  1. I think this game will be difficult, not as much as the Madrid game but still a step up from the Inter Milan game. Roma have some cracking players in Pjanic, Totti, Lamela, Strootman and De Rossi. Totti will probably be their key man, everything seems to run through him still, he seems to have gotten better with age. Will a great experience, there is a reunion for Hazard with Rudi Garcia, his Lille manager, so I'd imagine Roma will know what they are up against on the left if he plays (which he probably will). I'm also hoping to see a bit more of Andre Schurrle, on the left or right wherever, want to see him running at players taking them on one on one using his pace, not seen that very much yet. Also using van Ginkel in midfield against with Ramires against another team with some quality MF players (Pjanic, Strootman, Bradly, De Rossi) will be a good test for him and Rami, he has done very well so far so I'm hoping it continues. Defensively they are there to be gotten at, they were the top goal scorers in Serie A but had a shocking goal difference, mostly due to their all out attack footballing philosophy that Zeman had looked to instill but sure they are still there to be gotten at. Their full backs like to go up still and they probably aren't as good at defending as they are at attacking, I watched their MLS all-stars game and if a team with quality on the wings looked to exploit the spaces behind them then their is a chance we could hurt them from there. Also Lukaku could cause problems with his strength and pace, hopefully he'll be more effective than against Real (posted in another thread that I felt he was nervous and looked inexperienced against a top top team with his runs and use of the ball) who had 2 top center backs as opposed to Roma who will probably use Leandro Castan and Benatia (who is actually a pretty good center back in all honesty) so hopefully he is much more effective. Also we might end up seeing Tin Jedvaj (17 or 18 year old Croatian who apparently agreed to go to Spurs/Arsenal) get some minutes at CB for Roma and by the looks of him Lukaku will have a fun day against him competing physically. Going for 4-1 Chelsea tbh. Bit optimistic but haha yeah.
  2. Think I seen the talkchelsea twitter account, or possibly a link from google.... cant remember
  3. Torres has that bit of experience of leading the line against big European teams like Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus etc. which Lukaku doesn't which is why Torres was much better out of the two when he came on. You look at the difference in how Marco (21) and then Romelu (20) performed. Romelu wasn't confident enough, he looked disinterested and struggled to get into the game whereas Marco started badly but grew into the game and became much more confident because he decided to play safer passes and safe dribbles when in possession. Sometimes thats the difference with young players, can they be confident enough to turn it around after a bad start against big teams? Or do they struggle and crumble? You could tell they both started nervously which you gradually expect both to get rid of with experience. The fact Romelu was also isolated didn't help but as we seen he wasn't effective enough when the team had possession, he stood still, when Torres came on he chased back, looked to drop deeper to receive the ball, which sometimes your striker needs to do to help your team out. Its stuff like that Rom needs to improve. Also theres times where if he doesn't get the pass when he wants (like when van Ginkel dispossessed Khedira and broke), he just stops as opposed to keep looking for the pass. Defending from the front as well is vital in teams. Torres does this quite well sometimes (got to give the fucker some credit) so at least Romelu can learn from him a bit (please do not try and learn how to finish from him though ). Its really an experience thing though, when things aren't going well for your team or striker you've got to try run about, put yourself about and help the team out as well as you can. Romelu didn't win much against Ramos and Pepe tbh which I'm disappointed in actually but I suppose both are regarded as top class CBs. I'll probably edit this later and add more as I've got to go Actually can't be bothered I'll leave it as this.
  4. Maybe for 5-10m and then make the guy take a 250k wage cut. I remember Jose said he wanted to sign him years ago when he was still in charge the first time round so maybe he might have another shot at signing him for us. Who knows.
  5. Well Marin helped ruin Cuntinands testimonial..... recall him
  6. We made Madrid look like Barcelona in the first half, not good.... second half was much better just a pity that cunt Ronaldo scored. Where was the defense last night btw? Cahill was shocking and the marking for Ronaldo's goal? van Ginkel or Ramires who was following him? Lukaku struggled evidently but I suppose against top international defenders like Pepe and Ramos it was likely. Madrid 1 Mouirnho 0 he will even the score eventually...
  7. If Luiz has agreed to move to Barca then he can fuck off. Barca are cunts.
  8. Spurs will probably have the best MF in the PL if they get Capoue in. Capoue, Sandro, Dembele, Holtby, Paulinho.... all good international players for top footballing nations. Still say they lack a Modric like player but I think Holtby can be that player if utilized deeper. The fact that you look at Capoue, Sandro, Dembele and Paulinho, all four of them are very big physically imposing lads too, they are gonna be a nightmare to play against.
