  1. If Luiz has agreed to move to Barca then he can fuck off. Barca are cunts.
  2. Spurs will probably have the best MF in the PL if they get Capoue in. Capoue, Sandro, Dembele, Holtby, Paulinho.... all good international players for top footballing nations. Still say they lack a Modric like player but I think Holtby can be that player if utilized deeper. The fact that you look at Capoue, Sandro, Dembele and Paulinho, all four of them are very big physically imposing lads too, they are gonna be a nightmare to play against.
  3. We will win this. Hazard vs Carjaval? The lad is a decent prospect, but in all fairness even if Hazard can't be arsed he will destroy him, hes that good. If they don't play Carjaval and go for Arbeloa instead its fair to say Arbeloa is fucked. If De Bruyne plays on the right and they play Marcelo then there is definitely space for Kevin to exploit. Also Ronaldo doesn't track back very much too so it leaves more space for us to exploit. Even Moses on the right could cause problems, with the space Marcelo will leave behind him we can cause them problems on both flanks. Oscar playing centrally in my eyes is a must. His working back will be vital in preventing Illarramendi from controlling the tempo. Illarramendi is good but tbh I still think Alonso is their best MF player by a sheer mile. He may lack mobility but he is so good at passing the ball and breaking up opposition play. Ramos at CB is a weakness for Madrid, against someone of Lukaku or Ba's strength I feel he will struggle. Lukaku's frightening turn of pace too along with his sheer power will give him a hell of a time. Varane as high as I rate him will probably look a bit shaky against a big presence as he did against Drogba in the CL last season. Will they use Pepe or Varane though I don't know. If we don't play Ramires and van Ginkel in the middle I feel Isco/Ozil whoever plays in the hole will exploit a partnership of Lampard and Ramires/Mikel/Essien. Lampard should not be started in these sort of games, possibly if we need a goal we could call on him but maybe thrown on as a sub where he can possibly score a goal or whatever. How do you stop Ronaldo? Have Ramires, Azpi and De Bruyne kick the shit out of him on the right side. Get stuck right into him really early, United put Jones on him in their 2 CL games and the fact he was constantly trying to get stuck in on him it kind of lessened his influence on the games. Hes dangerous as we have seen but still if you don't give him all the fucking time in the world and get stuck into him hes not going to like it. If I remember rightly, in the Luis Gustavo thread the video of Gustavo vs Madrid shows him getting stuck in on Ronaldo at every opportunity, we need someone who can do that to try and put him off his game. Hes world class, if we give any sort of chance he will kill us. Azpi is a good defender but there will be times hes beaten by him. Or Branna if he plays at right back. We also have to watch Isco, Di Maria, Ozil as well... they are all good players but not as good as Ronaldo who is obviously the pick of th bunch. I don't know how Madrid will line up but I'm guessing Carlo will go with 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 surely? Seems to suit their front players best but I still fancy us to be more up for it than Madrid. Jose will want to win, the fact its against Madrid and he left on a bad note in particular it could be intense. Going to put my neck out and say 3-1 Chelsea.
  4. What time is it on at? Might need to have a nap, then get up and watch it...
  5. I'd take Eto'o tbh. Hes still quite good, he doesn't play as a striker for Anzhi usually, plays a bit deeper but as a striker he'd be useful tbh. Willian is about a year too late.
  6. Hey you are copying me........ even though I haven't got money to get it yet, please don't say you got Oscar on the home shirt and are planning Schurrle on the away.... please don't say it.....
  7. Hahahaha this is class, nice wee change too in comparison to Jason's I love Justin Bieber articles 'Wayne will probably pen his written transfer request - with a little help from three-year-old son Kai. '
  8. Rodgers is honestly trying to milk his Chelsea links isn't he?
  9. I'd go with that exact team except for Ivanovic playing instead of Terry.
  10. His pace is incredible. I thought he was slightly fast but not that fast. I suppose in the other games hes not been close to his match fitness so we've not had a chance to really see it.
