So is it just me or is Van Aanholt's possible Chelsea career over? Development has stalled something awful, might be a case for the left wing but I don't see it especially with Mata, De Bruyne, Hazard and Marin who can all play there and will probably be here for a fair amount of years. Feel slightly sorry for him as he obviously was talented but I think his chances of making it here are non-existent now.

I cringed whenever I saw him for Vitesse. Was usually the worst player on the pitch.

If he was so bad for Vitesse and the fans hate him, why would we put him through that torment again for another year? Get him out of there and onto a new challenge or he'll lose all self confidence and get worse. Whether we have a relationship with them or not, these loans are supposed to help our players, not hinder them.

Must say tho, if he can't hack it for Vitesse, he's gonna find it nearly impossible here and i thought he looked good. Oh well.

Youngsters Tomas Kalas and Patrick van Aanholt have today completed their loan deals returning them to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem for the duration of the 2012/13 campaign.

Both players were temporarily with the Eredivisie side last term. Czech Under 21 international Kalas 19, made 29 league appearances over the course of the season, while Dutchman Van Aanholt, 21, scored once in nine games having also spent time with Wigan Athletic during late 2011.

Before departing for Holland, Kalas also signed a contract extension with Chelsea committing him to the club until the summer of 2017.

With Ryan at the Olympics, it would have made sense to give PVA this pre season to rotate with Cole, atleast then we would have known beyond reasonable doubt if he still had a chance here or not.

He should stay on loan till Cole retires, which is only about 1-2 seasons away with age catching up, which will be a sad day to see him go,

Then he'll be second choice to Bertrand and all will be well.
