Ramires

Well you clearly don't understand. Not sure why you keep bringing up Mikel when I'm specifically just talking about Ramires and the role he's given. Imo this role does not suit his strengths. That's really my only point. He's playing like a holder, and he shouldn't imo.

He can't make a single post without bringing up Mikel tbh.

Lets explore this action areas theory a bit more !!

Does anyone not agree that Ramires covers more ground than Mikel in any match? and probably covers twice as much ground?

So do these action areas actually accurately reflect somebody in action or merely where somebody is standing on the pitch?

Could I go and stand in the centre of Choulou's pitch and his graphs would show my action area as being very central :D:D:D .

As you can clearly see that they are both playing at approximately the same depth both against the strong team where we had to defend (utd and liverpool) and the weaker team where we were on the front foot. So no, Ramires is NOT playing more advanced than Mikel usually does. In fact, if there is any major difference to take from these examples it is that, contrary to popular belief, Mikel seems to be moving more around the pitch while Ramires looks too restricted in that central area and around the halfway circle.

Can't get any dumber than that.

Moving more around the pitch can be proved only using distance covered not by these action areas.

First learn about graphs, figures and logical interpretations and then start applying them.

I did not say he runs more, I said he moves more around the pitch meaning he covers more parts of the pitch not that he covers more distance.

And for the last time, stop insulting people.

He does not cover more areas, he just squats around for long periods in different areas.

Seriously, for the last time, watch a chelsea game and then comment.

how was a 2nd yellow. fuck the ref.

but overall another poor performance. even before the red, he was not good. how did he get the wrong side of ribery and let him shoot. the goal was his mistake. the DM role is not for him, specially in big matches.

I'm not having that. Everyone who played tonight deserved to win that fucking trophy. Hes not a DM, hes a box-to-box player but against a team that passes the ball very well for 70 or 80% of the game in your half hes a DM. Also in big games Ramires has fucking got us out of a hole, the Barcelona games for example, he was brilliant, even at RB. The 2-2 game against Spurs, he scored the second goal. Against City under Carlo, he sealed the game with that superb goal when City looked slightly threatening. To say Ramires shouldn't play in MF in big matches is a fucking shocking opinion. No offence. Also if anyone has to get a little bit of stick for the Ribery goal, I'm gonna have to say Cech looked like he could have done better, he won't be pleased but he's made so many MASSIVE saves in big European games so it doesn't matter. Even tonight he made some cracking saves.

He got the ball but then he left his foot in so you can understand the card, not as bad as some were making it out to be, not like he came in two footed. Felt the ref was really inconsistent in the way he was handing out cards though I don't know what half of them were for.

ribery got the corner. you cant blame cech for it.he could have made the stop but it would have been an AMAZING stop. so cech is not to be blamed (at all) or atleast majorly for the goal.

ramires could not have let ribery run at the defence and take a shot like that so easily. ribery was god's sake. i mean a DM has to know his responsibilty and i am sure one of the main things jose would have told lamps and rambo to do was to close both the wingers down quickly. it was not like this was ribery's first half shot. in that he got laid off and it was a first touch shot, here rambo let him cut in and run, which is unaccpetable.