  11. Some golazo Andre! Great technique, he didn't exactly smash it kind of guided it.
  12. If Marco and Rami keep playing well together I can see Mikel facing some serious competition for a starting place. Which is good for the team as competition is always healthy.
  13. Moses, Kevin and Marco were really good. Milan had good MF players in their team, Marco and Ramires played well against them. Mikel did well when he came on too. What a goal by Schurrle too right at the end, top class finish. Interesting fact: with Lukaku in the team we have scored 11 goals and without him only 6 goals.
  14. He apparently had some sort of hamstring issue...
  15. Silvestre is so average its unreal. He was too shit to get a game for Inter whos CBs consist of Ranocchia (who was shit last year), Juan Jesus (wasn't great), Samuel (old experienced CB no idea how he did), Chivu (no idea either but an older experienced CB). If he starts next to Mexes I'd put my house on us scoring at least 3 or 4. Poli looks a decent signing for Milan, they just need to find the right midfield in terms of balance and creativity and they could do with sorting their CBs out, since they lost Nesta he has never been fully replaced but yet again how do you replace Nesta? He was simply too good. Its the same with us, how do you replace Drogba? Its virtually impossible.
  16. Thats because thats where the space is, Ronaldo's so far up and doesn't come back so there is a massive gap between himself and Marcelo/Coentrao which forces the number 10 player (Ozil, who has atrocious defensive work rate too) or a central midfielder (Modric/Alonso) to come across and cover the fullback which ends up in more spaces for the opposition to expose. Thats what happened with our pivot at times too, ultimately Hazard or Mata wouldn't come back, means Lampard/Mikel/whoever had to come out to the player exposing spaces and leaving a 2 v 1 in midfield.
  17. Evidently you don't watch him enough then if you think he just passes it sideways/backwards. Last season about 60 something percent of his passes went forward. Also for the passes he does play backwards/sideways, what's wrong with that? He plays a role in the team where hes always on to be passed to, he always retains possession and then moves it on. Defensive midfielders are their to provide an option for their team mates, break up play and fill in the gaps. Nothing more, they aren't supposed to score 56949 goals a season or create 15 goals a season.
  18. Never liked Campagnaro since that Napoli games, typical Italian defender always being a cunt! Was it him who tried to intercept that pass that eventually looped over him for Mata's goal in that 3-1 game in Naples or was it someone else? Would be fitting if it was him tbh.
  19. Best player on the park tonight. Marco - Ramires is a great partnership, they are both athletic players capable of defending and attacking. They have a good understanding, when Ramires goes forward, Marco sits and covers and vice versa. Both are good at breaking up play as well which gives us a much more balanced midfield as opposed to Ramires - Lampard or Mikel - Lampard. I'd like to see Mikel play next to Marco as well, it would give Marco more freedom to get further up the field and get into goal scoring positions.
  20. I said a few times after the Asia tour games, we need to use MvG and Ramires in the pivot, they compliment each other so well and they can both switch roles. For a 20 or 21 year old Marco has a presence in midfield. He reminds me of Michael Ballack so much as in hes an round midfielder, capable of defending and attacking.
  21. I love Marco van Ginkel. He was a boss before he was subbed, fucking immense.
  22. If Bale goes for 80m plus I think we'll see AVB make a few great moves. Soldado already looks like a Spurs player and I can see them looking at Willian (rumors about him wanting to leave Russia) and possibly AVBs good old friend Hulk. Also theres rumors Spurs want Papadapolous from Schalke and well if the rumors about Spurs wanting Madrid to throw Modric into the Bale deal then they simply have the best MF in the league in my eyes: Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele, Holtby and Modric. Spurs also need a better LB so with that 80 plus m they could get a good striker, good center back, replacement for Bale and a good LB they will be an allround better team due to selling Bale.
