Josh McEachran

Yes but they'd have a player with similar qualities, both players have good long and short passing.

You make a good point about their qualities.

Hopefully McEachran gets the chance to play in La Liga, it can only benefit his development...cause at this stage, not many PL clubs seem interested in giving him a starting role.

The other question is...if Barcelona loan out Jonathan Dos Santos to Sociedad who plays the CM/DM position...will they need McEachran?

A loan deal for Jonathan dos Santos was on the cards when Tito Vilanova was still at Barcelona but now their new manager Gerardo Martino has said he wants to keep him and Real Sociedad have supposedly then turned to McEachran as the alternative. The Chelsea board need to wait and see whether Martino really wants to keep JdS or just see the player train under him before making the decision because Real Sociedad could still get him in the transfer window if Barcelona decided to loan him out after all and it could potentially be Swansea all over again if they got both him and Josh and one of them were to sit on the bench most of the time.

Interesting.

I say go for it.

It might be good for him for play in the Spaniard league. It will fit him well me thinks.

And we already have a couple of player in La Liga as loan.

So keep it up till something horrible goes wrong.

I do hope this goes through. Would be a brilliant loan if he can get regular minutes. Because he won't get regular playing time in the PL and the Championship does not suit him at all. Spain looks to me like the best solution.

I find it ridiculous to assume he wouldn't get playing time in the PL but he would start for a CL club. Real Sociedad would wipe the floor with 60% of the teams in the League lol.

Hope this isn't another Swansea situation where there will be 2/3 starters ahead of him.

It's because the playing style in England is completely different. Most of the teams aside from the top 4 in England still rely on physicality and hoofing the ball up the pitch while Josh thrives on possession football, off the ball movement and quick passing. Josh is technically 10 times better than any midfielder at Stoke or West Ham for example, but he wouldn't get into their team because he can't play their style. And he obviously won't get into the teams of the top 4 teams because they have better options available.

On the other hand, Sociedad, although better than Stoke and West Ham, play fast, free-flowing football. So Josh can get into their lineup because that is exactly his style of play.
