Actually no one will get a wages rise because they are all men and not babies. Fabregas and Costa especially already on £150k per week each and just signed last summer, Hazard recently signed a new £200k a week contract up from £170k before where he became one of our highest earner when he signed. Doubt any of them care even if Pogba will earn £300k a week here. Pogba would be but only because every big club in Europe want him...City, PSG, Madrid, Barca. Simple supply and demand really. I am not saying it is worth it but I would prefer we at least come out and admit we can't afford him instead of playing the self-comforting game of talking about 'policies' and all that. That is what bitter smaller clubs usually do when they can't get a top player.
-
That is what everyone say when they lose out on a top player or can't afford him. If we had this mentality before we definitely wouldn't have got Hazard. Sometime a player is special he is worth it, if you try to go by rigid 'structure' all the time you will end up like Arsenal with a socialist like wages and bad players earn nearly as much as the good ones.

Anyone else frustated that we seems to be the only team that cares about FFP? The likes of City and Liverpool going out there and spending £50-£100m like it is nothing while we are supposed to be earning £300m+ a year in revenue and have to operate with a 1 in 1 out policy? FFS we are not Arsenal/Spurs, can't we just give Moses back to Stoke on loan and sign Pedro or something? Just sell Mikel for £10m and sign Witsel £25m. It is almosts as if last summer was too good for us and we believe we can carry on doing that from now on when in reality we had lot of luck(Lukaku 28m, Luiz 50m, Schurrle 23m) which is unlikely to happen again.
-
He signed a new contract and being hailed as future Madrid captain so really no chance. That was thanks to our excellent scouting team and no other teams chasing those players. Cahill from a Bolton facing relegation with 6 months left on contract, Dave from Marseille where he was a relatively unkown quality, Terry we all know, Ivanovic again another lucky find and took time to settle, Zouma was just potential and again no real other bidders. We did excellent business but it won't always happen.
-
Really hope we actually take the game serious as we got CS clash against Arsenal next weekend. I would rather we play most of the 1st team for 45-60 mins rather than just half an hour for each players and the rest just throw in youngsters that we know won't play at all this season for the sake of it.
-
Shit that kinda also makes sense too, I mean if Zouma has costed 32m instead of 12m you can be damn sure he would have played at least 40 games last season. I never thought of this and no one really wanna discuss it but sometime for a youngster higher fee means more pressure from the manager to play him(if he is good enough).
-
Think everyone here hopes we get him, just not at any price. It is like we all want top players like Pogba, Grizemann...etc but not at the prices of £100m, £50m and so on.
-
Tbf he knows he is probably on his last chance at Chelsea so this season he will try much harder and I hope he succeeds and we get the reward. Either he will turn his career around and become one of our most important player or he could be off in Jan like Schurrle, Mata and Kevin.
-
Tbf Ivanovic and Dave didn't do too badly, this is like Di Maria leaving Real because they have other stars in similar positions albeit less significant.
-
Just announced he will not renew contract with Leicester, if Mikel leaves and no top class CDM is available could we not sign this guy on a 1 year deal? He proves last season that he still can do it at top level, here he won't play every week either and won't demand lot of money. Mou also likes him from his time at Inter.
-
Doubt anyone here watch him even once, let alone extensively to give a summary. I think we can only hope he is a Zouma/Varane defender and not the flavor of the month who just had one good season because I never heard of him before until we are linked a few weeks ago.
-
Depends, sometime players are genuinely good like Lewandowski,Robben...etc. If he proves it too in the CL then we know we missed out on a gem
-
He didn't talk about him specificly in any interview but Enrique basically came out a few days ago and said it is the player's decision but he wants Pedro to stay. So it is all up to the player now and the manager/president would want him to stay if he is undecided. Quite similar to our Cech case this summer actually.
-
Basically the guy that signed Turan won and he said he doesn't really like Pogba because Enrique doesn't want Pogba so we can assume they won't pursue him anymore at least until next summer at the latest.
-
Struggling means getting double figure for goals and assists despite being benched for quite a bit for the last 2 seasons? Give me some more of that please, I mean Willian one of our best player can't even get past that figure for both goals and assits haha Also who struggled apart from Kagawa and Sahin? Lewandowski bossing it at Bayern.
-
This guy is a bit of an unknown player, I doubt anyone here have seen him live more than 5 times including myself. However for 35m euros I would certainly hope he is good as that is the type of fee you pay for someone that is in top 10 in the world in their position. Can't really go off statistic and highlight either because he is a CDM and not an attacking mid. Lets just hope he turns out to be a Willian/Matic and not Afonso Alves/Zhurkov
-
So you think Isco is miles ahead of Gotze? hahaahhahahaha
-
Tbh he basically played 532 or something like that and basically refused to get out of their own half. Torres had a really good chance in the 1st min I remember and we dominated possession but couldn't find a way through then they got that late goal. Nothing could be done differently, maybe if we had someone like Hazard at the time it would have been different but we were lacking a true creative mid during this period.
-
Bayern have told Juve he will cost 40m euros, wtf are we waiting for? He is just as good as Isco if not better, a couple of ok years at Bayern doesn't change the fact that he is still one of the best CAM in the world
-
Its ok, we are aiming to just get top 4 and with our current squad we are more than good enough maybe a shot at the title again if our injury record is as good as last season and Terry bossing 38 games again.
-
10-11 was a bad season overall, that MU team was not that good anyway with Rooney sulking for the 1st part of it, they really had no world class player on form that season but relied on others like Nani and Chicharito. We with all our best players still there such as Malouda, Lampard, Cole, Terry...etc should be leading it but we bottled it from Oct-Jan and it was too late to savage at the end.
-
Gabi, Tiago are 30+ and they can't keep up with the intensive tactics of Simeone forever. Koke is better on the wing and as CAM as he is creative as well as hardworking, Suarez actually fell out of favor with Simeone for quite a bit at the beginning of last season but at the end he got back into the team. Saul just broke his leg a few months ago and no telling how good he will be.
-
If we are willing to pay 20-30m for Stones why not sum up £5m more and activate this guy's release clause? His agent is Mendes and he was the best CB in La Liga last season. Also he is only 27 years old, could potentially have 5+ years ahead of him.
-
Stones 30m+, Zouma 10m says it all. I am not against this signing but not at ANY PRICE, as many have said £25-£30m max at a push is what we should pay. If we are being mugged off like City did with Sterling then all our hard works the past few years have been useless and might as well go back to overpay spree days before 2011.
