The FA Cup could become a midweek competition with no replays under plans being discussed by the Football Association and Premier League clubs.
Two-legged League Cup semi-finals may also be scrapped with the aim of reducing fixture congestion and improving the performances of English clubs in Europe and the England team.

No decision has been made over what would be one of the biggest shake-ups of the domestic calendar for years but there is a growing consensus that the calendar needs to be reduced.
The shift of the 2022 World Cup to the winter last year prompted FA vice-chairman David Gill to warn that FA Cup replays and two-leg League Cup semi-finals may have to be axed that season

I know the FA cup it's all about history but the schedule is too big atm.

There are way too many games in one season with home cup, let alone two in which after a draw you have to replay the game.

Just turned on 5live and surprise surprise their talking about fucking Man United. Biggest game by a country mile this weekend us against City. All they want to talk about is Van Gaal, Yes last night was a bad result but in all probability they will slaughter the Danes in the second leg. The English media are obsessed with Man United and when anything goes wrong it's treated like a full blown crisis. When there doing well it's sycophantic arse licking especially when it comes to Fergie.who frankly could go on to the pitch at half a time have a shit on the centre spot and someone from the press box would come running out with toilet paper and wipe his hairy arse for him.
