Pat Nevin really talks a lot of shit most of the time.

Our first 6-8 weeks of the season was strong because we have some very talented players and they were fresh. But it was ALWAYS going to come crashing down because you can't play every 3 days with the same players. It's impossible. Look at the joke that was the Carling Cup game against Man Utd. Mata played a 120 minutes while Ferguson could rest almost his entire first team. That game showed why Man Utd will challenge for everything while we'll struggle for 4th. Our squad is WEAK.

He's taking penalties now? The transformation to Fernando Torres FC is nearly complete. Just freekicks and goalkicks left now.

What objectives did we have when we began the season with the smallest squad in the league, lacking bodies in midfield and with a terrible striker guaranteed to start every game? With the way the squad was mismanaged over the summer it's clear the board didn't want to compete this season. If they did they are insane and/or braindead. Top 4 is the minimum and I think we're going to struggle to even achieve that.

He went up for a header in midfield and landed badly. I think all his weight fell onto one leg causing the injury.
-
I think you guys should take the Fellaini/transfer talk to its proper place. Let's keep it Oriol in here.
-
Saville is out in Japan with the team. I'd love to see him get a few minutes if only for the rest of the month. He has done really well at u21 level this year.
-
Sad news if true. Knee injuries are perhaps the worst kind of injury for football players. Look what has happened to Essien, three serious knee injuries and he can barely run any more. Unfortunately for Romeu this would be his second serious knee injury and he's only 21. He wasn't very mobile to begin with and this could affect his mobility even further. Really sad news. Get well soon Oriol.

Moses has been one of our best players this season. His directness adds variety to our attack and he deserves a place in the team on merit. Great transfer.
-
Exactly. He's still only 21 and has practically played every game. For an explosive player like him that has to have an effect. He clearly doesn't look as quick as he did at the start of the season.
-
The reality is that, like with most young players, he was hyped beyond his talent level. The transfer fee didn't help either but that's not his problem. Hazard is a very good player and he will be even in 2-3 years time. I didn't expect him to come here and be Messi. I think he has done very well but I think that's because my expectations weren't as great as the majority of our supporters.
-
I was 100% confident Cech was saving that penalty. Just a shame the rest of the team let him down so often. One of the few players in our team that deserves better.
-
The king of the meaningless goal. He should go to Denmark, it's about his level.
-
Think I'd cry...tears of laughter if that happened.

If reports are to be believed Roman is infatuated with all things Barcelona/Guardiola so he would be willing to give him more time and funds to realise his dream. Roman would also stick with it as long as he can because if Guardiola fails where do you go from there? We've ran through so many managers we're going to run out of options sooner or later.
-
I understand what you're saying. Jose is more suited to getting an underachieving group of top players over the line and making them winners. Our job is much bigger than that...unless we back him in the summer with 150m worth of ready-made talent and let him work his 'magic' for 3-4 years before he leaves again. The fact that the squad is so depleted could arguably be because they're waiting for Guardiola to come in and fill it up with players of his choosing. Why commit to having a full squad if Guardiola doesn't fancy a lot of the players? I don't think we will go for Mourinho simply because the club seems fixated with Guardiola and tiki-taka football. Mourinho would represent a big shift from what they've been working towards for the last 2 or so years.

I really want one of Dortmund or Shaktar to go all the way and win it.

I doubt they even did a proper medical. Rumor has it Liverpool feared he would be sent back on deadline day after Chelsea took a proper look at his knee.

Just heard the name Roberto Martinez mentioned as a potential manager. Now granted it was Jason Burt, an absolute joke of a journalist who gets almost everything wrong, who named him but he said that the club liked Martinez and I can sort of see why it may be true. Martinez is the manager who started the Swansea revolution. His sides play good football and regularly outplay the top teams. Have you ever watched a Wigan game against the lower sides? They have about 80% of the ball and embarrass the teams around them technically and tactically. He does some things that could really work at a top club with better players. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a serious contender for the job but stranger things have happened e.g. Rafa Benitez.
-
We were only good in the first half because West Ham played like cowards and had their best player sitting on the bench. They actually tried to play in the second half and we lost the half 3-0.
-
I watched some highlights again and noticed one counter that we had. We had a break 4 on 2, Ramires running with the ball from the right. Ivanovic showed more desire and hunger to get into a goalscoring position that Torres did. He actually outran him. Can you believe that? Our defender was more determined to get into the box and score a goal than our striker! God I hate this clown. Every day my hate increases for him.
-
We have some very stupid players who just make numerous mistakes every single game. How many counter attacks did they mess up in the first half? Shambles. What the fuck was Cahill doing for the first goal? He could have blocked off the only angle for the cross but decided to just wander off. Just stupid play and cost us. We have stupid players. They show zero intelligence during matches. To go from Drogba, Ballack, Carvalho, Lampard, Terry etc to the shit we have now is sickening. Fuck I want my old Chelsea back. This is a joke.
-
The atmosphere around the clubs stinks, the football is terrible and the owner and board show a total lack of class in almost everything that they do. We're becoming a laughing stock if we aren't already. Controversy and turmoil every season guaranteed. We can't go a month without something going wrong. Almost starting hate football.
-
It doesn't. Our problems are a lot deeper than just winning a few football matches.
-
I don't blame you. This is a sorry chapter in the clubs history. A manager nobody wants and an owner acting like a dictator.
