Doesn't matter considering Schurrle and Willian have done much more than a couple of good pre-season games and a game against Hull. You earn your place in the squad then the starting 11 here, sure getting into the 25 is an achievement in itself given how we had so many attacking players but getting into the starting 11? The shirt isn't given to you like at Wolfsburg or Werder Bremen or Belgium where you are a standout player in their squad playing poorly or not (no disrespect to those three teams but who did Bremen have better than him or Wolfsburg in that position? Belgium haven't very many better 10's either). Voted better than Muller in AMF position in the Bundesliga?! Really?!?! Muller is the best German footballer right now I'd say because he's so different to everyone else, not flashy but very good at the same time, he scores goals, sets them up and virtually can play any attacking position. If he goes to Man City he will be on the bench, Nasri, Navas, Silva, Milner to compete with for 2 wide MF roles as they usually play 4-4-2? No chance he goes into their 11 unless Silva/Nasri gets injured. also seen Wolfsburg would sell for around 20M euros, which is close to what they paid for him...... doubt that

Alan Shearer hit the nail on the head for me, something along the lines of 'would he go down like that if he were defending in his own box? no absolutely not' and I totally agree, Carroll's arm was out but he was already going down before he even got there. Its not a dive as in fooling the ref as there was contact but its just the way he decided to launch himself to the ground just before it because he knew it was coming. He's an absolute animal and I really think he could have kept on his feet and got to the ball even if he did receive a bit of contact.

I still remember how good and effective he was in the games against Tottenham and ourselves in the Europa League and CL when Basel did decide to push up and press. His mobility and stamina made him a very key component to their pressing game along with Valentin Stocker which against Spurs in particular was very very effective. I don't think players like Salah don't particularly suit high pressing, I really think he like Oscar, Hazard, Schurrle, Costa, Willian etc are the sort of guys useful for pressing, very fast over 5 or 10 yards, lots of stamina etc.

Not gonna lie, don't like them because they look too similar to old kits of different clubs (the white top and black top are effectively the same as last seasons). The home top looks like a blue version of this seasons Real Madrid top but with red on the collar and the different trim on the sleeves. The second one looks like a lazy changed up version of last seasons away kit and the third one is quite frankly very similar as well. If they are gonna produce this boring and very similar kits each year just make each kit last 2 or 3 seasons and save us all a bit of fucking money.

To be honest he does look like a sex offender. I'm sure that along with the very attractive cheerleading team might have something to do with why he was sacked more than footballing reasons.

Turkish Airlines rumoured to replace Samsung

Never mind the sponsor but if thats our home kit for next season, are the idiots at Adidas just taking designs of other teams kits from the season before and mashing them together or what? Looks like the Real Madrid kit only blue and with red trim instead of black on the collar bit. Might as well sack adidas and get pro star kits I'm sure they'd make a better design than that recycled bullshit (if its actually Adidas). -
I'll be honest, if playing in the CL final for your club means you should be in the 2014-15 Chelsea squad then get Kalou and Malouda back. I hate to say it but hes only just a decent full back, not much else than that to be honest although I remember the cracking game he had at the Emirates before we played Barca in the CL at the Bridge under Robbie and also in the league cup under Jose last year against Arsenal he was good I thought. And all in all, would it be good for his career to keep him here when hes never gonna get a game ahead of much more superior players in Felipe Luis and Cesar Azpilicueta? No.

This is the best thing I've ever seen in this thread. Even better than gifs of that goal against Juventus. Holy mother of god.
-
I don't care if we play shit or not, win the game. One of the hardest games this season.

Look you posted about Oscar saying he is just not good enough yet but he is 23. Phil Jones is 22 or 23 and lets be honest, is nowhere near as good as Gary Cahill right now and thats a fact. Too many mistakes? Hes so injury prone he's not even worth considering either in my eyes, he had the chance to be an elite central defender eventually but Ferguson moved him around so many different positions- hes generally very average as a right back and central defender - and his injury record is embarrassing really, I would've had him a few years back yes but I think his opportunity of being the next big English CB has passed. Sure you can say Cahill went up to the top the long way but Jones started out billed as an absolutely huge English talent (like we've never heard of plenty of them before) then made a big move and really struggled for consistency.

