I feel sorry for him.

Sometimes he could be a bit of a bully, but he knew when to back off, imo.

He had been active for ~6 years, for me, he was part of the TC family.

A banning is never ever a nice thing, especially at Christmas, it's over the top and not walking along with the brotherly love, imo.

Anyways, i'm already under suspicion of being a moaner so i stop right here.

See how much of a whiner you are. That is the second ban you PM with complaints to the Staff and now you post it public for what reason? If you already reached to us, it has already been counted.

The staff does what it can. Its impossible to please everyone. At the same time we receive PMs of people saying zolayes shouldn't be banned, there are others who reported him every week. He had 55 warning points. FIFTY FIVE! We gave him pass after pass, but a time would always come when it would be his last chance. I know TC rules have changed a bunch since I signed up, but when I first arrived it used to be 3 warnings and you are out...

I know it seems we just sit on our high pedestals strucking the ban/warning hammer, but we do try to listen to both sides before making a decision. From outside looking in it can appear as if we are very tough on our decisions but if you had any idea of how many reports we get, the actual warning by report ratio is absurdly low. I would say for every 10 reports we get only 1 goes to become a warning or something. And that is counting spams. Honestly, if you go by the letter of the "TC Rules", the warning and bans would be much higher. Technically speaking we are anything but tough.

We might fail at times, I agree, but we always make the decision we feel it is best for the forums. Independently if we like said member or not.

Example: I explictly dont like some members (you included), but if I feel they are right, they are right and end of story. Didnt I assure you the allegations you were using different accounts was ridiculous and you shouldnt worry about it? If I wanted to I could have just thrown you under the bus for some sort of childish vendetta. But I always try to do what is right.

PS: I have never given a single warning point btw. Whenever I read a report I feel is justifiable I try to resolve it via PMing both parties. So far, 100% effectiveness. It was always resolved.

I agree with you that sometimes there has to be a punishment after a crime, especially if we are speaking about a severe one.

But i'm against the capital punishment, 'Zolayes' didn't get a termporary ban, it was immediately game over.

He wasn't even given the chance to say goodbye, imo.

Yes, i don't know the history and i have to give your team the benefit of a doubt, maybe there were temporory bans,

but it's sad to kick one out, especially at CHRISTMAS!

We can't reach an agreement, different worlds, imo.

Imo some other members deserves this more than him, he always got good points and it was intresting to listen to his old stories.

I understand Essien19's point of view, this was basically the second home of zolayes.

And I can imagine, as a 80 year old fan, it's one of the best and most comfortable hobby's to chat at home with your Chelsea buddy's.

Zolayes was probably the biggest bully on the forum (also bullied me), so I understand this ban, but at the same time he was also one funny guy and was the ''grumpy grandpa'' of the TC family. Maybe a 2 week ban as final warning was better, but I completely respect the decision of the staff.

@zolayes: if you're reading, you will be missed and we wish you a merry x-mas and a happy new year!

Cantankerous is a word that sums him up perfectly. I think it's a shame he is banned. I know him and FB didn't see eye to eye and it's a shame as I think both are great posters.

It definitely won't be the same and I kinda liked that we had our very own Chelsea Pensioner on the forum.

Then he replied:

Many things changes since that, and now we really got along. I was going to complain, but after reading the Rmpr/Rprm post I won't, since I don't know what was going on, but he definetely will be missed.

Its really sad that members who are pretty active and make decent posts, eventually they will go too far and break the rules.

Admin do not ban people lightly muzchap, believe me.

Think of a thread 10 pages long. Then consider it made up of complaints from other members, some of which left because of abuse, concerning one individual. An individual that failed to heed warnings. Warnings and gentle cajolings so more numerous than any other member would receive, because of his age.

Thats what we were dealing with and why admin had to act the way they did.

I liked Ron but the amount of complaints we had about him when I was a staff member was ridiculous. Was always walking a tight-rope back then and now, as I look at the forum as a member again, it's clear he was quite confrontational and would often try and provoke responses from people.

But anyways people, it used to really bug me when people discussed things like this publicly, so if anyone has any comments on this matter, they should PM the boss to discuss it! But fair play to Raphael for explaining the staff's rationale.

Zolayes was 80 ! fuck. So when opposition fans used to sing ''Have you ever seen Chelsea win the league'' he could say yes he would have been 20 in 1955. He was a prolific poster and I had no problem with him and it's sad that he's banned but I won't comment as I don't know the whole story. I remember the very first thing I participated in when I became a mod (more than 2 years ago!) was a discussion about whether or not to ban zolayes and Sloth (later Kojo)!

I love Ron and its really sad to see the forum lose a legend like him but FIFTY FIVE warning points! Really can't argue about that..
