While originally against the buy because of the price Everton would want, I am starting to think it doesn't matter anymore. I mean since the board is making it clear that we will most likely not sign any other high profile players, does it really matter if we spend 50m or 25m on Stones? It is not like that 25m we save we are gonna go out there and get Pedro or Witsel as well. Maybe we have to overpay once in a while for the club to realize that you don't always sign players for the 'perfect' price and abandon this Arsenal-like approach of selling players and replace with players that can only cost the same. So if he is gonna be our only signing this window, does it really matter anymore if he costs 30m or 50m?

Because scoring goals are what separated top wingers from just great wingers. No one is asking him to go out and bang in 40 goals like Neymar but like others said around 20 every season is something he should be aiming for. Atm he is around 15 goals and I believe half of that are pen, he is capable of hitting 20 every season now he is entering the peak of his career. That is why Willian is often overlooked as if only he has contributed to something more substantial, he would be considered one of the best winger in the world but as it is he is just considered a good winger.

I know, never said Remy wasn't good enough but are you confident that he will be good enough when we play against PSG/Barcelona...etc? If it is just BPL then I am not worried I think Remy can get 20 goals if he is playing consistently every week and with goals from around the team it won't be a problem for us. It is really the CL that is my concern.

He was too good last season, who to say it will ever be the same again with this hamstring keeps occuring? He has already shown in preseason that he is not exactly at his best form and sharpness, imagine sitting a few months out without touching the ball... Torres was good too in 2009-10, 6 months later we all know what happened, he was never the same again. Also we don't know how good Falcao is yet, these 2 games so far shown nothing but the fact that he can't press well and takes good pens. Remy is proven but we don't know how he will do in the biggest of matches. It is one thing scoring consistently against the likes of Sunderland and another leading the line against Barcelona in CL last 16. At best he could be our own Giroud but that won't win us titles.

Any striker to look at if the worst happens to Costa? Lacazette Benzema Ibra(hard to get) Higuain Llorente Chicharito These are the only options that is good enough for Chelsea and the top 3 is pretty much impossible to get. Imagine having to rely on Remy and Falcao for the majority of this season