According to sky sports Italian journalist whoever the fuck... but really can we trust these guys? They said Torres' loan deal would be ended but AC Milan signed him from us..... I'd rather trust Sky Sports Nigeria and the fact its metro reporting it too, I'd rather trust the Sky Sports Italia journalist over them so that says a lot!!
-
Did we get a fee? In fact fuck it he is gone fuck the fee, no more 175k or whatever for someone who was useless for us. Simeone has worked miracles but he has a fucking challenge and a half on his hands.
-
Sure City will push Aguero hard like they did last year and the season before but eventually he will get another injury from being pushed to return too quickly. Times like this must make Pellegrini seem like an idiot for selling Tevez to Juve for a measly 10M euros.
-
Drogba have an affair? This is the guy who stopped a fucking civil war in Africa, the guy who donates half his wages to charity and has set up numerous hospitals and done some very amazing things. The possibility of him having affair? No I'm not having that, no chance.
-
Still one of the greatest footballing mysteries I will never understand. How can someone who was genuinely world class and probably the best striker in the PL go and turn into a pure shite cunt within like 3 years? Baffled to fuck.
-
What do you define as long range? I'd say somewhere between 20-25 yards and beyond, which means Schurrle, Drogba, Oscar, Hazard, Fabregas are all players who have scored lots of goals long range before. Even Ramires and Matic have scored long range goals. To say we lack players who shoot well from long range well is odd, we really don't, our footballing style has evolved the last 5 years, players prefer to go between the lines, play in tighter spaces, work one twos and combine more than the other players we had 4 or 5 years ago did but thats due to the different philosophy we have now. Its nothing to do with bad distance shooters, just how we are playing, much more passes in the final third, much more reluctance to shoot as say someone like Cesc/Oscar/Eden like to get his heads up when they're in potential long range shooting positions, find someone and move again and at times we are guilty of overplaying it a pass too many.
-
I'd rather we concentrated on dealing with their fullbacks who get high up the pitch, provide width and crosses for Carroll (particularly Jenkinson on the right) and also dealing with Downing and Alex Song who have been their 2 outstanding players this year. Song has too much class and ability to be given time on the ball, he can pick a pass and also breaks up a lot of play for them. I'd like to see Oscar or even Cesc in that number 10 role man mark him when West Ham have possession similarly to the way we had Lamps on Steven Gerrard at Anfield last season and Oscar on Pirlo in the CL at the bridge under Robbie. Obviously Carroll is a threat yes but he doesn't get the opportunity to win headers from crosses/long balls if we stop West Ham playing through Song, Downing and their full backs to get into those crossing situations. Beating Carroll in the air is quite hard to do so when he does get those long balls and knocks it down, we should concentrate on recovering the second ball more like we did against Stoke because realistically Andy Carroll is one of the best headers of the ball in England and 9 times out of 10 he will knock it down if he can.
-
mate you said it yourself, he's injury prone.... hes obviously made of polystyrene, I imagine if he even went to kick the ball his foot would just crumble to bits
-
Na the kids too injury prone, if he makes over 10 passes a game he'll probably shatter his whole skeleton at once or so you'd think listening to didierforevers posts.
-
I would honestly prefer to see Cesc there with him but Matic playing with Mikel and playing like that lets Mikel be a bit more positive because hes not the sole player with responsibility for holding like he was the other season playing next to Rami or next Lamps and even before that in a 3 when Essien, Ballack, Lampard etc where all here. I'd like to see Ake get a chance but I think Matic, Mikel, Ramires, Cesc for 2 deeper roles makes it virtually impossible to guarantee him regular game time there.
-
I mean Wenger has done some stupid shit before but he must be disappointed in his own judgement every time he sees this fella play for us. What a player. No offence to Frank but if Cesc stays here until hes done he will be held just as high in regard as him I feel. Might seem naive to say so but cmon its hard to say its not possible.
-
Mikel-Matic partnership gets better and better every game. What a performance. Cesc too played rathed good I thought.
-
His combination play is not terrible but still I don't even care if hes not quite on the same level as Cesc, Hazard and Oscar in terms of 1-2s and combination play. He's a striker, let him do his job which is fucking sticking the ball in the back of the net, run the channels, win fouls and when he can wind some opposition players up in the process (not his job but he does it anyway). I've not seen very many people mention how many fouls he wins from long balls, where he should be second best to it but he gets there beats the man and draws fouls like he did at Atletico. We've been crying out for a striker who plays like its life or death and scores 20+ goals a season for years now, I mean people seem to forget we had to put up with Torres for about 3 and a half years but still 'he's not good enough at one twos and combination play'? What the fuck. We have it very good, top of the league at Christmas, Diego has scored 12 goals so far, Cesc has been the best MF player in Europe in terms of assists and Matic is performing out of his skin most games with absolutely huge performances but yet still people want to complain.
-
They should still be judged on the defensive side more than the attacking side though. Players like Dani Alves and Gregory van der Wiel, who are regarded good fullbacks because they are good attacking players really annoys me haha. Anyway sure Azpi doesn't fly forward as much as Zabaleta who is a much more attack oriented fullback but he doesn't get caught out as much or give anyway anywhere near as many fouls as he does.
-
But my point is he's a fullback, he's the best fullback in the league because hes the best defensive fullback in the league. If you get what I mean.
