CHOULO19 24,332
I think Rami's ideal position is CM in 4-3-3. In a double pivot role, however, I have my doubts over him because of his passing skills and his forward runs will make life much difficult for Mikel (the player next to him). Though he has never been tried there so he could prove me wrong. I can't see him at rightback either because he simply doesn't have the experience to play there. I think RDM has a lot to try during pre-season. Blue Armour
Jase 43,479
On the RW or even...(dare I say it?) RB. I dislike him at CM because his technical skills often less a bad taste and he would make life more difficult for his double pivot partner. If he is to be played in the Midfiels I believe a new formation will be necessary, perhaps a return to the 4-3-3 is on the cards? Though Lampard and Mikel did struggle with the 4-3-3 under AVB.But they did just fine under previous managers with the 4-3-3. Problem with AVB's 4-3-3 is that he wanted to play an open expansive attacking football, adopting a high defensive line and press all over the pitch. As long as we avoid playing that again, we will be fine. Just go back to the slightly more conservative Mourinho/Hiddink/Ancelotti's 4-3-3 if you like if we are to use it. capriccioso 2,545
I like the 4-2-3-1 more than 4-3-3. That double screen in front of the defence is great and helps our stability. Naked Mole Rat

Ollie 4,400
Probably the most versatile player we have, such an important player. Can play wide, can play in a line of 3 and can play as one of 2 holding, probably can play RB too. These players are so rare. I think, with his pace i'd use him on the right of the 3 behind the striker if we don't buy someone else. Hazard - Mata - RamiresThe best thing is that those 3 can interchange and all have great pace and technical dribbling ability. Bit lightweight maybe but that's what the 2 behind are for. A nightmare to play against i bet. capriccioso
Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
man i relally worry for Ramires. are we buying a RW, yes no doubt about it, then ramires is pushed to double pivot role primarily and idk how comfortable he is there?luckily its not my problem! but i do feel for him if he is frozen out a bit. quality utility man. Term-X 7,891
>>>We signed him for a whopping £18m, and even now.. I can't see any club paying over £20m for him.Not much of a ROI, which somewhat defeats the purpose.*edit: ROI (return on investment)* capriccioso
Popular Post! Manuf 1,448 Posted July 1, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted July 1, 2012 Just another Makelele case. You would appreciate him if he played in another club, smh. He's one of the most important players in our team. We finally have a worthy no 7. Justin_3d 1,140
Ramires insist the Club World Cup is very important to Brazilians."I grew up seeing the effort of Brazilian clubs put into winning this competition and for me this title would be a dream come true," he said."This is part of our football culture. I came close in 2009 but that was not possible. Now I'll do everything I can to win this title for the first time, it will be very important for my 'CV'."--------------I would like to win it as well. Will be bum out if we can't win it! royg 96
IMO, his passing skills is underrated by many and he will surely be a good fit as CM alongside Lampard or Mikel. But the best position for him will be in a 4-3-3 formation. Stats

Thought he never really favored him and had find silly excuses to drop him before.
Spike 12,049
I hate the fact that he doesn't really have a position. He would work as a B2B player of a 4-3-3 but other than that I can't really put him into FIFA terminology. capriccioso
capriccioso 2,545
He loses the ball too often at centre midfield. That's where we played him when we first signed him and he looked out of sorts then.Either we play a 4-4-1-1/2 allowing him to play as a right midfielder or a wide 4-3-2-1 rather than 4-2-3-1.Obviously the main problem with that is Lampard, he can't play there.Alternatively:

But the best position for him will be in a 4-3-3 formation. That's a joke. His passing is very below average and can be seen in almost every match he partakes in. I don't understand the love TC has for Ramires. He worked out well last season because we were playing counter-attack and he can outrun a lot of people. We're not gonna play like that this season and he's way too overvalued by our fans. TorontoChelsea
capriccioso 2,545
Too much is made of his crossing ability, or lack of it. We've lost our big aerial threat in Drogba, is it really necessary for our wingers to be hitting in 10 crosses a game?

That's where we played him when we first signed him and he looked out of sorts then. That's because he wasn't used to English football yet and needed time to settle. Another position he can play is at RCM, in a 4-4-2 diamond midfield. Used to play there for Benfica IIRC.
