/impact striker needed for us and on top of that he hopefully will get some starts to. Costa and Lukaku next season. Yes please!
  6. You are thinking way too much about the idea of youths featuring this match. Kiwomya, Feruz, Hutchinson and most of the other youths are not going to be involved. Kiwomya is one for the future but you won't see him near the first team for a while yet. Same with the other two. It is a game Mourinho will want to go out on a high so he will field out a very strong team. You might see brief appearances for Baker and Swift possibly but in the actual 11 I would only expect Kalas to start from the current 'youngsters'.
  7. Rumours like this are completely unfounded. For a start I know Thorgan Hazard will go out on loan again next season. As soon as I read Hazard in that list I knew not to take that seriously because I think it is quite obvious he goes out on loan in a better league next season. Don't get your hopes up with any rumours like this unless you hear it from Mourinho's mouth himself.
  8. I was refering to 'MrBlueGuy'. But yes we were very close to glory but have fallen short which is dissapointing. Next season we will have a trophy for sure but by no means a disaster.
  9. Yeah, not denying that. Just stating that we can't say Ancelotti has had a bad season when he has just fallen short of the league (it looks like) and has won our equivalent of the FA Cup and still might win the UCL which would cap a fantastic season.
  10. I like Willian a lot and think his stats bring harsh criticism as imo he has done well and next season I think we will see a lot more from him in terms of goals and assists for sure but I would not link him getting into Brazil with form tbh. He has done well but players like Julio Cesar have virtually played most of this season without any first team football yet will find himself as no.1 keeper. Diego Alves does not even get in there. Maxwell gets in ahead of Filipe Luis while players like Henrique are in ahead of Miranda. The manager of Brazil seems to pick players based on how he feels they fit the national team rather than based on actual club form. Heard it from other people as well. A main Brazilian football researcher who told me that players picked are never based on meritocracy but instead other factors. Can't be asked to mention them. No discrediting Willian though. Just reiterating that I doubt it club form that influences who is picked but on the other hand if Willian was awful he probably would be sitting at home this summer.
  11. Yes but they can also end the season with the Champions League in Ancelotti's first season in charge there.
  12. FAYC champions Without Boga and Kiwomya as well. Arguably our 2 most important players in this youth cup team. Solanke has so much potential. It is frightening. He is not even old enough to be considered a 1st year scholar yet. He still has 2 more years left of playing in this tournament. Same with the likes of Dasilva, Musonda and Colkett as well IIRC. The talent we have in our youth ranks is amazing. That Roberts guy of Fulham was very impressive to. 3rd time in 5 years we have won this competition. Excellent
  13. Mate, don't think I was having a go at you. I was simply making the same point as The Skipper. I wouldnt say we played entertaining football as a whole this season. I would say we have done what is necessary to win the game. This is nothing to do with the big games btw. I am talking about games against lower opposition teams. Do I think the football could have been better? Yes. Mix and match for me. Some games we have entertained and some others we have been a bit more cautious in our approach. My point about Arsenal was not a dig at you. I was mocking Arsenal mate. Don't take offense to that. However some of the stuff you mentioned is complete rubbish and overboard. I have not ever "demanded success". I have always said as a whole I am content with the season. Annoyed about the league because we won all the big games but flopped up in the ones we should have won. Where have you got any proof to say I am one of those who demand success. Chill out seriously. Yes, we have challenged for the league and fallen just short but like I said we are ending the season trophyless and most likely 3rd place. That is no way an overachievement let alone an achievement. But it has been a solid season where we have provided a solid stepping stone for next season. I still don't agree with your reasons for saying we overachieved. Does not make sense to me. If I had been demanding success you would have seen me saying this season is a failure. In the actual poll I voted that this season was neither a failure or a success.
  14. I agree with some of the stuff you said here but to say we "overachieved" is stretching it. Have we had a decent season and improved from last season? Of course but you can't say we overachieved when we are likely to finish 3rd whereas most people this season would of assumed it would have been us and City battling it out for first and second place. UCL, we got to the semis, definitely an improvement but could we have got to the final? Yes, but unfortunately not but we certainly done the best out of all the British teams. FA Cup got knocked out and same with Carling cup. So we are likely to end the season trophyless. No way am I saying we overachieved. I don't settle of Arsenal's mentality of 'finishing top 4 as a decent season'. I expect more but on the other hand while his football may piss people off we now have (hopefully) a stable manager for the next 5+ years who will improve the team as the years go on and like yourself and Mourinho said this is a transition season and that is why I will not say we underachieved as well but if have had a decent/solid season. Next season onwards I am sure we will go from strength to strength and hopefully regain our league title.
