Why play him at LB when hes shown hes clearly got enough about his game to play on the left wing and probably the right if needed? I really like this kid and hope he gets a chance to play as often as he can but hes obviously not a left back, hes a left winger/striker, no point reinventing him, would just kill his career.

Wait you want to replace Pedro with Moses and now Oscar with RLC? How many times do I need to post this, RLC isn't all that, he might not be Chelsea material yet and lets be honest could never be. He has a big build but a pretty shocking technique, almost like Jack Rodwell, big build and poor technical qualities. Oscar at least has got the attributes to be a good squad player, technically hes very sound and is still youngish and can still improve, I wouldn't say hes not good enough at times he is poor but he struggles with consistency more for me when he gets going on a half decent few games. Cesc was more influential than Hazard in our best part of then season last year. Sell him? Are you nuts? He made that team tick, we were playing good football in the first 5-6 months and he was the main reason why for me along with Costa. He gives availability to his team mates, always wants the ball, always takes it anywhere he can and always looked to go forward first and foremost, be it a killer pass or a 5 yard pass. But yeah lets sell him and go back to watching Matic, Mikel and Ramires all trying to be playmakers when they aren't, because that wasn't the most depressing sight on a football field for a Chelsea fan, was it?

I think it would be stupid to bring him in on a permanent deal, maybe a loan but even then despite his lack of injuries in the last few years he still has a lot of previous which makes me doubt he'd ever be as good as he once had the potential to be years ago.

Sergio Busquets was a very talented player that made sense to be promoted and played in that team because really Toure was a box to box player who was forced to play holding midfield. I mean to say that Jose not dropping Ivanovic for Baba, who really is quite average or he would of played eventually, doesn't have balls is ridiculous. He dropped Casillas, Pepe, Ramos at Real and whoever else at various clubs. I mean dropping Casillas in its own right cost him his job, if thats not balls then what is. That Porto team that won the CL as well under him, look at the young players and were they all went to and what the became, he doesn't just play 11 36 year olds at every club and intentionally neglect youth. Lukaku would probably of gotten a chance if he stayed here as well, that was all but confirmed before he decided to move to Everton and the others bar Filipe Luis who I agree with you on, were unproven and not completely ready/not good enough for Chelsea.

