  1. at present for sure..maybe Cork will never be as good as Kaka is now, let alone was..but moving ahead in the future i`d say Cork would offer us more and save us 20mill or so..Kaka i don`t think has much left in the tank..Brazilian candles burn brightly but they don`t burn for long...is not many who have still been great after 30..only really Romario who was still world class after 30,Cafu and Roberto Carlos that i can think of.. so by that way of thinking..as mad as it may initially sound..i think wanting to keep Cork rather than signing another "won it all before, only here to get my final big payday" types, makes sense.
  2. i think it`s more a case of his true love has treated him badly and hasn`t shown signs of wanting him, so he`s settling for a munter ..if his true love opened the door for him in the next few months he`ll drop the munter like a hot rock..but if not he`ll settle for the munter for now until something better comes along..
  3. i guess it works that way on the players..or young and "streamlined" fans..not so much on the Jan Molby`s amongst us tho... i haven`t bought a shirt since that black with blue away Fly Emirates shirt..well i didn`t buy that as such ,my ex-wife did. i tend to prefer just chelsea T-shirts like the Victory in Europe one from `98...if i wear one knocking about or on home matchdays. on away days though i learnt a long time ago not to wear colours on them,o.k if you on a supporters coach but i usually stay overnight at a various friends houses on awaydays. my favorite Chelsea jersey of the ones i`ve seen them wear would be the two tone le coq sportif one from the 84-86...i hated the Chelsea Collection shirts in and around 87.i was bought a retro-replica one for christmas last year..i haven`t worn it yet..is still ugly as fook.
  4. i`d rather us finish 2nd in the English Premiership than finish 3rd and any reserve trophy. so whatever selections we need to make to win should be made...i`d have Cork on the bench to atleast dangle the carrot for him..otherwise might aswell wave goodbye to him for good.
  5. can always count me in as a JC fan....i`d suck a tramps cock if he ever is given a chance in our 25 when the season starts tho...just aint gonna happen, they just haven`t given him a sniff. i`d start Jack over any of our other players under-23.
  6. we could have done with him at times during this season, if we can get him on a free in the summer i`d be all for that.
  7. one of the first Chelsea games i went to was v Newcastle...about 30 years ago...we thrashed them 6-1 if i recall correctly...a repeat would be sweet..i hate Geordies almost as much as i hate Scousers ( i got to know people from all regions of the UK when in the army,it goes beyond football)
  8. well he`s 28..29 ,a big name...he would atleast be played whenever he can walk...i`m sure Carlo would think he`s still 4 years from his peak.
  9. i agree with the majority of what you say Warne..we need stability,we need Roman to stop thinking the Real Madrid way of doing things is the way to get what he really craves. i think everyone will agree that we are heading towards a crossroad in the history of the club though where some tough ruthless decisions are gonna have to be made on the careers of some of our legends and that is where i who am more in the Pro-Carlo camp than out of it, am concerned with what Carlo can give us going forward..maybe because he thinks/knows he`s already gone at the end of the season he just made the everything is fine with the squad remarks out of politeness, class of the guy etc...but if what he said was what he really thinks then coupled with his tactical short comings...i wouldn`t say sack him instantly but i would definately start looking at alternatives.
  10. sounds like nothing concrete at this stage..from what that article says it just sounds like a lot of speculation. from the Manchester paper may i add... i do hope we get an higher quality of medical people at the club tho..even the slightest sniff of an injury can cause panic amongst us and not without reason.
  11. if he has a buy out clause as stated, unless it says in the fine print that unless Chelsea come in for him(which is extremely unlikely)..we pay the same price as anyone else would have to,no more! where we may get fleeced would be in the wage demands. the player and his agent could try and say he will only sign for us for say 100k a week where as in private he would be happy to take 70k. we can always tell him to fook off tho..