  9. We will win this. Hazard vs Carjaval? The lad is a decent prospect, but in all fairness even if Hazard can't be arsed he will destroy him, hes that good. If they don't play Carjaval and go for Arbeloa instead its fair to say Arbeloa is fucked. If De Bruyne plays on the right and they play Marcelo then there is definitely space for Kevin to exploit. Also Ronaldo doesn't track back very much too so it leaves more space for us to exploit. Even Moses on the right could cause problems, with the space Marcelo will leave behind him we can cause them problems on both flanks. Oscar playing centrally in my eyes is a must. His working back will be vital in preventing Illarramendi from controlling the tempo. Illarramendi is good but tbh I still think Alonso is their best MF player by a sheer mile. He may lack mobility but he is so good at passing the ball and breaking up opposition play. Ramos at CB is a weakness for Madrid, against someone of Lukaku or Ba's strength I feel he will struggle. Lukaku's frightening turn of pace too along with his sheer power will give him a hell of a time. Varane as high as I rate him will probably look a bit shaky against a big presence as he did against Drogba in the CL last season. Will they use Pepe or Varane though I don't know. If we don't play Ramires and van Ginkel in the middle I feel Isco/Ozil whoever plays in the hole will exploit a partnership of Lampard and Ramires/Mikel/Essien. Lampard should not be started in these sort of games, possibly if we need a goal we could call on him but maybe thrown on as a sub where he can possibly score a goal or whatever. How do you stop Ronaldo? Have Ramires, Azpi and De Bruyne kick the shit out of him on the right side. Get stuck right into him really early, United put Jones on him in their 2 CL games and the fact he was constantly trying to get stuck in on him it kind of lessened his influence on the games. Hes dangerous as we have seen but still if you don't give him all the fucking time in the world and get stuck into him hes not going to like it. If I remember rightly, in the Luis Gustavo thread the video of Gustavo vs Madrid shows him getting stuck in on Ronaldo at every opportunity, we need someone who can do that to try and put him off his game. Hes world class, if we give any sort of chance he will kill us. Azpi is a good defender but there will be times hes beaten by him. Or Branna if he plays at right back. We also have to watch Isco, Di Maria, Ozil as well... they are all good players but not as good as Ronaldo who is obviously the pick of th bunch. I don't know how Madrid will line up but I'm guessing Carlo will go with 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 surely? Seems to suit their front players best but I still fancy us to be more up for it than Madrid. Jose will want to win, the fact its against Madrid and he left on a bad note in particular it could be intense. Going to put my neck out and say 3-1 Chelsea.
  10. What time is it on at? Might need to have a nap, then get up and watch it...
  11. I'd take Eto'o tbh. Hes still quite good, he doesn't play as a striker for Anzhi usually, plays a bit deeper but as a striker he'd be useful tbh. Willian is about a year too late.
  12. Its got the Premier League, Serie A, SPL, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, MLS and the Brazilian league. Also Europa League games and FA cup games. Sadly I've not got Sky or BT tv so I have to watch it on my laptop or iPhone but it was simply too good to turn down for free even on my laptop.
  13. Hey you are copying me........ even though I haven't got money to get it yet, please don't say you got Oscar on the home shirt and are planning Schurrle on the away.... please don't say it.....
  14. fuck it I've had my first error after using it once, BT go fuck yourselves.
  15. Well I set BT sport up about 2 hours ago and I was wondering how many other people here have got it and what they think. I've got it on my iPhone and laptop and I must admit its pretty fucking awesome. What do yous guys think of it?

  18. Rodgers is honestly trying to milk his Chelsea links isn't he?
  19. I'd go with that exact team except for Ivanovic playing instead of Terry.
  20. His pace is incredible. I thought he was slightly fast but not that fast. I suppose in the other games hes not been close to his match fitness so we've not had a chance to really see it.
  21. Some golazo Andre! Great technique, he didn't exactly smash it kind of guided it.
  22. If Marco and Rami keep playing well together I can see Mikel facing some serious competition for a starting place. Which is good for the team as competition is always healthy.
  23. Moses, Kevin and Marco were really good. Milan had good MF players in their team, Marco and Ramires played well against them. Mikel did well when he came on too. What a goal by Schurrle too right at the end, top class finish. Interesting fact: with Lukaku in the team we have scored 11 goals and without him only 6 goals.
  24. He apparently had some sort of hamstring issue...
