Not sure about playing Ramires as one of the double pivot. Need to have one of them as the passer, one who can control possession, dictate the game and switching play from one side to the other. Mikel can't do that, Ramires is not that type of player and while Lampard can do that to a certain extent, he's not quite mobile enough these days to be playing there everytime, certainly not against the big teams anyway if we look to attack them.

Not sure if he will be as effective playing on the right as he is on the left. AVB played him on the right a couple of times IIRC last season and he didn't exactly shone in those games.

It maybe pre-season but not showing commitment and that bit more desire by using "it's only pre-season" as an excuse is just pure BS. A very lazy excuse at that. IF that was the first or second game, then fine but it wasn't. We have a lot more players this season and none of them have exactly played and staked a strong claim in the first team. And no reason not to do well with Mata. Not being able to keep and pass the ball and defend properly certainly has nothing to do with that! Don't think anyone in their right mind would expect us to play like Barcelona but really though, what is our style of play under RDM so far? We are neither dominating and constantly putting a team under pressure NOR playing on the counter. We just seem to be doing a bit both at the moment.

Bar everyone that is at the Olympics, I'm expecting a full strength lineup here in preparation for the City game the week after. Have to get back to winning ways and do so convincingly!
