I don't believe they would sack Di Matteo and get an interim manager again to keep things ready for Guardiola next summer. I think Guardiola has come to a decision and told the club whether he's taking the job or not. Here's my theory; Guardiola has told them he is not interested now and won't be interested next summer. Benitez is the new long-term (if such a thing exists at Chelsea) manager methinks.

As if today couldn't get any worse! EVA NOOOOOOOOOOOO
-
Balague loves Benitez. He's trying to get him the job.
-
I applaud RDM for trying Hazard as a 'false 9'. He did some very good things. He had a chance that Buffon saved, he held the ball up well several times and nearly created a goal for Mata. Would Torres have done any of that? Fuck no. He would have fallen over every single time. We have some good pieces for the long-term but we also have a lot of problems. It's going to be an interesting few years whatever happens.
-
I don't believe Danny is injured. They just don't want to use him as a striker for whatever reason.
-
Hazard is very good at playing with his back to goal. He's like 5'6 and is much harder to knock off the ball than Torres haha. I trust Hazard more than I trust Torres so let's go!
-
Cahill is part of the problem too. His bad games go unnoticed while Luiz gets a lot of blame.
-
RDM says he will drop Torres if he has to. Torres has started 19 out of 20 games this season. The one game he didn't start? He was suspended after his red card. Torres will start tonight and he start every game unless he is injured or suspended. RDM is just chatting rubbish about dropping him and playing Sturridge.
-
Haha this has to be the absolute worst troll EVER. Maybe he's a Tottenham fan. I think we need to start vetting new posters!
-
Cech is the best keeper in the world.
-
That's just nonsense. RDM is trying to give the impression that he has a choice. It's clear as day he has no control over Torres. People above him insist that he plays and he does what he's told. Torres will start every game unless he is injured/suspended. RDM allowed himself to be dictated to at the start of the season, he can't man up now all of a sudden. It's too late.
-
We need someone to play off and around. Falcao is a great player but Lewan is younger, cheaper and can play with his back to goal much better I think.
-
We will. Didn't you read/hear RDM's comments after the game? We're going to bring the bus back out and park it where it needs to be parked! As much as I've enjoyed some of the open games I am looking forward to a few steady games and some clean sheets. Hopefully starting tomorrow night.
-
I agree. He is never going to get a chance here and some fans are making life difficult for him. He's too good to play second fiddle to the joker that is currently in his position.
-
I would 'tolerate' the guy who at least runs and wants to score. Fair enough Danny has his issues but the abuse he gets when Torres gets PRAISED for the doing WORSE is disgusting. You have a guy who falls over the ball getting his name chanted for 5 minutes straight while Sturridge gets abuse for missing chances that Torres would never work to get.
-
Some (not all) really are. I went to the Wolves game a few weeks ago and Marin set up Torres for an easy chance. He was one on one with the keeper and he missed. What did the fans do? They started shouting TORRES TORRES. Now imagine that was Sturridge? He would have had to suffer abuse for the next 5 minutes. We have some great fans but there are some that are absolute idiots and I'm ashamed to say we support the same club.
-
Really needs to work on his core strength. Too easy to dispossess and shrug off the ball. The little touch for the Sturrdge chance late on however was excellent. Beautiful touch.
-
If Sturridge was Spanish and had blonde hair it would be a different story. Maybe he should dye his hair blonde and get some blue contacts.
-
You know what I find most sickening? How the club desperately try to promote this guy. He's every where taking interviews, on Chelse TV, media etc. If he doesn't fall over during the game they interview him about how great he was afterwards. Pat Nevin constantly chatting shit about how great his movement is and he has nobody to pick him out. When I went to Stamford Bridge earlier this season I was disgusted when I saw a massive picture of him on the wall of the stadium holding the Champions League trophy. Picture of guys like Drogba? Ramires? Mata? None. But a massive one of Fernando fucking Torres.
-
I hope we sit back and counter-attack them to death. We're in a good position to do that here. Pace on the break is important so Moses, Sturridge and Maybe Hazard. 4-3-3?
-
Ok he missed some chances today but AT LEAST HE WAS IN A POSITION TO EITHER MISS OR SCORE! Torres had ZERO efforts on goal. Not one. ZILCH. If today didn't prove that Sturridge HAS to start as a striker then I give up. Isn't it funny how our supports boo and shout at Sturridge when he does something silly but chant 'TORRES TORRES TORRES' every time he falls over the ball or ruins yet another move? Makes you wonder doesn't it.
-
They wouldn't want him. The Championship isn't some shit league. Strikers still have to run, work hard and try to score goals. Torres does none of those things. His level is more League 2 and I'm not even joking.
-
The worst striker in the league. There I said it. All he does is play with his hair during the game to make sure it's straight for the cameras. Sturridge did more in 20 minutes today as a striker than this clown has in two years. I CAN'T WAIT until he leaves. Can't wait.
-
Congrats. You have a very fine team there with a good manager in charge. I really rate Mulumbu, Odemwinge and Long.
-
Sturridge did more in 20 minutes playing as a striker than Torres has all season. He missed some chances but he also made the keeper work and more importantly was actually in a position to miss chances. I would rather that than somebody who does absolutely nothing but play with his hair for 90 minutes. If Sturridge doesn't start on Tuesday I will lose all faith in Di Matteo and won't defend him against the 'sack RDM' types. Thought Azpilicueta looked good today. Oscar really needs to improve his core strength. He'll never be a powerful player but he is too weak at present.
