He's a talent. IMO he can at least be a valuable squad player here if he develops well enough. Going back a bit but Jack Cork for example, who Chalobah has a higher ceiling than IMO, would make a great squad player here. He's developed quite well as a player and that's allowed him to get to that level. Chalobah could do the same, he's just not being provided with an opportunity here. Here's hoping he does well at Napoli because if he does, the club surely have to give him a role in the squad. He's HG. He's club trained as well (for CL). Please. We have enough talent in midfield with the likes of Chalobah and RLC (as squad players). If we're buying another midfielder let us at least buy a superstar. Blue Colored Sky 1,807
I was so happy when Nat scored that goal. Damn. I always thought he is the most "Chelsea" player of all the players in the Academy. Just because you went through ranks doesn't mean you're so much associated with this club. But Chalobah is, certainly. Shame that for one spot in midfield, assuming Kante is a starter, we have Fabregas, Mikel, Matic, RLC and Oscar. Oscar is gonna be great for us in a 4-2-4 with Kante. Oscar is a really good player when he is being played in the right position and that's CM. Ryan Fong 2,776
Matic better watch out. Chalobah could be a late bloomer... I start losing patience with Matic, still playing like a headless chicken game after game. Clumsy is the most suitable word to describe his performance. dimmas

Clumsy is the most suitable word to describe his performance. Jury's still out for him from me too, but not because of pre season. Because he's dropped form significantly over the last year and a half. Now last season is a bit exacerbated but what concerns me is that his form was declining from the season before. He hasn't had consecutive top seasons yet in his career if I'm not wrong. He had 1 excellent season at Benfica, two halves of excellent seasons here, and the rest of his career has either been distinctively average or bad. Is that Matic we saw an anomaly or not? I guess we'll find some answers this season... OhForAGreavsie, Ryan Fong and The Chels
