  1. No he isn't. I'm sorry but that's laughable mate, he's a good player but if he is at the same sort of level as Varane then the Frenchman has fallen significantly in 2 or 3 years. He's a going to be a good player in a few years but the way you go on about him it's like he is the second coming of jesus.
  2. I never once said we couldn't afford it... fucking hell. if Jose really wanted him he'd have already bid the 100M or whatever and he'd be here. I don't think he's bid the 100M euros because he doesn't want him, it's because he doesn't think he's worth the 100M euros. Thats my fucking point. So get that through your skull.
  3. Do people realistically think we have a chance in signing a player with a 100M euro price tag? Not that we can't but the fact we won't mainly due the price tag and the boys ability doesn't make sense. If he was like a Messi or Ronaldo level player.. maybe but he's not. If he was worth the 100M euros do you think Jose wouldn't hesitate to even bid that?
  4. For me, he should be plan A out of the two but I get the need for homegrown players in the squad.
  5. People give a shit about his cost because he is not good enough (and probably won't ever be) to be worth that. Mentioning those guys like Neymar, Di Maria and Bale before they got then they had huge potential and have kicked on and now? Neymar: Brazil's best player and one of the best wingers in the world, Di Maria: one of the best wingers in the world, Bale: one of the best wingers in the world, Sterling already was England's best player at the World Cup and will probably go on to be the main guy in that team too at this rate but if you are trying to compare John Stones' price tag with theirs to try and justify that he is worth that sort of money then it is wrong. There is an elite level and then there is the one John Stones is/will be on. Barca, Real and City went and bought them players because they are going to be top top players. John Stones will never be worth a 40M outlay. I wasn't too sure about Sterling and doubted buying Shaw last summer but I really feel they will both go on and be really good players for their clubs and England in the future but don't see John Stones in that same way. He is composed and good on the ball for a center back but we've seen that before in David Luiz, it doesn't guarantee anything regarding defending, what I've seen of him from the last two seasons in particular and against City and Watford, he doesn't look anything like a top defender. He will end up being good but never good enough to have a 40M price tag justified. Otamendi cost 32M but hes already a top established CB, would have fancied him here tbh but it was obvious it was a shoot out between City and United. Hope if Stones doesn't end up coming we go after Laporte because he is going to be a great CB and already is at a pretty good standard.
  6. Meh I think its all the same. He probably wouldn't hesitate to sell him for something like 40M if that chance came up.
  7. They needed another more established CB to replace Distin and Alcaraz who left in the summer so I don't think he's a replacement for Stones.
  8. but he also said he wanted those players to stay at various times too, take what Mourinho says with a pinch of salt because quite frankly his actions speak louder than words.
  9. Should of definitely scored but goals will come. He's not particularly a player known for scoring goals so Pedro's capture should ease that burden on him (fancy him to get at least 10 goals) although he does need to start putting the ball in the net a bit more because Willian's undoubtedly a top player and the signs of Pedro-Willian-Hazard looked very promising but there will be games where we'll play terrible and need 1 goal. He was playing with more responsibility last season after January though and I hope he can get back to that performance level.
  10. Just like Mata, Torres, Filipe Luis, Luiz etc, when Jose said he counted on them? I think if there's a really good offer for Oscar he will be sold, he is not exactly a guy who cannot be replaced easily considering the fact there are many number 10s out there and also deeper midfield players who could come in for us to go to a 4-3-3 possibly. Its is interesting, don't see Pogba coming here at all though.
  11. If they are now going to let him go get him for as cheap as possible and make the cunts pay us the rest of that Lukaku fee too. That will show them for attacking JT, Cahill and Jose over this transfer saga.
  12. He has been pretty poor since the last few months of last season, not just this season... the same with Cesc but I think out of the two Matic was worse today, at least in phases Cesc gave us something going forward.
  13. An we needed to be more ambitious? Was delighted with his debut, hes a top player. Will add so much to this team. His goal was great, ok lucky finish maybe but pass and move pass and move, his movement in the final third is fucking great in comparison to Willian or Oscars. Forgot to mention as well, his crossing, how good is it now we have someone on the right who can fucking cross..
  14. Maybe but he was the guy in charge and he used Ramires there like so many times
  15. What do you mean you sure it's Di Matteo haha? He was in charge at the time and he put him on the left against Napoli and Barcelona at the Bridge, then on the right against Liverpool in the FA cup final too. Even against Juventus the season after before he got sacked I'm sure he played Ramires on the wing at the Bridge and then Azpi on the wing in Turin. So it was probably Di Matteo. It's not like he wasn't picking the team at those times. Plus Steve Holland wasn't even assistant manager at the time was he? Think it was Eddie Newton? I'm sure he was assistant first team coach if that's any different.
