Sheva. 5,373
If Rooney doesn't join Chelsea, I would be happy to see Lukaku banging them in for us this season.. he deserves the spotlight because he worked so hard under Clarke at West Brom, and he WILL be the new Drogba!I'm not sure if Rooney will be a big hit anyway.. too much money for a player who just is not in the right mindset. He doesn't know what he wants.. his current situation is similar to what Torres was going through before he made the move to us from Liverpool.. alone and unwanted. We paid £50m for him, and in the 2 years he's been at Chelsea, he has never seen his best.If we do sign Rooney, great! But there's too much negativity in his attitude... Lukaku, from what I've been reading, seems pumped up and ready! From that, I know who I'd pick week in week out! Being pumped up and being good enough are two different things. captainjt26 106
Rooney ready to hand in transfer request THIS WEEK as Chelsea line up £40m bidhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2384373/Wayne-Rooney-prepares-hand-transfer-request-week.htmlMirror and Dailymail reporting both that he will hand in a transfer-request.I saw that and of course the daily star had to do a 180 turn from every other rumorLets not pull out all the stops on Wayne and actually try to get a CDM like DDR or L. GustavoWHY WHY WHYDave--- CAHILL---JT---COLE(LAMPS/LUIZ/RAMIRES/MIKEL/V.GINKEL/ESSIEN)---MATA---OSCAR---HAZARD-------------LUKAKU----------------Personally I think a striker is our top priority ! Magic Lamps 11,692
If he wanted to stay, why hasn't he come out and immediately rubbished it on twitter or his official site? He released a statement before doing just that. That's easy. He does not want to rob himself of leverage to force his selection. Rooney does not want to leave but he wants to play. So he says he is unhappy because he is. When he now says he wants to stay anyway, Moyes would have such a strong position, Rooney could just take his place on the bench voluntarily. The point that annoys me the most is that our bid obviously only was a means to elongate Roo's leverage but never a serious opportunity. Obviously Mou fall for all this "I am unhappy" BS

Who do you think the best option for our CDM? I'd say Mikel and to some extend Essien. But then again I woudn't call both of them world-class( Essien used to be). The rest are players with attacking intend. We need a spine for our team like Schweinstieger is to Bayern which is absolutely vital.
Mouri_Matic 560
What part of your statement makes him a mercenary then? You think Lampard plays for love and a packet of hob knobs once week? That he held MU ransom to £250k per week, if he was really 'love' MU, he wouldn't have done that. Why on earth we need to jump in? Since when we give a shit about who Arsenal sign LMFAO.Because he is one of the top 10 player in the world and not Oliver Giroud? We are letting go a top class player right in front of us. Sheva. 5,373
Rooney is not going to be on the bench, he's a starter, the problem - according to the media at least - is he wants to play as striker like he was doing 2 seasons ago and was scoring shit loads. No one really knows what he wants, might be trying to con his way to another pay raise. Doubt he would want another pay raise, £250k per week is already one of the most in the world already. He would have a hard time convincing the club of matching it for the next contract let alone increases it haha.

Mouri_Matic 560
Yeah. Also a good plan.In fact actually we could just sell him even for like £4m and I am sure either of those teams would bite our hand off. Or the like of Cardiff, Southampton...etc
