He's only saying that because The Football League always have a go at the bigger clubs for fielding weaker sides and 'not taking the cup seriously'. The scheduling of the fixture 2 days after a massive game vs. City completely contradicts everything they have said. If they want clubs to take it seriously, give them adequate time to prepare for the game. Mourinho is just playing on the fact that they fucked up, we won't play U21's.

Very good player. A bit like Oscar in a sense that he's not flashy but he can be extremely effective. Haven't seen much of Atletico this season but I hear he's been even better than last year.

Easy to say you'd take a limited striker that scores goals but a limited striker wouldn't survive in our system. How many teams actually play with a 'fox in the box' nowadays? Football has moved on from these type of players. But I agree that if you scoring goals on top being a good all round player then that's fantastic. I just get the impression sometimes with fans that they are stuck in the past a bit and if a striker is not scoring then he must be awful. The guy sitting behind me yesterday was saying Eto'o had done 'fuck all' all game. This was before he scored but I really wonder what people are watching sometimes.

It's Thiago Silva & Luiz simply because their styles compliment eachother. T.Silva and Dante are at their best as reactive CBs partnered with Luiz the aggressor. It's more a case of Silva or Dante than Dante or Luiz IMO.

So they highlighted his performance on MOTD. I expect atleast another year of people claiming he's a liability now no matter how well he plays.

I agree I don't really see having Eden as captain as much of a gamble. But I saw your comment previously suggesting that he will eventually come good, and you choose the correct week! I brought in Willian and put Oscar on the bench, because I knew Oscar would be saved for Schalke + the amount of games he's played & int.travelling. I consider that a gamble, but it backfired in the end with Oscar scoring.

Also pretty sure he mentioned a while back that if Bale went for £85m, then Pogba is worth the same. Not a chance with this one.

You do realise that KdB is around the same age as most of our attacking midfielders? Not sure why age comes into it, say if de Bruyne played instead of Schuerrle. 'You think he would walk in to Dortmund's team with Reus, Mikhitaryan and Blaszczyowski around?' He'd have a better chance for sure. After all, Dortmund wanted de Bruyne first and after Jose said he isn't going anywhere they moved onto Mikhitaryan. Would he even be at Dortmund if they signed de Bruyne?

Mikel + Lampard are too static for a game as fast paced as this. Should really be more than 1 goal down. Cole getting caught upfield (again), Lampard nowhere to be seen, and Mikel ball watching again. They really need to get it together or Spurs could end up getting a few more on the counter.

This. The only one ball watching here was Mikel, and then Cole when the ball was recycled back down the right. There is absolutely no need for THREE of our players closing down one of their players, Mikel should've been aware of the players behind him, simple. I have no problem with Luiz coming out in this instance. Only him and Schuerrle spotted the danger and both tried to prevent it. If the ball was played to no.11 and he burst into the box unchallenged people would be complaining at how much space he was afforded. Jamie Redknapp had very similar comments about Luiz, which I think is extremely harsh. It was a well worked goal by Everton in the end, but they only played off our mistakes as a whole.