  16. Think he blows hot and cold at times but you can't doubt his genuine ability though, he is incredibly gifted technically, links very well with his team mates and obviously he knows how to score goals, if he went to Arsenal and was a hit they'd be up there for the title for sure. I think he's scored like 15-20 goals plus each of the last 4 or 5 seasons at Madrid, which is impressive considering Ronaldo basically plays as a striker too and there's times you think he's just not gonna do anything.
  17. He is really about the only young CB I can think of in the league who is in that mould anyway along with Jason Denayer although he's not a first team regular with City. Don't think it is exactly fair to compare him with a guy who just finished a season on loan with Celtic, where Virgil van Dijk could probably have played as the only CB and kept clean sheets at times. Being a ball playing CB is all good, like Luiz at times but to be a top CB you need to be brilliant defensively, he strikes me as good to a certain point, I don't think he'll turn out half as good as what people think. As I said regard LvG, he's gone for Smalling-Blind at CB mainly because of the balance, a right footer and a left footer, I believe this will be recurring in his defence this season and next. I don't think Rojo is as bad as people make out, he was injured and missed bits of last season and when Shaw was injured played LB but he is a strong and pacey CB, its going to be his second season now so he will probably be better equipped for the PL.
  18. Di Matteo. Although it worked against Liverpool, Napoli and Barcelona.
  19. United... Really? I don't know man. My mate is a United fan and he keeps saying Chris Smalling has probably been the most improved player at Man United since LvG took over, at points last season he looked very good for them to be honest, I doubt he is going to get rid of him for John Stones, maybe he would sell Phil Jones but they wouldn't have given him a new deal if that was the case. He's also very keen on having a right footed CB on the right and a left footed CB on the left so I really don't see him being particularly fussed about that right side as much when they have Jones, Smalling, Evans, McNair all for that side, when they are all under 30 years old. They have Rojo and Blind on the left so maybe that's the side they will look to improve, he said last year at one point he didn't have enough left footed players in his squad... City have just bought Otamendi to compete with Kompany, Mangala, Demichelis.. again 4 good options to have, even if they go for Stones next summer, hes going to probably be 3rd/4th choice behind Kompany-Otamendi depending what happens with Martin Demichelis. I'd say ideally we are probably the only club he would get regular games for out of the three because we are going to need to phase JT out soon. We can't play with a high line against top teams with JT in the back line, it's not going to work too well at all.. like we seen under Villas-Boas but if we can't find another CB who is fast enough with the right characteristics to play that far up in a high line then we really aren't looking hard enough because I'm sure there are other CBs out there.
  20. I honestly doubt it, we are the only club who has bid for him, United and City probably aren't interested considering they've got better CBs at their disposal. If we don't get him this summer I think we should just give up and look else where. He is not a top player so I really couldn't give a shit if we get him or not to be honest. If he wants to play for a top club, there is no better club in the PL to play for as a CB in my eyes, Jose is here and JT is here. If the kid wants to develop into a top CB it would make every bit of sense to come here and learn from JT ... even Cahill as well and eventually replace one of the two in the lineup but he's clearly content at Everton so we should look elsewhere. Its not like there is a shortage of CBs. If he was a top class player like say for instance, when we missed out on Aguero and Silva... when we were linked for ages and apparently had offers rejected, I was genuinely gutted to see them go to City. If Stones were to go to City/United, I really couldn't care. Luke Shaw maybe now by the looks of this season, was someone we shouldn't have missed out on because so far he looks frighteningly good this year, pacey, strong, composed but even then John Stones is a class below him in terms of talent, so it wouldn't put me up or down if he were to stay at Everton.
  21. Apparently Stones won't hand in a transfer request, well good luck playing with mediocre players at a average club, lets see how many league titles/cups you win in the next few years. Move on already Jose. Fuck John Stones, fuck Everton and obviously fuck Roberto Martinez. Anything over 30M is a joke.
  22. French league would be good but I don't know if Marseille or Monaco are actually that keen on taking him, I know they were linked to him, but I don't think the Dutch league is a bad idea either though. Vitesse is a good club to have a relationship with for these sort of things so perhaps he could have gone there. We should really look to get something with PSV or Ajax though, they really are top developing clubs.
  23. I thought he could have gone to Vitesse on loan to be fair. Probably good enough for it, think he's more talented than those boys we sent there.
  24. 30m and Cuadrado, more viable. Don't see why people are saying we should also throw Oscar into any potential deal too along with Cuadrado and like 50M he is not fucking Messi or Ronaldo. Hes another guy who's a good player but again not world class and sooner people realize that the better. 'Oh hes got so much potential' so what potential means nothing if its not fulfilled and I really don't see him becoming the best player in the world EVER. Just overhyped.
  25. Musonda when I've seen him with the u21s looks top drawer but again u21s is u21s, hopefully he gets a loan move, I know he was talked about in the Falcao deal but I don't know whats happening now probably missed his chance.
