  1. The only way I'd be ok with Luiz leaving is if: - He wanted to leave - We already have a replacement lined up If he leaves and we start bidding for like 10 CBs I'd be furious. But then again, we are the only team in England that doesn't sell our best players, so not much reason to worry just yet.
  2. I remember watching this tournament live at the time. Belgium also had Benteke playing IIRC
  3. Sorry if this has been asked before, but is the match against AS Roma our last pre-season match before Hull?
  4. The master of getting his toe to the ball before the onrushing challenge
  5. Dempsey look's like he's heading to Seattle very soon. If Bale goes to I have an eerie feeling that they will break the bank to sign someone like Draxler/Lamela
  6. This has to be the most intense pre-season friendly ever. Tackles flying in everywhere, everyone running around like there's no tomorrow
  7. Fantastic goal. MvG, Moses, Oscar. Brilliant.
  8. Oscar is good at everything but a master of nothing (which isn't a bad thing). He also has an awkward style which reminds me of Thomas Mueller, who also has similar traits.
  9. Was watching Prem years yesterday, 08/09 season. Fabregas got a similar injury where he extended his knee and was in pain, but walking afterwards. He was out for 3 months following that. You never know with these injuries, could be a couple of weeks or months.
  10. If the latter half of the season is anything to go by, then for me Torres' hold up play is still better than Lukaku's (not that either are amazing in that aspect). Torres in the first half of the season was probably the most frustrating player ever, everything just bounced off of him, clumsy dribbles and so on. There's a reason we are after Rooney as he offers that composure in the final third that we really lack. A completely different option to Lukaku but that doesn't mean Romelu still can't improve this side of his game.
  11. He looks very tidy so far. I'd still like to see him in a more box-to-box role when Mikel comes back though.
  12. They've replaced the ego's on massive wages with good players, an upgrade in my book.
  13. I don't think he is either, but it's annoying hearing the constant stories being made up trying to unsettle him.
  14. Why do you guys think it's taking so long for him to sign a new contract/club to offer him one? Hopefully he signs soon to put the rumours to bed.
  15. I don't think the club or Mourinho would've come out and said anything at this stage if the stories about Mata & Luiz being involved didn't come up.
  16. Good buy but slightly overpriced at £21m imo. The figure in January when we were linked was around £15m IIRC.
  17. Solid run out for them. Hoping for some of the same 2nd half, and more importantly no injuries!!
  18. That tweet followed this: FIFA.com ‏@FIFAcom17hQUESTION: Some huge potential transfers are currently being discussed. Who would you like to see move where before the window closes?
  19. These sort of options will certainly be a dent to Moses' dream of playing for Barca But seriously, so excited to see the destruction our attacking trio's can cause, whoever ends up starting. Exciting times.
  20. ^ I reckon Dzeko will still go if they sign Negredo. For me it's a definite improvement on what they had, removing 3 players on massive wages & frequent problems off the pitch (Tevez & Balotelli).
  21. I don't see why that is facepalm worthy in all honesty. The role of a 'specialist' is dying out in football and the demand of a player that can do it all is much much higher now. Oscar has more going for him in a tactical sense than Mata. Look at Bayern this year, every player had to contribute to both attack and defence, they didn't need any players in specialist roles because the team as a whole worked as a cohesive unit and covered the space & applied pressure expertly, reminisce of Sacchi's old Milan team. There's been a growing trend where clubs are now seeking the midfielders that can do it all, and is probably why they are so expensive right now. Just look at Martinez last year, Fernandinho, Witsel, Paulinho, Illarramendi recently.