  12. we shouldn`t buy for the sake of it..i love the kid i think he`s a fantastic player but i would want to know where he would be played,in what formation he would play in and whom he would be replacing or atleast getting ahead of in the pecking order. 5m may be the price we would have to pay Dortmund but there`s also the price in his salary and the price we would have to pay if we let the wrong player go to make a place for him. remember we paid Bayern nothing to get Ballack but he still cost us millions in wages and the chance to develope someone else already on our books.
  13. for a manager to have won the European Cup at every club he`s been at or as in the case of this season at Real, currently be in a European Cup semi- final with as much chance as the others of winning the whole thing..and yet still looks at his time with Chelsea as the happiest time of his career. that says a lot. so i think it`s pretty clear he would come back if asked. remember the ones in the board room he fell out with are either no longer with the club or their differences with Jose have been resolved or atleast to an amicable level. then theres Roman..i`ve lost track of the amount of times i`ve heard people say that Roman wouldn`t have him back because it would mean him admitting he was wrong and he would never do that. nobody likes to admit that they made a mistake..but we all do at some point. so when you consider that Roman has never given a public interview. where do you get this often uttered "fact" that Roman wont ever admit to being wrong from? *please note* i am not promoting the firing of Carlo and the Re-instating of Jose..atleast not at present.
  14. is better when sung in Germany..:eyebrows:
  15. Welcome to TalkChelsea Marie..and Congratulations for finding the best CFC site on the net. :blue scalf:
  16. haha Didier wouldn`t join a club who think their manager is the messiah for leading them to 4th place.
  17. Good luck Jack, even tho i know you don`t need it..looking forward to seeing you in the senior England squad in the not too distant future.. it`s gutting, but i guess we all knew it was coming. well done Roman, you are throwing another 10million down the drain and you don`t even realize it... i don`t know if i can keep watching the Youth team play anymore..when you know that all our young buds are gonna get thrown out before they have a chance to flourish.
  18. he increases their profit margins and that`s the bottom line for them. they actually can afford to buy any player they want if they cared about winning enough to pay some for it.
  19. i`m thinking Mikel is gonna end up with the biggest slice of their cake... quite a mix of famous peoples Birthday`s this week.. John Obi and David`s today..our Queen Betty yesterday and Hitler`s on wednesday.(not that i celebrated that in my bunker or anything..:eyebrows: )
  20. Cech for me too. JT and Bran have been fantastic too and i would personally say they both would be worthy of the award but Cech has won us more points. if he won it he would become the 3rd Chelsea goalie with some form of the name Peter to win CPOY. after Petar Borota in 1981 and Peter "The Cat" Bonetti won the first one in 1967. (the 5th Goalkeeper overall) it`s crazy to think that Kerry Dixon never won the award but Micky Droy and Frank Sinclair did..both somewhat of Cult heroes but you`d be hard pressed to find any chelsea fans who would class them as anywhere near great players.
  21. i haven`t stopped chuckling since i saw it this morning on SSN. reminds me of when Arsenal won the cup and Steve Bound fell off Tony Adams shoulders during the on-field celeratrations..resulting in him breaking his collar bone and the newspaper headlines "Bound falls off donkey" Ramos` response to the incident... "i didn`t drop it..it saw all the Real Madrid fans and it jumped out of my hands "
  22. i think we something like 3 or 4 goals behind them..however their last game is at home to Blackpool where as we travel to Everton..so although we both could win those games, if it comes to goal difference being close on that day..i should imagine Man U would go goal crazy against Blackpool to win the title. is great tho..because some of their fans have already celebrated the title weeks ago...would be the funniest thing in the history of british football if we ended up taking it off them. we have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
  23. indeed...4 days after Schalke knock them out of Europe and after Fergie has his heart attack...Ferdinand totally loses it on the pitch,Rooney takes out his frustration on a senile hooker etc..the away team with the best record at Old Trafford in football history come to town. as Fergie famously said himself..."it`s squeaky bum time" for THEM! we got nothing to lose...we have already been branded losers by media and fans alike all over the world.
  24. you are not the only one thinking it mate...we should keep on saying we have no chance tho..as it seems to be working..:eyebrows:
