He’s had a generationally good group of players all in their primes simultaneously. Now almost that entire core has aged poorly and the lack of squad refreshing is biting them badly.

And tbh, I don’t think this will be a smooth, super quick fix by just spending a bunch of money. Getting players who are just as good as Walker, KDB, Gündogan, Mahrez, etc will be extremely difficult. They need 2 new starting fullbacks, 2 new starting wingers, at least 2 new midfielders, AND another forward.

They need MAJOR surgery. Will Pep want to stick around for that?

I highly doubt it, especially with the verdict due in Feb/March about all those charges. Signing that extension looks more stupid by the day.

Never was a fan of Peppy but he stayed 4 years in Barcelona, 3 years in Bayern and 9 seasons at City. In today's football even 3 years can be considered remarkably long. I mean just look at Chelsea last 20 years.

Pep has had an open chequebook at City from the moment he walked in the door. If City is found guilty of most, if not all, charges, his entire time in England will be tarnished.

What you talking about? We where worse with Mourinho.

Pep still the best just a couple of upgrades on the summer and they should be good to go.

When did we lose 8 in 11 games? I'll wait.

His experience says it's enough. In 21/22 season they won title with 93 points and Gabriel Jesus was only striker and often on the bench or right side.

Teams were still struggling with the financial effect COVID had. A lot has changed in three years, with the league as a whole probably being the strongest it has ever been in terms of talent.

What place we finish the season Mourinho was sacked?

Yes worse.

I didn't ask that nor mention it. City are going through a period that we have NEVER experienced over the past two decades.
