I still think it would be better if they built it inside the power plant itself rather than adjacent to it.

Hopefully this is true, although the article mentions 'incorporating' the power plant in the stadium...that doesn't sound good :(

Perhaps, but it's likely that it's not possible. Have these sketches by the architect been posted?

Fascinating.

Can guarantee he was paid thousands of pounds to do those 'sketches'. They're terrible!!

Apparently the club are working with KPF and Rafael Vinoly, so I wouldn't worry about the quality of people we've hired, it'll be amazing.

Impossible the BPS is to small to have a ground built entirely within its current structure, the only way to incorporate the BPS is to demolish the east turbine hall (unlisted part) and use the west turbine hall and smoke stacks as the shell to a stand, the quick sketches apparently from one of the development partners seems to confirm that this is the plan.

It is possible, if we keep those 4 towers and their supporting structures and knock down everything else.

Its not possible as the east turbine hall and control room are listed and so can't be gutted and the size of the power station is 150 metres by 170 metres at their furthest points so the actual inside bit inside to build within is quite a lot smaller so in theory once you had the pitch which would be circa 105 metres long by 70 metres wide leaving next to no room for any stands.

So like I said not possible no matter how many pretty pictures are knocked up in photoshop.

if we're moving to battersea power station, just demolish the whole building down and rebuild

The club have already confirmed they'll be retaining the main structure, not tearing down the building is an essential feature of the proposed stadium.

just saying that if it's not possible to build a 60,000 to 70,000 stadium within the current building
