Manuf 1,448
. Professor James Peterson. Professor Eric Dyson. Professor Sohail Daulatza. Professor Mark Anthony Neal. Professor Eddie Glaude^ All responsible for the book 'born to use mics', in which a rappers lyrics were analysed, and hailed as 'genius'. I don't need to provide links, as all these guys can be researched.. Professor James Peterson - an English proffesor and a director of Africana Studies. Being a proffesor of one language doesn't make you a linguist.. Professor Eric Dyson - proffesor of sociology. Professor Sohail Daulatza - not a proffesor. Professor Mark Anthony Neal - proffesor of of Black Popular Culture. Professor Eddie Glaude - professor of Religion and African American Studiesnow, since we already have those name sorted out: you base your opinion of rap being "the most intellectual and expansive" on one book written by people who are more associated with black movement rather than language studies? because firstly, I don't see an army, nor lingustic proffesor and tbh, i'm not being racist or anything, but reading a piece which is hailing certain thing as "genius", written by people who are involved in African culture is like listening to a priest saying that there is only one true and best religion. Stop being delusional and thinking that everything you say is a fact. Spike, bababoom and Kieran.

Not that it discredits the other professors conclusions that is, they are intellectuals first and foremost.. Professor James Peterson - an English proffesor and a director of Africana Studies. Essentially though, it all comes down to common sense, Which music genre is the most lyrical?.... Hip Hop. Thus, when a 'talented' artist is on a 3/4 minute piece of music, it is far superior intellectually (the technicalities of the lyrics/interpretations) than anything any other music genre can produce. Because I don't think a proffesor of Africana Studies is the best source of knowledge concerning music.Oh, English is the most relevant in music? And that's because? Some other proffesor of Human Behaviour said so? Or are artists in, for example, my country, worse because they don't write in English? Fucking delusional.Ok, I'm still waiting for that army you mentioned.Hip-hop is the most lyrical? Why? Because of rhyming? Have you even heard something other than rap? Do you even have any knowledge of poetry? Spike
Kezza 1,965
No music genre is more genius or intellectual than another. Im a hip hop and dance music fan and i know a lot of people dont care for those to genres inpaticular, but I appreciate every kind of music because I know you have to be extremely talented to produce something that makes people move or change their emotions, when things are down they can pick up their favourite artist and it will make them feel happier. If anyone is a genius its Stevie Wonder.
