The Serie A Thread

In all seriousness, it's going to be a fascinating game but also might be a boring one with Benitez possibly making it cagey, like he always do. And his approach might be dictated by the fact he's got a key Champions League game against Marseille to come after that and with this game to be played on a Friday (18th October) now, he might be slightly short on players for selection. Saw earlier that Napoli's South American players won't be able to get in before Wednesday evening. So they only got 1 training session apparently before the game on Friday.
Worst of all is that there will be people in here praising Benitez to the limits if he gets a typical cagey draw against Roma!

He will be the best manager in the world and the source of everything good that comes from Napoli...

Brazilian midfielder Kaka will return to Milan after four years at Real Madrid, according to local media reports. The 31-year-old last week admitted he wanted to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, having joined from Milan in 2009 for a then world record fee of €70m. Kaka is set to sign a reported two-year free transfer deal. He was a Milan fan favourite after six years at the club during which they won one Serie A title, the UEFA Champions League and the World Club Championship.

This news is 30 days old. Kaka already signed for Milan, already played (bad) a match, and as usual for Milan's players already got injuried. He will play next match after 3 weeks of stop

Moratti has sold Inter to Indonesian media magnate Erick Thohir. 70% of the club's share has apparently gone to the new owner and his takeover is said to be worth $465 million..

Pjanic with his 2nd. Roma 2-0 vs. Napoli. 20 minutes left. Roma aren't pretenders.

Raul garcia has got roma playing champagne football. They are counter attacking at pace and full throttle.

De rossi is looking like a beast and made some good tackles, and even a goal line clearance.

They're looking good for sure

How is he playing outside of the two goals? Decent partner for Ramires if Frank was to leave? contract runs out 2015

Can't judge really, when at Roma he has Strootman and De Rossi behind him.

We will have one light-weight midfield with him and Ramires - although the latter does tackle like a beast!

Napoli really looked shit in the first half... Roma albeit having to make 2 earlyish changes with Totti (their best player) and Gervinho whos been good, still looked comfortable except for 15 minutes in the second half. Wouldn't say Roma are title contenders but you never know if they keep this run up...

Also Pjanic's freekick was great

I see Pjanic more of 1 of the 3 CMs in a 4-3-3 or the CAM in a 4-2-3-1. Wouldn't exploit his abilities to the fullest if he plays in the pivot.

And speaking of Pjanic, we would have probably gotten him 2 years ago had AVB been appointed earlier than he was and we might not have bought Mata in the end..

And yet Napoli arguably created the two best chances in that first half, if not the game. Had Pandev and/or Insigne not messed up those opportunities, the game would have turned out differently. For all of Roma's good play, they didn't really create too many clear cut openings in front of goal.
