chrismada9 1,948
So they reject 25m pounds and want whole 28. :huh:Santos are trying to sweeze every last million out of us for him, and I don't blame them to be honest
Henrique 9,133
Why doesn't that moron ask for Terry, Lampard and Drogba in exchange for Neymar? He's too greedy and he doesn't care about Neymar's future...He does care. He is a gentleman and a very intelligent person. He believe that its not time to Neymar leave Brazil, only future will prove if he is right.
Cosmin 2,484
Ok, but it looks like Chelsea can make whatever offer and they will reject it. If we won't buy him this summer, i think Santos will sell him next summer to Manure for 15-18m.

He will be at 2014 World Cup, London 2012 Olympics...everyday he only prove that he is worth 28m pounds. Dont forget its still cheaper than Berbatov and Robinho. He's their best player and because of the 3rd party ownership they wont get the full £28m, if they own 60% they'll get about £17m for him. Wonder if we could just give them this £17m and then negotiate a lower price with the other owners?
Term-X 7,891
As much as i want this deal to go through, imagine if we paid 28m and he turned out a flop.. He must play. The club could raise a few million by selling kalou.

If we had signed him years before (which would have been an absolute difficulty), he would have performed better.Neymar is 18 and has a hell of a load of years ahead of him. BlueLion. 21,491
He's the right age to make the transition in my view. Shevchenko was fantastic in Italian football but made the switch a few years too late. His (relatively little amount of) pace had almost totally deserted him when he came over, and he wasn't in the greatest physical condition either. Neymar is young and after only playing professional top flight football for a few years in Brazil he'll be able to make the change quicker. I genuinely believe this kid could be fantastic for us. I'm sure that Ancelotti can make the same thing with Neymar that he made with Pato.Yeah ! sell this one. Like this ,we have money and we gonna make space for Neymar. Swoopz 183
how does the home grown status work? could neymar qualify for it if he joined, since he is only 18?
Badboy 1,526
If we sign this kid it will be a huge gamble, Brazilians are great at making there players look a lot better than what they actually are. On the flip side he is very talented but i just wonder if it could be a few years too early.
LDN Blue 7,903
how does the home grown status work? could neymar qualify for it if he joined, since he is only 18?No, he'd have needed to be with us for 3 years. But he doesn't register as an "offical" player on our list of 25 because he's under 21. They can go unregistered

LDN Blue 7,903
And if we buy him the next year, he will not be a homegrown player, isn't he ?Nope. The rule is "a player under the age of 21 who's trained with that club for 3 years or more.."

Randall 315
I think we'll be alright here. I think it's Santos blowing a load of hot air because they aren't getting the amount they want, while I do think our representatives might of met Neymar's representatives I think any doing so would've involved Santos representatives or been sanctioned by them. I don't think we'd of allowed anything that might call into question our transfer policies. I also think we will probably lodge another bid for him in the coming days that will probably be rejected and then we'll be stubborn and refuse to pay the release clause and we won't get him. Rubber bullets 1,183
I don't think Santos own all the rights to Neymar, I think a sports company and his father also have some of his stakes as representatives - so if Buck was talking to them surly that would make it legal?
