I love this new Ramires we are seeing, consistent and better first touch, more consistent passer, seems a bit stronger. Jose has obviously worked with him over the summer. Ramires v Villa: 104 passes, 94% pass accuracy, 1 key pass and 4 tackles won.

Im guessing......... Cech Azpi - Luiz - Terry - Cole Ramires - van Ginkel De Bruyne - Oscar (Mata hopefully rested for Utd clash) - Hazard Ba

Totally agree about their signings, Paulinho and Capoue are both excellent options in the middle of the park to go along with what they already had with Dembele and Sandro, who you could say were the best midfield pairing last season (when both were fit). Chadli is another interesting player which gives them more options on the wing and Soldado is a proven goalscorer, he will get 15-20 goals minimum for Spurs. Can also see the likes of Sigurdsson improving from last year along with Holtby too so even if they lose Bale they will be stronger than last season. If they replace Bale with Willian as well then Levy, AVB and Baldini have done very very well in the transfer market. They could do with a CB though and if Arsenal don't spend then Spurs will probably push them out of the top 4. Still Willian isn't needed here no more, we have enough attacking midfield players for the season. Hes a very good player but still I don't think hes better than Mata and Hazard.

No way would Shaw be first choice........ Cole and even Bertrand have much more experience on him, I mean much much more experience. Bertrand has played nearly 200 championship games and however many PL games here now, few England caps, Champions League winner, Europa League and well Ashley Cole is Ashley Cole, 100+ England caps, PL winner, FA cup winner, CL winner, Europa League winner.......

WOOOOOOOO finally the fist competitive game of the season, 3-0 Chelsea
-
Hes 29. No way. If we are to sign any older striker than Rooney, I'd prefer it was Eto'o who has valuable experience at top top clubs like Barcelona and Inter Milan.
-
Barca are still cunts, its about time they realised that you cannot 'tap up' players, let alone Chelsea players, who do they think we fucking are? Arsenal? Pfffffffffft
-
Same with a lot of national teams. Scotland have had James Morrison, English born, Shaun Maloney, born in Malaysia, and Phil Bardsley, born in England, playing for them. Germany have a few Turks and Poles in their team, Podolski, Ozil, Khedira, Klose... Portugal had Deco (born in Brazil) playing for them for many years, Pepe is also a regular for them, born in Brazil... Higuain born in France, plays for Argentina.... P.S referring to yourself in third person is twatish.

Sami Khedira and Burak Yilmaz

30 yard screamer? Hes not scored for like 4 years, why do you think his hair is like that... wouldn't cut it until he scores... still hasn't happened.
-
ahahaha dont say that might have to kill you... oh wait hes already seen it.... awkward. Anyway in response to your question, it could many things. I heard a Joey Barton interview from when he was at Marseille last year and he was speaking with a French twang as such. I suppose its just about where you are, if you were British and lived in America you'd pick up the slang and probably be used to hearing the accent more and after 10 years or so maybe you'd begin to pick it up. My cousin moved down to Glasgow from here years ago and he came back up here 2 or 3 years ago when a relative died and was speaking with a proper Glasgweigan accent, it was unbelievable, his sister though hadn't picked up the accent.

I am surprised Lambert had done so well for Southampton in the PL last year but like Holt its fair to say you have to see how he does next year as well. Remember Holt scored a lot for Norwich before struggling last season and now hes playing for Wigan. I agree hes a different sort of player, good technically, strong, bit different for an English striker as he is very good technically. I don't see a big club going for him though same with Holt last summer.
-
You have to consider hes coming towards the end of his career now though, hes 33 or something now isn't he, the season Inter won the CL he was immense, people thought it was weird to pay 30m for him a year beforehand but he fully justified that tbh with some big performances (you as an Inter fan will be able to acknowledge that) ! Hes got a solid goalscoring record everywhere hes been. His brother Gabriel though, before injuries ruined him, he was a good defender...
-
What do you mean do a Diego Militio, Milito was always good. Just never played for a big enough club until 2009.....

Fuck me this thread is kicking off, close it down............

Was sarcasm haha, I've never seen Baines do a goal line clearance...
-
I'm a huge fan of his too. I'd say if he had the experience Cole has had here and at Arsenal he'd be nailed on to start for England. Still think Ashley's experience edges it perhaps. He'd be an ideal replacement for Ash but I think we'll look at Luke Shaw as Baines is 28 this year IIRC.
-
In a way I agree that he'll probably become the new scapegoat haha although there have been moments where hes gotten a lot of abuse for the right reasons, Marcelo's goal against Madrid, Benteke's goal vs Villa and Kenny Miller's goal tonight shows that he is really average. Decent back up defender nothing special.
-
I suppose Baines is very consistent... he just lacks that goal line clearance ability Ashley has..
-
130k p/w in pounds, I can't see Gustavo getting that at Wolfsburg.
-
It is but you can understand if that was say a 90-100% fit Rooney (who knows Sir Alex said he struggled with his fitness last summer and he could have again this summer) because if we are gonna sign him for anything over 30m then it will look really bad haha.
-
Incredible feat for the young guy, hes what 17? 2 goals vs Morocco for Burkina Faso... man I just hope we do sign him
-
If thats a fit Wayne Rooney he can stay the fuck away from Chelsea.

Scotland can be proud of how they played. Don't think if I was English I'd be celebrating a 3-2 win over Scotland too much though, England were quite shocking. They tried to play through the midfield and it doesn't work when you have 3 players who are all really box to box players of sorts (Gerrard, Lampard/Wilshere, Cleverley), with no Carrick there was a big problem in there for England, no penetration from midfield really except for Walcott's goal. Wilshere couldn't get between the lines as Scotland were so deep and well organized, Gerrard sat deep most of the time and Cleverley was just Cleverley (useless really). England lack a leader in defense... (cough JT, COUGH) Yes Scotland weren't quite Spain but when we got possession some of play was good, it was nothing spectacular but it was encouraging to see as the Scotland I remember all too easily played crappy long ball football to Kenny Miller but still we are a country ranked outside of the top 50 in the world, England are in the top 10 maybe even top 5.... Anyway from a Chelsea point of view, Cahill had another shocker loool, Lampard came on didn't do too much bar a very good shot which McGregor saved. I hope to god Cahill doesn't play as bad as that for us this season because against anyone and I mean anyone (Kenny fucking Miller.....) done him too easily. P.S how good was Leighton Baines btw?
-
Yeah Oscar seems to suit that #10 role more than anybody in the squad. De Bruyne is decent there, its just he doesn't work hard enough off the ball and some of the times he doesn't drop to get the ball as much as Oscar. De Bruyne's crossing is superb, he should play on the right, especially with crossing like his.
