Vesper 31,181
good for us (not just the Pool loss) with that goal to make it being 1 3 chalked off BUT Szoboszlai straight red carded for denial of a goal scoring opportunity
Vesper 31,181
if that goal would have counted, Brentford would have went over Pool into 6th based off GD
Pizy 19,381
We have to continue winning this little run of easier matches and then hope Liverpool are demoralized a bit and have a wobble. That’s probably our best route to top 5.

Stats 7,230
Aston Villa were never title contenders. I remember they beat us at the Bridge and people were saying can they challenge Arsenal and I was like by 38 games, Villa will be fighting for the UCL places. When we lost to Fulham, Villa went 11/12 points ahead of us. Now we are what 4 points behind them? I maintained from then that we will finish above them. Forest was in a similar position and ended up in what 7th place or so last season? Villa should be happy City won because they have a nice little gap over 5th spot right now and them getting UCL would be a fantastic achievement. I said 5th spot, because it most certainly will be 5 teams getting UCL places again. Blue Armour and Strike 1

Once the pressure ramps up you could definitely see them wilting. I could see us overtaking them in the end if Palmer rounds into form and our keys guys stay fit. This month is a nice window to widen that gap to Liverpool since they play Sunderland and Forest away and we have Leeds and Burnley at home. Even West Ham isn’t the guaranteed 3 points currently as we ourselves witnessed. I think they play them soon. Strike

Villa have hit 60+ points for three straight seasons and are on course for a fourth one. They have a coach and plenty of players with experience of handling this stretch.
