I have to agree with you, I love hip-hop, but T_X continually regarding Nas as "genius" because 5 professors (who aren't even linguist/English professors) say so is retarded.

Not that it discredits the other professors conclusions that is, they are intellectuals first and foremost.

I have further lists of intellectuals/professors who have expressed such views, which I will dig up at a later point. Essentially though, it all comes down to common sense, Which music genre is the most lyrical?.... Hip Hop. Thus, when a 'talented' artist is on a 3/4 minute piece of music, it is far superior intellectually (the technicalities of the lyrics/interpretations) than anything any other music genre can produce.

Intellectuals or not, would you believe a professor of theology if he said that BMW is the best car producers ever? Because I don't think a proffesor of Africana Studies is the best source of knowledge concerning music.

No music genre is more genius or intellectual than another. Im a hip hop and dance music fan and i know a lot of people dont care for those to genres inpaticular, but I appreciate every kind of music because I know you have to be extremely talented to produce something that makes people move or change their emotions, when things are down they can pick up their favourite artist and it will make them feel happier.

He was deaf because 'was' is past tense and past tense is used becuase Beethoven lived and died in the past. And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that Beethonve became deaf in his later years.

I believe Messi is very egotistical but he is just more reserved in front of the media and public unlike Ricardo Kaká who I imagine is one of the nicest people on the planet. Besides the media white washes and sometimes ignores Messi's transgressions.

For instance during the Champions League final at Wembley against ManUtd after Messi scored he ran along and punted the absolute fuck out of a boom mic. Nobody batted and eyelash yet if someone like Ronaldo or Terry did something like that the media would be all over it saying things like "Ronaldo thinks he can do whatever he wants", "Terry has no respect for technology" among other terrible and pointless headlines. My example wasn't the greatest but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