  15. That is a stupid question. I was born in London and have a Jamaican flag. Do you know how offensive that sounds even though you might not have intended it to be? Many members here may be born in a certain country but have another flag. My whole family is Jamaican and most of them born there but I was born here. I feel more Jamaican for that reason. Is that a problem?
  16. He might be controversial but MrExcalibur is stating facts. Mourinho is despised by other rival fans. Just look at the comments on skysports and goal for instance when we lost our match against Atletico. People rejoice at us failing. I am not bothered because I don't care what other people think. But he is spot on. Wenger has not won anything for years at Arsenal but like people have said he has done a brilliant job over the years when you consider the resources they have compared to Mourinho. Like it or not it does look like Wenger will win a trophy this season with Mourinho trophyless. But I was looking the reactions when we lost against Sunderland, Atletico and compared it with teams such as Arsenal and he lost much more respect when he slated Wenger. Other fans/teams just hate us/Mourinho. I also think that is part of the reason Enrique of Liverpool made that jibe against us when we lost to Atletico. Mourinho is generally hated by non-Chelsea fans. I respect him as I think he is a world class manager even though some of his antics annoys me. But just wanted to state that people need to stop casually throwing around him being a "fake fan". Comments like that. He may be controversial but his aforementioned post is spot on. Can't see how others disagree.
  17. Most of his goals have been fantastic, well taken strikes tbh.
  18. Last game of the season. I would like to see us go out on a high so would still like to see a very strong team out there. Play couple of the youngsters if necessary but not too many U21s. I would like to finish above Arsenal on points and not goal difference so hopefully we still see a good team out and finish the season of with a win.
  19. Mourinho just said the team who needs to survive did not play to win bloody hypocrite. Excellent manager but the BS he sprouts out is quite ridiculous and hypocritical really. They basically done the same plan against us what we done against Liverpool. I am not worried though. Next season we will be back with a bang but irritates me that the games we should be winning easily have let us down. Such a shame because with our record against the top 4 teams we should be leading that table. Back to the match not much to say apart from disappointing to think we could not get 1 past Norwich. MOTM goes to Cahill. Cole was equally excellent.
  20. Can't believe we are struggling to break down a team who have last their last 7 games in a row. A United team managed by Giggs were 3-0 up at this stage.
  21. It was a good decision. Looked like a penalty. Close replays showed the ref was spot on.
  22. It is ridiculous how blinded people are. How the hell is he overrated? 17 PL goals last season. 14 PL goals this season. Yet people are forgetting he has done this all at the age of 19/20. In the end of the day he scored goals. Something we have been crying out for. He has flaws but who doesn't at his age. He will get better with age and time. I think people underestimate his hold up play. He has played a very important role. Like I have said before I would rather listen to Martinez who described him as the "complete striker" IIRC. He has been the one watching him and managing him this season and he realizes how integral Lukaku is to his team's plan. The way people are so quick to bash our players if bloody ridiculous. What else does he have to do to fucking show he needs a chance. He scores in big games and once again has got into double figures. I am not stating he should be our no.1 but he would be more than capable of being a back up/rotational striker here. If trusted, he will be around better players next season in a more stable team all around and I am sure he will come up with the goods. Your first sentence sums it up. He is a kid. How many kids do you see doing what he does at his age? Not much. Think. He will be unstoppable in a few years. You won't appreciate what you had until it is gone. If we sell him I am sure we will regret it in a few years as we are going to see one of the best strikers around as he will improve. Having a striker like him at his age is a bonus. Can't believe the extent of the criticism he receives sometimes. Utterly ridiculous.
  23. What a contrast. His goal is way in the lead of votes
  24. Speak what your eyes witnessed and not your ears. The commentators on SS said he was on. He is level. Osman, I think was in an offside position. Lukaku is on mate.
