When you hear an album you can recognise right away if it's a classic or not, 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' is definitely a classic. The album is a movie, and quite possibly the greatest accomplishment in rap history, this is HIGH ART. Kendrick Lamar.. dubbed as 'raps saviour' by the wider Hip Hop community HAS delivered.

A short 'film' by Kendrick Lamar... never has an album been more appropriately titled.

90% of rap albums are mere playlists, this is an album.. and more. ’good kid, m.A.A.d city’ has so much depth, it demands close inspection, this is the most expansive project I've ever heard, light years ahead of Section 80. The lyrics themselves are technical masterpieces, full of layered rhythms and meanings. The production is captivating, Kendrick’s lyrical prowess and vivid storytelling come to life like scenes from a movie.

Minor imperfections are dwarfed by it’s excellence, insignificant in the grand scheme of things. When you hear an album you can recognise instantaneously if it's a classic or not, GKMC is unequivocally a classic. In context (the current rap climate) it’s quite possibly the greatest accomplishment in Hip Hop history. Universally critically acclaimed, even the most hardheaded critics are raving about it, case in point.. Anthony Fantano (Needledrop). This album is high art, Kendrick Lamar.. dubbed as 'raps saviour' by the wider Hip Hop community has delivered!, rejoice.

My favorite songs off of G.D.M.C

1.) Sing of me im dying of thirst

2.) Money Trees

3.) mAAd City

i have to say this album,, just puts mainstream hip-hop to shame. This album has been labeled a "classic" by numerous people and that doesnt happen for no reason.

the story-telling, lyrics, beats are just sur-real. still on an emotional high. hahaha

The album is a cinematic masterpiece, which has been applauded and raved about by even the most cynical critics (check out Needledrop's review at the top of this page). It's just one of those mind blowing debuts, once in a lifetime..

I wasn't in LA when game came out but for the 5 year's ive lived in Los Angeles i havn't seen ANY artist get as much love as Kendrick. I'm 100 sure that 20 years later we'll look back at this album and appreciate how a young artist on INTERSCOPE records released a certified classic and did 240.000 in one week without a dumbed down club/pop/bubbelgum song.

King Of The West.

Man, i gota be honest and say my man Meek Millz went half-way on his debut LP "Dreams and Nightmares".

the narrative seems to be same everywhere you look and that was my original thought process that Meek Millz has to do away with the features of Wale, Tray Songz, Drake and especially Rozay,, when he's by himself talking about his Philly Days selling coke and shit he "shines". The picture is clear and vivid and different when compared to the reular mainstream "sex, drugs, and money" which overwhelms mainstream hip-hop. XXL gave it 3 stars and most were around that area couple of 3.5's and such.

the best tracks by far are: "traumatized," "polo and shell tops" " "tony story pt.2" " and "who your around". other than that, im afraid to say.....it just "bumblegum rap" but he did show signs, he did show that he can veer away from mainstream crap, hopefully he goes all the way like K-Dot has (not that he ever did mainstream crap)
