Thats true, I mean if we are getting Eto'o for 6m like what has been said then I'd prefer to spend 6m on someone as opposed to someone who will cost 35m. Its just will in say 2 years or so if Eto'o leaves we are still really going to be looking for another striker even if we keep Lukaku, Torres and Ba (the last two aren't great).

Lol... I seen the score on my phone and although they won, 120 minutes against Notts County? Jesus. Adam Coombes also scored for Notts (ex-Chelsea youth).

Ligue 1 is a good league for him to continue developing and gain more experience. Albeit playing with Sevilla he still really has the same chance.

I'd probably prefer Martinez in terms of age and the fact he'll get better as hes 26 or 27, going into his peak now.
-
Cant see him not getting a work permit. I mean Fernandinho got one and hes played like 3 games for Brazil in the last few years
-
He could be a great signing. Is he worth 34.8m? No, is he fuck but we can't get many other strikers cheaper than that. Hes either option B or option C.
-
We will win this one. Mourinho will reuse his tactics from last night (low block, counter attack) and play so we don't lose. I hope he gives Romelu a run out and drops Lampard. Was bad enough seeing Cleverly look good against him so never mind even thinking what will happen if one of Schweinsteiger, Martinez or Thiago plays.... I dont mind us being negative against teams like Bayern but not United who are only a striker better than us really.
-
I don't know, do you think Abramovich would be happy seeing over 100m worth of attacking talent in a team but playing a low defensive block, not taking any initiative and settling for 0-0? I am happy with a point but we could have had a better go at them for 3 points. They were certainly there for the taking. I suppose 1 point beats 0 points though but it could have been different if the approach was slightly different.

Raging that Lampard has played more or less 270 minutes of football in the last week and a bit. Hes got to be managed carefully I thought, not overplayed in games where hes not going to be effective (United and Villa) where there's going to be a lot of pressure on our midfield. Marco needs some games, we should have played him against Hull and Villa maybe not United but certainly against Hull and Villa.
-
I think we are the second club to bid for him tbh. Don't know why but I reckon we are lmfao.
-
Why is Jose scared to trust him in the big games? Just how it seems to me. Loan him or play him, simple as that. If hes good enough hes old enough, hes gotten like 10 minutes in 3 games, Jose obviously doesn't think hes good enough yet or he'd have started him upfront tonight surely? Or is he gonna start him in the Super Cup or even the next PL game?
-
Was unlucky with that chance he hit the bar with, obviously he was offside but it was a good hit and if he had gone a fraction later he would have timed his run perfectly. Some pros and cons with him upfront. Obviously hes very fast and good on the counter, not as strong and can't hold the ball up that well.
-
10/10 for effort tonight, didn't get much service. His runs off the ball were class though.
-
1 point is better than nothing 8 of our team didn't show up tonight. Sure Oscar and Schurrle didn't do much but in terms of work rate they were both superb. John Terry was immense for us as well. Is Mourinho scared to play Lukaku? What a waste of having him here if hes not gonna start games.... Also Jose stop fucking starting Lampard in these big games, hes been non existent since the first half against Hull... and we were playing fucking HULLL.
-
the most boringest clock work football ever. Everythings so obvious, pass pass long ball to Schurrle.
-
Good chance for him, hopefully he can nab a goal or two and prove these doubters wrong.
-
Jose does a Di Matteo, if this goes badly he gets sacked for dropping Torres.
-
No just these quotes on here, on twitter, everywhere... not filling me with much confidence
-
Joses press conference replies aren't filling me with any confidence that we're gonna keep Mata.
-
Great player, great career, pity we signed him when he was 30 odd and not when he was playing at Porto.
-
Would probably be happy with him now if we don't get Rooney or Eto'o
-
To think we refused to play him upfront
-
Yes but also I can see Moyes playing a 4-5-1 and being quite cautious against us. We need to have our best player involved at some point. Also this speculation is fucking annoying the hell out of me.
-
True but if Mata's fit and we are going to go attack them then surely Mata would be crucial on the wing or in the hole even if Oscar does play? This Mata going on loan or just leaving in general business is annoying me very much. Even that we could be signing Rooney too as we all know what shirt number Rooney loves (not saying that Mata has to leave if Rooney signs but for marketing purposes Rooney 10 sells better than Rooney 22 or something)..... albeit very coincidental that hes not match fit.
-
Mata must play. If we are going to keep him (I'm hoping we will), Jose must start him to show that hes here to stay. If Mata is not in the team I can see him going. Cech Ivan - Luiz - Terry - Cole Rami - MvG Mata - Oscar- Hazard Lukaku Lots of energy, legs in midfield (basically no Lampard and Essien) and a powerhouse upfront.
