good points. ex-footballers become pundits when they either fail as coaches or haven`t got the balls to become one themselves. is something about former liverpool players and their skill of talking shit as pundits..Souness,Thompson,Beglin,Hansen,Collymore.. -

i love Guus..one of the greatest tactical minds in football history. at 64 tho he was never going to be our long term solution, just a stop gap for a couple of seasons in which time AVB would have probably been hired by one of our rivals on the European stage and we would be stuck with having to replace Guus with an inferior coach to what we got now whilst watching Andre winning trophies galore elsewhere. Guus seems to have chosen himself that he will not become our DoF. i hope this means then that he will become a coach or DoF elsewhere,as on one hand, yes i wouldn`t want us to face one of his teams in the CL. but i have not liked the news that he has been Romans advisor in the transfer market in the last 2 years. i think he has been free to meddle in CFC without the risk of having his head on the block when he makes mistakes. i don`t think that is right ,everyone should be held accountable for what they do in life. -

what excites me most about AVB 1.we will be more prepared than we have been for games in recent years.we will have a better understanding of our opponents strengths and weaknesses and our game-plan will be geared to expose their weaknesses and contain their strengths. 2.i don`t see him sticking by the same tactics, game after game when it`s not working. in-game change of tactics will also be back at CFC. 3.with him being so young and full of fresh ideas it is pretty clear to me that he was hired to lead us into a new direction and i believe he will be given time because of points number 1 & 2. which i believe was the reason Carlo was sacked in that he didn`t show that ability enough times, not because he went trophyless in his second season. -

Roman would send out the dogs and decades later they would still be looking for his body parts. -

that`s fair enough..shows he has class. am sure some folks will read too much into it and think "oooh it must be bad,if he can`t say" tho.. -

i hope that isn`t true..as it sounds like he would like to keep meddling but without putting his head on the block by taking the job and responsibilty for his actions. -
well we`ve had Batman and Robben. Captain America (Roy Wegerle) the Silver Surfer (Ancelotti) Danger Mouse (Wise) and Penfold (Terry Phelan) Mr Freeze (Mutu) if the media is to be believed,Lex Luther (Roman) Wolverine (Jason Cundy) why not go for the Hulk? aslong as he don`t keep shredding his clothes every saturday,he should take some stopping

i guess you meant Lampard ,due to there being quite a gap in the ages of JT and AVB. -
Shane i think it`s time to put the bottle down and go to bed..you must be steaming!!!

if we sign him and he stays at Genk until he`s ready and Petr is winding down. then that sounds a good long-term plan. but i always have my doubts when Chelsea and a long term plan are coupled together.

if you got Sky Sports News turn it on now...they just said "a significant development in the last few seconds to be revealed after the break" -
the thing with Falcao that i have picked up from the games i`ve seen him play in. are that his great skill is his movement to get on the end of an attack and his finishing..but he doesn`t do much other than that..kinda like Jimmy Greaves. a great player but i don`t see him and Torres becoming a great partnership because of it. i haven`t seen him play that often tho..perhaps 9 or 10 times over the years. so i could be wrong.

that would be a dream duo IMO. Guus would be great as manager but only a short term solution. if Roman is prepared to pay Andre`s huge buy-out clause then maybe he believes in him enough to let him become our long term manager and at AVB`s age the guy could in theory be our manager for the next 35 years..unlikely i know that he would last that long but going off the guy`s age it`s possible. Villa-Boas was my first choice all along this summer but i didn`t think CFC would go for him. -
he needs to play in less games per season than he has in the past (apart from last season) but i think it`s premature to think he`s past it at 33.

i agree. it would be like a kid passing his exams and then being told he has to sit them again. Ryan is smart..he knows that he can`t get ahead of the worlds greatest left back at present, but he can and is willing to be his understudy before eventually taking over from him. that smartness could however lead to his departure if we try to treat him like a fool.
-
he was our first ever manager. oh not that John Robertson..the one who played for Forest and scored the only goal in their European Cup final win over Hamburg in 1980.. seriously tho i can remember the one you are talking about...as a kid i thought he was great and wanted us to sign him,but then he came to England(well if you count Newcastle as English..is not like anyone speaks it there) and i was glad that we didn`t. we took Durie from Hibs instead..and then Robert Fleck..

maybe i`m looking at a different player than the majority, but whenever i`ve seen Turan play, it`s his right foot that appears to be his best.
