It would be insane if Forest somehow won the Europa Leage AND still got relegated from the EPL.

You would have a CHAMPIONSHIP team in the Champions League

Lololol

The ultimate worst outcome would be we finish 7th, or worse, and Pool or NUFC  finish 6th, 7th, or worse as well, but one of them (far more likely Pool than NUFC) wins the CL this season.

We could in theory be in either the Europa League, or worse thr Conference League again, or worst of all, no European footie, whilst 6 or even 7 EPL teams go to the Champions League.

Imagine if Arse, Citeh, Villa, Manure, Pool, NUFC and possibly even a possibly relegated Forest side ALL get CL and we are stuck in the shit Congerence League meat grinder again!

So, you would rather roll the dice that

we finish above Pool AND Manure AND NUFC and all the rest of the EPL (save for Arse, Citeh, and Villa) if there are 4 spots

OR

Above two of the 3 (and the rest of the EPL, save for the top 3 now) if there are 5 CL spots

??????

We still have a chance to get to the CL even if we finish out an EPL spot

BUT

we would need to WIN the CL this year

There is no longer any cap on a league in terms of extra spaces.

In theory the EPL could have SEVEN teams go

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th place (if we get 5 CL places) in the EPL.

And then a 6th or worse place EPL team wins the CL for spot 6

And a 6th or worse place EPL team (like Spuds did last season) wins the Europa League for the 7th CL spot

That is why we have 6 CL teams in atm.

I believe we still can get top 4. Yes, I would take the chance that United's form is the 'honeymoon' period and they will soon have their usual slip ups against lower placed teams. Our next 4 games are all against relegation candidates. West Ham, Wolves, Leeds and Burnley next. We should be aiming for maximum points out of all of these and strengthening our top 4 case.

Arse 2 United 3

Shows there's no reason why we can't overturn the Carabao Cup semi 💙

with the pressure to win the premier growing up, I think arsenal could rotate the team against us in the second leg

really entertaining game

Leeds are SO much better than they were in the first part of the season

and Everton finally have Branthwaite and KDH back (Grealish still out)

Hopefully we can make up for the 3-1 loss in a few weeks time

Why Holland could be key to Man Utd's revival

Ask people who know Steve Holland well how they would describe the former Chelsea and England coach and the same phrase is repeated.

"Football is his life," a source told BBC Sport. "Whether it's Champions League, thoughts on players or something else, he has a hell of a brain when it comes to football detail."

It explains why, instead of sitting back and reflecting on the success of Manchester United's 3-2 win at Arsenal, Holland spent the return journey to North West England going through footage of the victory with head coach Michael Carrick and the rest of his backroom team to come up with a plan for Sunday's home game against Fulham.

Speaking to Sky Sports before the Manchester City game, Maguire recalled his own dealings with Holland.

"He was magnificent for England," he said. "We all knew what we were doing.

"I can remember a lot of time working with Steve and he really does drill in tactically how to defend and how to keep the ball out of the back of the net.

"It's basics but really disciplined basics. I feel he will have a big part to play in making our defensive record a lot better."

At Chelsea, Holland was impressing. He survived the tenures of Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink before quitting to concentrate solely on England after Chelsea won the Premier League in Antonio Conte's first season in charge.

"At a big club, every day is a drama," Holland told the Coaches Voice. "It is never quite as bad as it is made out to be but your ability to handle these moments are decisive.

"My experience of life at Chelsea has taught me it is about winning. That winning mentality doesn't include feeling sorry for yourself or making excuses. It means you analyse and push to do better next time."

Wish we still had him...
