It's great. You notice things you might have missed the first time. You get a much better sense of tactics, players performance etc.

Looking at Chelsea's talent pipeline ...

There is no point having talented youngsters if they aren't playing competitive football in their formative years. Look at Chalobah now and how impressive he is for Watford. That is the example. The sooner we get them playing football at a good level the better. -
Show some respect, Bosingwa was never that bad! haha Walker is an IDIOT for kicking the ball at Mata and then getting in his face. Loved when Mata made him look foolish at the end.

Are you serious? Mikel is so much better it's not even up for debate. And Mikel or Yaya? For the role of DM? I'd pick Mikel every single time. Now if you're talking about box to box then of course it's a no brainer, Yaya wins. But Mikel plays a very specialised role and is very, very good. When will he ever get the credit he deserves?!?!?!!?!?!? Mikel, only 25 years old! 270+ games and has won everything there is to win. Been here since he was 18-19. I think we're about to have a club legend on our hands in a few years time.

This guy is terrible. How many simple chances does he miss every single game? Embarrassing.

Fair point. But mainly because of the type of player we signed. David Luiz, despite how flamboyant he is, is a defender. Ramires is a hard-working box to box midfielder and Oscar is a hard-working attacking player. I'm sure if we signed the Robinho and Neymar's of this world we would have had trouble integrating Brazilians!

I personally think Cavani would be perfect for us.

So How Do We Know If We Are Doing Better?
Styles replied to terraloon's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
One way I like to judge is by comparing last season's results to this one. So far: Wigan away last season = 1 point Wigan away this season = 3 points Newcastle home last season = 0 points Newcastle home this season = 3 points QPR away last season = 0 points QPR away this season = 1 point Arsenal away last season = 1 point Arsenal away this season = 3 points We''ve got 8 more points from these games than we did last year. That is an improvement. -
Leave Oscar on the bench? Jeez, I'm glad you're not the manager. This kid is special. I strongly believe he will be even better than Hazard and Mata. It hasn't even been 6 weeks. Oscar, Hazard and Mata are still learning how to play together and it will take a lot longer than one month for that to happen. This is what everybody wanted; a transition from our old team to our new team. It takes time. There will be off games and losses along the way but the future is looking very bright. The idea of setting up our whole game for one player is ridiculous. What if he loses form or suffers injury? Football is a team game. If Hazard is going to be the player we want him to become he has to impose his will on games and perform. That's what separates the good from the great.

As Carlo would say we're in a really 'good moment'. Time to keep the foot on the gas. Two relatively easy fixtures before the international break and with amost a fully fit squad we should be looking at 3 points from both games. RDM can tinker with the team a beat here and we should still have enough to beat Nordsjaelland. Hopefully see a few players get a breather and some to make their European debuts for the club.

That wouldn't have made a difference. The incident was reported by an off-duty police officer and the CPS felt he had a case to answer. An apology to Anton would have made no difference. I believe that he did racially abuse Anton Ferdinand. I don't think Terry is a racist but a) he admitted using the term FBC and b ) his context excuse was flimsy at best. The judge did not clear him of racist abuse but felt that there wasn't enough evidence to convict him. That is very different to clearing somebody entirely. It's clear the FA took the Judge's comments in making their decision as the Judge left it open to interpretation. Time for Terry to take his punishment and move on from this sorry affair.

Great news. We're going to enjoy his peak years. Fingers crossed he can avoid any serious injury along with the rest of the guys.
-
Oscar, Hazard, Mata...wow. Once those guys have a proper striker ahead of them things will get very interesting. Sturridge can't come back soon enough. Torres had another shocker. How can one man lose possession and just run into players so often? It doesn't make any sense. Di Matteo needs to put him out of his misery soon. Solid games from Mikel and Ramires. I thought Ramires looked more assured and confident in the middle. His energy and speed bailed us out of trouble a few times and he wasn't as sloppy as he has been so far this season.
-
We should have enough to win this game against a physical yet ordinary Stoke team with a poor away record. I think Azpilicueta, Moses and Sturridge will play the Carling Cup game so there won't be many changes from the game against Juve. It's a shame because Sturridge deserves a chance soon. He was impressive against QPR. This. Plus I'm going to the game on Tuesday so would like to see him in action then. Selfish I know!
-
Torres' problem is that he doesn't excel at anything. There isn't a single aspect of his game that can be considered a strong point. He can't hold the ball up, his touch is inconsistent, he is a weak minded player with no courage physically or mentally, he doesn't have pace anymore, no awareness...I can go on all day. He doesn't have a single reliable quality to fall back on. His all round game is pathetic. He is completely irrelevant to the team game and it's like playing with 10 men with a stranger upfront doing his own thing. I can't believe just how poor a player he actually is. Disappointed isn't even the half of it. He's awful.
-
I don't think I'll ever get tired of Oscar's second goal. After watching him in the Olympics I was more exited about him joining than Hazard. I think I'm going to be proven right on that one.
-
Guardiola is just lurking in the shadows at that point.
-
I think our main priority should be finishing in the top 4 before anything else.
-
I have a lot of respect and admiration for Di Matteo but there are some worrying signs. He has a lot of tough decisions to make with players like Lampard, Ramires, Mata and a few others. It's going to be interesting to see what he does in the next few weeks.
-
Falcao, what a player he is. That's what 50m should buy you. Torres isn't even half the player Falcao is. Terrible performance last night from everybody. Was embarrassed watching that.
-
Really hope Oscar gets some minutes here. Hope to see Courtois as well, will be interesting to see how he does.
-
I can't tell you how pleased I am with this signing! I've been a big Moses fan for a while now. He has great speed and dribbling ability, something that will be very useful in those tight games at the business end of the season. Welcome and good luck.
-
Hopefully he does reach 200 this season because I have a funny feeling this is his last year at Chelsea.
