You say 4 years but he was given limited playing time by Ancelotti and little action under Di Matteo. The period where he was featuring regularly he excelled at Bolton and was good for the first half of last season. How you can judge him on this season, when he has received such limited minutes, is laughable. Torres has been laregly terrible and Danny deserves a few more games to at least show us something. To criticise him on one start and a few minutes at the end of games is a joke.

Sturridge hasn't been given a proper chance to show his worth.

Yeah would rather ignore anything the Daily Heil have to say. But IF he really said that then oh boy

I doubt Arsenal would have sold RVP to Chelsea and even if they would have they got about £25m off Utd for a near 30 year old in the final year of his contract. They would have tried to charge us double. Ibrahimovic was never an option. Too much of a high earner that only PSG could offer him a way out of Milan.

Yes and no. We need a goalscorer but we also need a player that brings more to the table than just finishing off moves. We need a forward that is technically good and able to be part of the build-up, can pass and assist. Think of somebody like Anelka here. Our options up top are so weak one player isn't enough. We need two players, with one being an out-and-out striker and the other being an all-round type forward would be ideal. Look at the variation Utd and City have; Dzeko, Aguero, Tevez, Rooney, Van Persie, Hernandez etc. All different type of players who bring something different.

I was really impressed by Fernandinho in the games against Shakhtar. Perfect CM. He can defend, attack, pass, tackle everything. Great player.

You talk about encouragement and guidance but you're neglecting experience and self-motivation too. For example Oscar missed a good chance against Liverpool with his left foot. He didn't look entirely comfortable taking the shot. I believe a player as smart as him knows he will have to work on that. But things like that take time. You can't do it over a weekend. You make valid points but you're also impatient. Transition and improvement aren't just buzzwords, they're very real stages in a club and players development. Hazard and Oscar will be better at 23, 24, 25 than they are at 21 if they can avoid serious injuries. Players don't reach their full potential at 21. Just be a little patient and enjoy watching them grow. I'd rather watch the journey AND the final product as opposed to just watching players/clubs at their peak. It's much better that way, trust me.

Or maybe even McEachran, De Bruyne and Lukaku...

Calm down. We're just having a discussion, no need to be so touchy.

That was Stoke. He did well when he came on and was involved in the move that made the winning goal. Moses has been a good option for us and is a valuable squad player. Anybody complaining about him needs to get their head checked.

lol Henrique wassup? Long time friend

New strikerS! Plural. I have seen that we're linked with Rodrigo of Benfica and he would be a great development striker for us. He has great speed and is a good finisher. His speed would push teams back and open up space for the midfielders/wingers.

So he's alive then? : )

Yeah like last year when Messi tried to dribble past Lampard. He was tackled and that led to Drogba's goal. Good dribblers are going to lose the ball occasionally. That's a risk worth living with when the reward can be so good. Like yesterday when Hazard dribbled past two Liverpool players and created a chance for Torres.

I agree with some points that the OP had made but he has exaggerated a bit. The best point is that we don't have any rehearsed moves and patterns of play. We are a much weaker side than we should be because of the lack of a 'playbook' so to speak. Look at Shakhtar for instance, that was a very well drilled team that has worked hard in training. But with so many games to play, almost every three days, and with a smallish squad just how much training can be done? And even the days in-between games are being used to recuperate and travel. As for Hazard and Oscar they're only 21. They will fulfil their potential and become superstars but it's going to take more than 3 months of their first season at Chelsea. And besides they haven't done too badly have they? They have impressive stats so far and have both put in terrific performances. And I disagree strongly with the idea that Ferguson would turn Hazard into a superstar. He wouldn't know what to do with him. He'd probably try to turn him into a winger who just pumps balls into the box from wide areas. Look at how he has been with Kagawa, he barely know what to do with him. The reality is we're still a team in transition. We have some terrific pieces like Oscar and Hazard that we can build around for the long-term. Compare that to last season when were crying out for players of that quality. Our squad rebuilding is far from complete and I wouldn't be surprised if we do get a new manager who does have a playbook.

Quality player and most importantly an upgrade on what we have now.
-
You drop him and play somebody else. That's how football works.
-
This makes sense. Walcott is a home-grown player which we need to meet the FA requirements and he's also a decent player. Not great but then not bad either. Our squad is thin so the more options we have the better. I also think Sturridge is leaving soon so this would be a good replacement.
-
Should be playing yeah.
-
He's a very hard working player which is a great trait for young players to have. Think we have a good group of CMs at the club so hopefully a few can progress.
-
We have taken the piss out of Tottenham this year haha. FA Cup semi, Champions League place and Oscar.
-
Hope Azpilicueta gets a game here. He has got good speed and can deal with Sterling's pace much better than Ivan would I think. Maybe Ivanovic can play CB again? He was very good there vs Swansea. We should have too much quality for them. Hopefully we match them for work-rate and the quality will show itself. 2-0 Chelsea

Being poor defensively when his side was overloaded by the opposition is understandable. Ashley Cole struggled in the first game against Shakthar for the same reason. Shakhtar's game-plan was to play tight then spread the ball out to Srna. 45% of Shakhtar's attacking play coming from the right shows that Bertrand needed a lot of support. Hazard alone wasn't enough. The only thing that worried me about Bertrand's performance was his use of the ball. He was offered very little support defensively.
