  1. pure quality striker, any football fan that would try to rubbish that fact would instantly lose my respect for their opinion. and yes at 30 he still has it..but no thanks. if Carlo was still here he`d probably say he has yet to reach his peak and has years left, but not with a forward thinking manager at the helm now. you don`t add old parts to a new machine and that is what Eto`o would be.
  2. can`t bring myself to watch it..would be like watching a home video of me in happier times with someone who i loved deeply, but turned out to be a cheating whore.
  3. they were all class acts.they all had their brilliant moments for us even if they didn`t quite live upto the expectations of the majority..we could have done with all of them last season.. Ballack wasn`t the everything runs through him playmaker that we probably all expected him to be (as with Deco) but he still was a great player for us..he changed his game to help the team and in some aspects of his game, played his best stuff with us..by that i mean discipline, improved his defensive work etc..he will probably rank as one of the unluckiest players of all time, the amount of semi-finals and finals he lost in for both his clubs and country.most of which were lost unfairly. however although their departures probably was the biggest factor in us not retaining our title last season..i see their departures as a "one step backwards to take two steps forward" move. who knows if Ballack and Deco hadn`t left Josh might have been loaned out to a bad team for him and could have had his career derailed. he wouldn`t have got the game time with us last season and wouldn`t be set to have a bigger role in this upcoming season. plus we probably wouldn`t have got our hands on AVB and the cracks in our squad would have been papered over for yet another year. i do miss them tho yes.
  4. the two major runnings we have had with them..they started both fights and then squealed about it when we fought back each time..1st on the field in the 1966 World cup. 2.the Falklands War in 1982. i think what my grandad used to say about the Italians rings true for a lot of Argentinians..."they are the bravest people in the world...when they are the only ones carrying the weapons" Ernesto "Che" Guevara had some balls tho fair play and the Rugby guys who survived the plane crash on the Andes, spending something like 70 days in the snow by eating the dead. gotta respect that.. so to sum it up..yes there are low lives in Argentina..as there is in every country,in yours,in mine in everybodies. i do agree tho that Argentinian football fans in general are a bunch of scumbags.
  5. Blionheart touched upon something that i see a lot of in fan forums of team sports. often there is a group of fans who seem to believe that the first signing made in a transfer window is going to be the biggest/most important signing the team makes. but in reality the first signing is the easiest deal to complete, which is rarely the biggest/most important player. as for Falcao not being needed..i think he is. even if Torres returns to the form he displayed elsewhere,he couldn`t play a full season for a team who usually since he was there, played in fewer games per season than we have and looks like we will for years to come. we need to let our older strikers go when we can recoup some money for them. so Falcao then can challenge Torres for the starting CF berth and be the first option when he needs rest but we still need to win. and all that is going along with the assumption that Falcao and Torres can`t play together..which may not be the case. Torres,Falcao and Sturridge, sounds good to me with some width added and a creative CM/CAM. get about 28-35 for Drogba,Anelka and Kalou. which would pay for Falcao and most of the DeBruyne fee if not all.
  6. whenever galatasary are mentioned i think back to the time we were " welcomed to hell " by shall we say "hostile" fans..who were quiet as a church mouse after we put 5 past them,as their fans poured out long before the end..was like a trip to shite hart lane really..
  7. i was taking what you said seriously until you stated Coentrao is 10x`s better than the best LB in the world. the bridge in class is closing on Ashley. he`s not as far ahead of the competition than he used to be..but the North Pole is melting quicker than the competition is catching him. people outside of Portugal do watch these players in your country btw...we do recognize him.
  8. you can look at the photos they have uploaded..if every one of them is just in action on the field,at training grounds etc..then it`s a good chance that it`s fake. if there`s family on there..say a sister ,a cousin etc..then it is probably real..
  9. what he said was in regard to current players going out. that does not mean that he`s gonna wait that long to bring players in. he could share the opinion with a large percentage of the fan base that our squad was too small last season..and lets not forget a few players who were on the fringe of our 1st team squad have left already this summer.
  10. anyone else think AVB has the face of Harpo Marx and the hair of Chico Marx? or have i smoked too much today..
  11. am i the only one who thinks the swiss number 7 looks a ringer for Geremi ? atleast in the face.
  12. good points. ex-footballers become pundits when they either fail as coaches or haven`t got the balls to become one themselves. is something about former liverpool players and their skill of talking shit as pundits..Souness,Thompson,Beglin,Hansen,Collymore..
  13. for hetro guys with a vivid imagination, female tennis is in some ways the nearest we are gonna get to porn on mainstream daytime tv. .
  14. i love Guus..one of the greatest tactical minds in football history. at 64 tho he was never going to be our long term solution, just a stop gap for a couple of seasons in which time AVB would have probably been hired by one of our rivals on the European stage and we would be stuck with having to replace Guus with an inferior coach to what we got now whilst watching Andre winning trophies galore elsewhere. Guus seems to have chosen himself that he will not become our DoF. i hope this means then that he will become a coach or DoF elsewhere,as on one hand, yes i wouldn`t want us to face one of his teams in the CL. but i have not liked the news that he has been Romans advisor in the transfer market in the last 2 years. i think he has been free to meddle in CFC without the risk of having his head on the block when he makes mistakes. i don`t think that is right ,everyone should be held accountable for what they do in life.
  15. what excites me most about AVB 1.we will be more prepared than we have been for games in recent years.we will have a better understanding of our opponents strengths and weaknesses and our game-plan will be geared to expose their weaknesses and contain their strengths. 2.i don`t see him sticking by the same tactics, game after game when it`s not working. in-game change of tactics will also be back at CFC. 3.with him being so young and full of fresh ideas it is pretty clear to me that he was hired to lead us into a new direction and i believe he will be given time because of points number 1 & 2. which i believe was the reason Carlo was sacked in that he didn`t show that ability enough times, not because he went trophyless in his second season.
  16. Roman would send out the dogs and decades later they would still be looking for his body parts.
  17. that`s fair enough..shows he has class. am sure some folks will read too much into it and think "oooh it must be bad,if he can`t say" tho..
  18. i hope that isn`t true..as it sounds like he would like to keep meddling but without putting his head on the block by taking the job and responsibilty for his actions.
  19. well we`ve had Batman and Robben. Captain America (Roy Wegerle) the Silver Surfer (Ancelotti) Danger Mouse (Wise) and Penfold (Terry Phelan) Mr Freeze (Mutu) if the media is to be believed,Lex Luther (Roman) Wolverine (Jason Cundy) why not go for the Hulk? aslong as he don`t keep shredding his clothes every saturday,he should take some stopping
  20. haven`t been on there for a while so hadn`t seen that..that is pretty poor fair play.
  21. folks correct incorrect information in statements made by journalists every day including yourself. only right we should do the same to each other.
