Candidates for the new Chelsea management

  1. 1. Who you want to see as the new manager?

Louis Van Gaal took Bayern Munich to Finals against all odds. Why not go for him.?

Hiddink's stint at Chelsea is very deceiving for the following reasons:

1. As someone pointed out...He came under NO Presssure with Team already out of several top competitions.

2. When a New manager is appointed, all players hit peak because they want to impress the new manager. Look at the first 10 games of Avram, Scolari, Hiddink and Ancelotti.

3. His club management record isnt something you would call great. The last great feat he achieved was over 2 decades ago.

4. He failed miserably at Real Madrid over an entire season. We have a similar structure here.

Now his positives:

1. Very good as an International Manager.

2. Has a good record in making ordinary teams surpass expectations in international tournaments. Hasnt won anything though.

The first year we may well win the league under him because players are eager to perform well under a new manager. Its the second year where his management will be tested, when players are in their comfort zones and he faces a task in keeping everyone happy.

Agree with this 100000%. I guarantee most of our fans who want Hiddink, want him based on 4months of him being here. What happened with his almighty Russia team before World Cup? Thats right they miserably didnt qualify. He is nothing special. But, we will see next May, and if we were to finish 4th and scrape CL qualification, wonder how many of his admirers would suddenly realise

Carlo was 'nothing special' either until he won the Double, then he could do no wrong. Suddenly we have a bad season and he's public enemy number one. My point is football supporters are fickle - remember when we all used to boo Torres and call him a ladyboy? (cue the three or four members who say ' I didn't' - yeah, bullshit, of course you didn't ).

I never called him that. Peroxide Tranny, maybe.

People shouldnt overestimate the importance of a coach - as JT said, even under Mourinho, once you get on the pitch, the manager is mostly irrelevant for 90 minutes.....

Besides, Ancelotti had lost the dressing room, that was obvious. Guus was massively popular - remember the whole squad got him £25,000 watch (or something along those lines) to stay at the club.

If Carlo was only in for the rest of the season he could have got that too, The fact is that as Warnie said, The last think Hiddink did worth note in club football was over two decades go. That speaks volumes.

I think the only manager worth their salt is one that the players respect, will play for, and perform to their best. That normally precludes someone who hasnt played themselves. Exceptions would be Mourinho, and the players playing for themselves after Mourinho left, and we were left with the sack of spuds putting out cones.

Hiddink definitely falls into the respect category -and I think he will return shortly , followed by success for the club at last in the CL

No. I'm sure they want Hiddink because they understand enough about football to know that Hiddink is way better than Carlo.

I'm sure you dont know anything about Hiddink besides his 4 month spell.

Football is not only CL + PL.

You can't judge a managers job based in simple statistics. So, that speaks zero volume. Hiddink is a great manager, and thats beyond doubt.

In Hiddinks second spell at PSV he bought Park Ji Sung, Lee (Tottenham left back), Alex, Gomes, Farfan and Beasley. Interestingly, all were bought outside of Europe having never played here and all were sold to established European clubs at a profit....I think this bloke could really take our club forward....

He didn't buy Alex. We bought Alex from Santos and loaned him to PSV since he couldn't get a WP at the time.

He's a great International manager. We all saw what happened with Scolari.

You cant compare him to Scolari. Hiddink has won the European Cup and managed clubs sides in Europe for a total of 14 yrs......Plus he knew when to shave his tache off!!!!!

Like i said i can remember Hiddink being in charge of Madrid, either after or before Heynckes, and getting sacked. And i think he had a spell in turkey and got sacked. Had a very good Russia side last year, and failed qualifications miserably. He has done nothing of real note other than 1988 CL, which carlo won twice, but i forgot Carlo is public enemy number 1 amongst some CFC fans.

Ok, he got Russia to Euros semi finals and did ok at Korea, but thats sod all to club management, remind me, how are his Turkey side doing at the moment? And Turkey are hardly a poor side
