  1. The fact that we have played in a Champions League Final before gives us an advantage over Moscow when the game could have gone either way. I remember when we got there in 2008 and it was a new experience and the event almost seemed surreal. This time there is no pressure and the lads can just go out and do their best without worrying too much. The nerves at the moment are nothing compared to what I had for Moscow.
  2. The decision was made last year that it would be at Villa Park. I don't mind Villa Park too much as a stadium and it is definitely one of the better stadiums in the league and one of the better choices considering Hampden Park, Millenium Stadium, Wembley, Old Trafford, St James' Park and Ricoh Arena are being used for Olympic football. However, the Emirates which is a far nicer and better equipped stadium in terms of transport and facilities would be my first choice. Still who cares the Community Shield is meaningless these days. I don't often bother going when it is 40 minutes across London at Wembley. I do agree with TX that it should be overseas but that probably won't happen since the last few years FIFA decide to be clever and put a date for international friendlies 48 hours after the Community Shield.
  3. Man U wanted to be top of the table so they made their kit like a tablecloth. Simples.
  4. I sat in those Real Madrid ones on the stadium tour and they are ridiculously comfy
  5. This one isn't bad either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-DrTmFAZ8k&feature=related
  6. they did steal One Step Beyond which made me sad But this made it all better
  7. Terry Connor or Mick McCarthy will be the best they can get
  8. Good on you for being one of the few lads clapping for him. Most people in West and East don't care which is a shame really.
  9. How hard is it to get tickets when being a true blue member for european games , or big games like man utd , arsenal ? Group stage games for Europe are easy. For knock-out games and the big ones like Man U, Arsenal, Spurs etc. the game is sold to members on loyalty points so you will need to go to a few games to have a chance of getting a ticket. The club will announce that on Monday you need 45 points and then Tuesday it will go down to 38 etc. You get 5 points for Europe group games, 1 for Arsenal, Man U, Man City, Spurs, Liverpool and 3 for all other Premier League games. Domestic cups are worth 5 points but if tickets are not selling much for them or a Europe group stage game they often go up to 8 points. Is it easy if you call straight away as soon as the ticket office call centre opens when these games go on sale? I have never bought a ticket from the call centre. It is easier to get them online because 95% of tickets are sold online but if you call them you get to choose specific seats.
  10. The minutes applause was rubbish. East and West stands just didn't give a fuck or all of them completely forgot which is sad because Didier has done so much for us and then they still sit in silence.
  11. I would say Jim but Steve's contributions to 'a certain thread' in the general chat area swayed my vote
  12. shame about the 11th minute thing. Most of the nobs in the East and West stands either forgot or didn't give a fuck. LOVE YOU DIDIER YOU LEGEND!
  13. Big respect to that lad in the East Upper today. It was his last game as a season ticket holder and he has had one since 1926!
  14. Both legs against Barcelona, Spurs in the FA Cup, Napoli in the champions league, FA Cup Final, Valencia in the Champions League. basically he has been our best player for the majority of the big games this season.
  15. why? On his day he is still unplayable. When Drogba is on form he is our best player. Having Torres to fill his boots is worrying because he can be a bit hit and miss and goes missing in big games. Also, Lukaku needs to learn from Drogba still.
  16. Who cares what kit we wear for the final? Its a piece of bloody nylon it wont change how well we play.
  17. Lets be wary of Blackburn though, this guy is a tactical genius