Why would we be getting rid of Oscar, Pedro, Cesc, Remy, JT, Mikel? They can all be valuable squad players/important players next year (well only Cesc and JT really). We just need to buy two or three players for the first 11, maybe two or three more for the squad that are right for the team and the new manager, no need to have a huge overhaul again 3-4 years after the last one if you want to call it that. I mean we won the PL last year, look at City and Arsenal this year, they bought maybe one, two or three players last year and look like totally different teams. You don't break up a whole squad that won the PL last year because of one dodgy season.
-
Fault him for limitations, certain incidents etc but he got us back into that game and his attitude, which many on here criticize, could be a big factor in where we finish this year. I'd like to see a few others step up and give the same sort of effort and play with that aggressiveness he did in the match. Guus has helped get him back among the goals and long may it continue.
-
Barkley caught him and Matic out too often but I think Matic was pretty piss poor today as well. Mikel wasn't great either obviously but I think we are better off using him next to Cesc right now than Matic.
-
Well lets hope Diego Costa isn't seriously injured. We would of won if he was still on I think. Goal and an assist, although he wasn't up to much in the first half he is quite clearly vital to our team. Also I'll say it again John Stones is one of the most overrated defenders in Europe, he would make a pretty good midfield player but honestly hes not worth 35M or anything near it, he takes too many chances with the ball and still gets caught out with silly things. Also hate Roberto Martinez so much, so to see John Terry score an offside goal in the 99th minute or whatever when it was only 7 minutes added on is so good.
-
He would of went to Barca, Real, Bayern, Arsenal, City, United or somebody else then. Lets be honest, money talks, it doesn't matter if your a 16 year old or 25 year old, if you can make x amount than you would somewhere else it obviously sways decisions, look at that wee Norweigan kid who went to Real Madrid, 30,000 euros a week or something.... it happens.
-
Good goal but a pretty average performance, I still don't see why he isn't on loan getting regular minutes and improving his pretty piss poor technique. He is a good player in terms of physical qualities but his technical ability is poor, I reckon Jose promoted him because he was ready physically.
-
Exactly. He is also one of the only guys in our squad who is willing to take a risk in terms of passing, if he sees a 30-40 yard ball over the top or a pass that needs to go through 3 or 4 players he tries it regardless of giving it away or not. How long did we cry out for a player like Cesc? Who could control the games, play cutting/penetrating passes through teams that sit with two banks of fours? A good few years? I can't believe he is getting criticized when he is by far our most creative central midfielder, despite a shit season so far he is still our most creative central midfielder.
-
Unsure what we've spent the 21M on tbf, he has rarely played and when he has has flattered to deceive.
-
Azpi's lack of offensive contribution was really more down to Jose's instructions I feel. He made several overlapping runs v Scunthorpe, provided an assist and whenever he could offer an overlap he tried to. As well in the other games, hes looked more and more willing to get forward under GH.
-
Traore > Bamford Traore scored 10 or 11 goals for Vitesse upfront last year after being shifted there. Give him a go ahead of Bamford, hes a much better talent.
-
Its going to be Pellegrini now isn't it?
-
Not just his goals that is making him look better, the ball is sticking to him when hes got his back to goal much more than it was earlier in the season and hes also making more runs. Guus Hiddink has got him doing the basics right and hes starting to get goals.
-
Yeah there are CFs like Suarez, Ibra, Aguero etc who are better but I was meaning in terms of wingers. Robben, Ribery and Douglas Costa perhaps too totally forgot them but Robben and Ribery haven't had a season or two of consistent appearances without disruption due to injury. Still not sure if Bale is better than Hazard, both are good players but I think if Bale's physical qualities like his speed and strength were to decline rapidly (lets say a big injury similarly to Falcao/Torres) he'd be quite useless in comparison to Hazard who has a superior technical ability but I'll also say that Hazard and Bales seasons are very much opposites this season to say Bale's second season at Real, Bale excelling for Real with goals and assists and Hazard struggling for form and suffering injuries.
-
Bale better than Hazard? Fuck sake not this shit again. The only wide players who are better than Hazard are Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo in my opinion.
-
Matic and Mikel... both are different players, one is really an 8 and the other is a 6 in terms of positions.
-
The same way every other player does. Just because it is a cup game playing against lower opposition and because you are under 21 doesn't mean you deserve to start ahead of 24 other guys or whatever, if they earn play time then fine but if they don't then nobody can honestly sit and say that its 24 other players fault or a coach's fault for playing players who are training better/harder and performing better. I mean would you drop Willian who has been our player of the season so far and is in exceptional form to accommodate Bertrand Traore, who at most has played maybe 30 minutes of football all season if you were Guus Hiddink? Or Mikel who just had a brilliant game against Palace for Ruben? Its not so black and white as oh its a cup game drop 5 big players and play 5 kids in their place.
-
Exactly as much as I am worried about Oscar's inconsistency and lack of an influence in certain games he has still got plenty to offer, he is more than good enough to make an impact off the bench or even be a rotation option. Isco is a better footballer with better technical ability but now though the shackles are off as Jose isn't there and I feel he was holding back Oscar and Hazard particularly, despite Hazard's season last year he could probably still better that.
-
Waking Roman up so he changes his ways is the most important thing. Waking somebody up who has invested so much in to this club and is just as big an influence in how Chelsea are where we are today. Why would anybody who is a Chelsea fan want to embarrass anybody at Chelsea....
-
To be fair we should go for it because if its possible (and it likely is seeing the Madrid squad) he would improve us in that 10 position. He is just a delightful player to watch at times too.
-
Begovic Ivanovic - Zouma - Cahill - Baba Ramires/RLC - Mikel Willian - Oscar/Fabregas - Kenedy Remy/Costa
-
Is it just me or did we look better after he went off?
