  1. He's definitely not in the class Hazard is. He might do well but he won't replicate that sort of stats in the PL, I am absolutely sure of it. Wouldn't say that, it is not like we lack right wingers of a certain level like United lacked a CM of the sort of level Pogba was. We have Willian and Pedro for the right wing, really excited to see Pedro play. He has real pace and unlike Willian at times an actual end product and scores goals. I don't think de Bruyne will replicate that sort of stats for City, he might do well but 50M is a lot of cash, an absolute shit load of money, Hazard cost 32M and Pedro cost 21M. City were linked with both. I know money isn't an object for them obviously but still you could argue both are better and more proven players.
  2. He is undoubtedly a good player yes but the way people go on about him in here (not meaning just the Belgian members, some other people think he's god) you'd think he is world class. You won't see Chelsea paying 50M for a player of that level, simply because the value for the money is not there.
  3. 17.5M was a good deal for us we bought him for like 6.7M, we got another 10.8M for him, City are severely overpaying for him. If Wolfsburg had to sell he'd be gone for 30M by now. They are only selling him for a record fee because they don't need to sell him to balance the books or that. He really should stay another year prove he can do that sort of season again. One season wonders have happened before. Its obvious he's not a 50M player.
  4. ...and along with Mata was our best and most consistent player. He was much better because he wasn't shackled or playing right wing. He has suffered a bit playing a more disciplined role, he doesn't have the passing range to operate as a deep lying midfielder, he has to play box to box in a 3 man MF really to be at his best because he is able to defend and his third man runs provided a lot of trouble for opposition teams in that year.
  5. The only thing is Mourinho's teams in the past have never really had two full backs going forward the whole time like we seen under AVB in that spell where it went wrong. He always had one guy out of the two given more freedom to get forward, Ivanovic, Maicon, Marcelo... so I don't think hes gonna particularly gonna go gun ho and will have one more disciplined but that is no surprise. Would like to try Azpi on the right and Baba on the left, or even just having Baba play LB.
  6. 50.4M hahahaha what a rip off.. good player but never worth that money. The pressure is gonna be on him from the start again, something which he never dealt with completely well at Chelsea, despite not being a 50M transfer here. FFP is a fucking joke.
  7. I think he'll make it 4/5. Can see Aguero scoring a few to be fair, Stones-Jagielka is a weaker partnership than Cahill-Terry and if Silva is given as much time and space as he normally is there will be no issues at all for Aguero to get chances. Really feels its just a matter of how many for City as opposed to when.
  8. Really? Fucking hell. I know under Mancini it wasn't the best but under Pellegrini they seemed to beat them every time more or less. Still reckon City will steamroll them still. A match fit Aguero who absolutely terrorized our defence up against Jagielka and Stones? Aguero is crucial to City winning anything this year.
  9. Obviously not but he is just as good as Hazard is on his day in my eyes.
  10. He's had a pretty shitty last 2 years with his injuries but he'd still walk into this team. Injury prone or not.
  11. Oscar, Cuadrado and a shit load of money... not even worth it, would be a horrible deal. Maybe Cuadrado and 30M or something, considering we bought Cuadrado for 24M or whatever.
  12. Yeah man without a doubt, even when he played against us in the last two seasons, he was always a threat even if we didn't lose to them. I can't see Stones and Jagielka having any luck, Everton always seem to lose against City so I'm expecting the same again. Although based on last seasons performances I don't see why we are looking to bid 40M.
  13. A blinder v City, just waiting for Aguero to absolutely destroy him and Jagielka, like every other CB pairing in the PL.
  14. Think Moutinho isn't exactly the sort of guy I would go for now we have Cesc. Ideally if Ramires was a bit more disciplined and could play like his levels from 2011/12 he'd be the guy to play in a 3 with Matic and Cesc. Essien/Ballack would be ideal for this Chelsea team... if only...
  15. Well I think we really do need a more dynamic midfielder who is good a solid box to box player and an effective ball winner, someone in the mould of a Nainggolan, Marchisio, Strootman, Perez or similar. I think Witsel is a decent player and that but really, not exactly Chelsea standard. Maybe say the same of Nainggolan but still. Really gutted we didn't try and get Rakitic to be honest, although it was obvious he was wanted by Barca but a MF of Rakitic - Matic - Cesc would be class. Someone who is rounded like him but also at a high level.
  16. Who said Witsel was available? There are much much better MF players out there than Witsel. He's gonna cost an arm and a leg because he plays for Zenit, who pay him very very well on a long term contract and bought him for a whole lot of money. The fact he's not exactly developed much since going there either it makes no sense to try and buy him from Zenit. He moved to Russia for a huge salary so do you think he's gonna come here on a lower salary, to play a bit part role? I really don't.
  17. Courtois Ivanovic Cahill JT Azpi Cesc Matic Pedro Willian Hazard Costa Probably be our best team so it makes sense, genuinely excited to see Pedro play.
  18. If he doesn't put in a transfer request pull the plug. Everton will never get a higher offer than 34M or whatever for him in the next few transfer windows.
  19. I don't think he's ever been good enough to play here. Obviously if he'd sit on the bench maybe but yet again I don't think he's really kicked on at all since being at Benfica. Matic came here to test himself at a higher level, Hulk and Witsel went to Russia for a fuckload of money. I don't get why you would go from a higher standard of football to a poorer standard of football, even for the money, baffles me. Let him go to Italy, I'd rather we looked elsewhere to be honest, there are better players.
  20. Not happening. He will go to Barca/Real eventually.
  21. Neither is John Stones. I don't think he is a better talent than Kurt Zouma so the price we could pay for him is ridiculous. I think he screams average, he's good on the ball but we've seen that being good on the ball doesn't mean you're automatically a class defender (like David Luiz and Hummels). If he weren't English I don't think this forum or anybody would rate him as highly as he is. I mean Ross Barkley is the same and so were guys like Jordan Henderson and Theo Walcott... more than average players who were severely overrated since they were English.
  22. You're not playing that card are you, really? Might as well say 'Jay Rodriguez is maybe better than Neymar because he plays with Pelle and not Neymar' or something like that. Varane is miles better and is worth every penny of the 40M that we are gonna probably bid for Stones. I can't believe we've gone beyond 30M for Everton, there are much better CBs out there, just a pity they aren't English.
  23. Yes but still he was pretty poor, well marshalled by Kompany and Mangala. He hit the post too but his performance didn't really warrant a goal. The fact is Fabregas gets criticized for never showing up in ANY big games, which is a lie but guys defend Costa and Hazard if they dont. Its odd.
  24. Well to be honest they have in some games and they also haven't in some games. PSG for instance but I don't think anybody showed up and also Man City last year Costa was pretty useless. Its not like Hazard hasn't had an off day in a big game, like Cesc has done or anyone for that matter but people will complain about Cesc not or lacking in certain parts of games but not Hazard. The double standards on this forum at times is horrendous.
  25. He is gonna be a huge player in the next few years. He still needs to play regularly but at Monaco he has a great environment to develop and I said it in another thread he's got pace, power, links well with team mates, good ball control, can finish too. Hopefully he has a great campaign with Monaco and develops more and more. Hes going to be the number 1 striker at Monaco now for sure.
