  1. Ridiculous. Mikel is not terrible to have people 'celebrating' and posting stupid gifs at news of his potential departure. That should be saved for the really bad players like Torres, Kalou, Benayoun, Marin etc. I do hope he's sold because we just have too many players, and some people have to leave to make room. But he's a decent player, capable of contributing at an acceptable level at many teams. And I'd still rather have him in the team than Essien. Hopefully if he does leave, Romeu can be made backup to De Rossi/Capoue/whoever.
  2. I know lol. He works too hard, i play with custom 3 forwards and while 2 stay up, Cavani is clowning around somewhere in midfield
  3. Very one dimensional. He's good at what he does, but against better teams - check game at SB - his cut to the left and shoot shit can be stopped easily.
  4. I don't think we can get Cavani if Hulk is signed. Schurrle is pretty much a done deal for 20m, add Hulk and De Rossi to that and we're looking at close to 70m on those 3 players, which is not bad at all. I don't know the clubs budget, but an additional 50m+ for Cavani seems too much, so we might be getting a cheaper alternative in Dzeko or Gomez - which again is not bad at all, since they're upgrades over our current options.
  5. ‘If I said there wasn’t anything in it, I would be lying. But that is not for now. At the moment, I am 100 per cent focused on the Selecao (Portuguese for the Brazil team), and I hope to be a Confederations Cup winner with my country'
  6. This is what i was talking about in Lewy's page after CL final. All these top strikers - Falcao, Cavani, Lewy - are only great when their team are able to get them involved and create chances, otherwise they don't do much else. Another reason as to why i won't mind Gomez, he won't cost as much as most, but is just as good a finisher - so get him chances, and like Cavani or whoever, he will score goals.
  7. Lmao, TC's number one ITK has spoken!
  8. Mata last season emerged as a leader of this team and stepped up to put the ball in the net in big games, and when he didn't do that, he was setting up someone else to score. Right now he's probably as good as it gets for any player in that #10 position, especially when it comes to effectiveness in the final third. 20 goals and 30+ assists is no joke, it's ridiculous to entertain any thought of selling him, because finding a better player is next to impossible.
  9. Yeah, i said i would prefer Gomez to Dzeko. He is to me the best option available after Cavani, in terms of doing what a striker is actually supposed to do, and score goals.
  10. True, and why he's more suited to a 2 striker formation. If we want a goal machine, we should just get Gomez
  11. Jovetic for 23m is not bad at all.
  12. Exposed? after a rough start, he ended up with 11 goals and 8 assists in 28 games, not exactly awful, from a winger. You just said he's a good player, and good enough for Spurs - which is the part i don't understand. He will improve Spurs, and he's better than Lennon, so why can't he do a job here? he is not going to be the main man: Mata, Hazard and Cavani (if we get him) will be, his job is to provide another option if needed and that he sure can. You know i don't agree with the whole Sanchez love, so Di Maria > Hulk > Schurrle for me
  13. Hulk is good, he scores a decent amount and also assists. The problem before was his high price, due to the way Porto are run, but that will not be the case now - he wants out of Zenit and they'll probably want to sell him also, due to all the problems with the fans. I'd take him for anything under 25m, that's the right wing problem solved right there, and we will be adding around 30 goals a season (goals and assists) to the side.
  14. I actually forgot, good point. But maybe Rafa can use the 4-4-1-1 formation he used here against Basel, that was sexy stuff.
  15. Yep the only thing might be adapting to the league. As for substitute factor, you're probably right: Dzeko got 8 goals in 20 starts, and 7 goals in 18 substitute appearances. But why get him as sub, when we already have someone like Lukaku? we need someone who's going to lead the line most games, and sorry, but Dzeko doesn't cut it for me. Ridiculously unfair. Put Torres or Ba in Bayern team and you will see the difference. They create chances, but it's still up to the striker to put the ball in the net, and that's what Gomez has been doing consistently well...forever. Can't even compare him with Lukaku, the latter is younger and faster, but Gomez better at probably everything else.
  16. According to wiki, Gomez has 113 goals in 176 games for Bayern, even better, no? Hardly underused, definitely not underrated. Man city have 2 better strikers than him, so it's no surprise he struggles to get minutes. Dzeko, Lukaku, Ba? CL winning attack? erm i'm not even sure it can win PL lol. We don't need a 50m striker really, but someone that can score 25+ goals in a season is needed to lead our line, with Lukaku/Ba providing good enough back up.
  17. This. He's hardly ever played well vs Chelsea, i remember in his first season when he lead the line vs Terry and Luiz. It was one of the most pathetic centre forward performances i've ever seen - considering even the average strikers in the PL find a way to score against us lol. I don't rate Dzeko very highly, especially not to be our starting striker. This is just based on his time in the PL, never seen him for the national team or at his former club. He would do alright at Napoli though with their counter-attacking system. No, he's good. He is just like most strikers who struggle in tight games where not many chances can be created. But his finishing and movement are very good so if you can get him just 1 chance, there's a very good chance he'll put it in. He scored like 10 in his last 10 for Bayern last season, while being 2nd choice to Mandzukic. I mean this guy in the last 5 seasons has hit 35 or more goals 3 times, can't ask for much more from a striker.
  18. I'd rather have Mario Gomez...
  19. "Mourinho is shit tactically" lol. Madrid got beat in 3 semi-finals by Barca and Bayern, the 2 best teams in the world. And BVB who are a well oiled machine, and gave Bayern a much better game than Barca or Juventus did. Apart from those games you can hardly judge his tactics because there's only 1 tough team for Madrid in La liga, and last i checked Mourinho didn't lose to Barca in the last 6 games. Anyway, Madrid has always been a team that just buys the best players and there's hardly any sign of team spirit, the type of team spirit Mourinho won with at Inter and Chelsea, where all the players were fully committed to his ideas and gave 200% on the pitch for their manager.
  20. The old man and his weird noises lol.
  21. "Proper right winger" KDB is not a winger, and is better in a central position.
  22. I think Bale is a one trick pony, i always have. But what he did this season was truly amazing, he scored time and time again from outside the box without doing any skill - just move the ball to his left foot and boom. Hulk is similar but not as efficient and Schurrle is also of the same mold. He already has a good long range strike on him, and given how young he is, there's every chance he improves. You have to take into consideration he was Leverkusen's best player attacking wise, or at least 2nd behind Kessling. So 3 shots a game is probably what is expected given how involved he will be with the attacks. This number will come down at Chelsea, minus the fact he wouldn't start every game, he will not see the ball as often and will have to rely on Mata and Hazard getting him space for those long range shots, and chances in the box.
