Why is it that players are either young and talented up until they are 24. Or above that and on the decline. He had a bad season. Which wasn't even that bad, played out of position. You can't say he is in decline after 1 bad season. Otherwise drogba was on the decline twice. And that was all before 2011.

Put rooney back up front and i am fairly sure he can do a better job than the 2 we have got and work well with lukaku. After all rooney is versatile, so lukaku would still gets lots if game time.

If he wants to leave and we can get him for 20-25 million then I definitely think we should get him.

What is also worth noting, if Rooney is or can get back to being as good as he use to be, would United sell to us? absolutely no chance.

They wouldn't know whether he could or not though. ATM he is a bit surplus to requirements and we are offering good money for him.Ofc they wouldn't love to sell to their rivals, but it wouldn't be that surprising. After all, 25 mil is still 25 mil.

Oh right! Silly me, still, long long time ago. As much as I love to see Rooney joins us I just don't think United would sell. Shame really, because imo out of all rumored forwards, Rooney suits us the best.

Anyone still hoping we move for Rooney?

I'd rather buy Rooney who's proven for years that he can get it done in the premier league than spend double on Cavani. Just think a rejuvenated and hungry Rooney is a safer bet than splunking a massive fee on another gamble.

Hope he's our priority.

I thought the whole point of signing expensive players was to have better options than our opponents...

For me if Rooney isn't good enough to start for United because frankly, RVP is just a lot better than him, then he isn't good enough for Chelsea.

If Rooney was played in his natural center forward position like RvP was he'd have scored loads more. He proved that the season before.

If Rooney spearheaded an attack with Mata and Hazard behind him I'd bet a substantial amount of money that he'd be amongst the top scorers in the league.

And unlike some of the huge money strikers we've been after, Rooney will also provide double digit assists and can play multiple positions.

that's a lot of 'ifs'...

I look a Rooney and he looks heavier than he did before, so perhaps the player you've been referring to is no more?!

I'm not saying he's trash and he should retire, but I still remember the whole Torres ordeal, and Torres too did not look like the player he once was. And he certainly wasn't and isn't worth 50M.
