ulvhedin 526
Is anyone else guilty of showing little to no interest at all in the progress/loan moves of players whose chances of making it here is close to nil i.e players like Feruz, Mceacheran and unfortunately Chalobah has been added to that list AFAICYep, also dont really care about Feruz, McEachran, Perica, Pasalic, Davilla, Cuevas, Rodriguez - I don't believe they will play any official game in Chelsea shirtChalobah, Piazon and Todd Kane (last one more because I just like him, dont believe he will play here also) are on the edge lionsden
lionsden 4,689
I think we all are to a certain degree. Mario Pasalic for example has been a nailed on starter for Elche all season where he has been moved to a central midfielder role rather than attacking one and has, I read, been doing rather well. But he seems to be completely forgotten by Chelsea fans (and maybe even management?).Too right. kakuta is having a good season in la liga too but not a single word of recognition. I guess it's just human nature.

Yea, i saw a stat that showed Elche haven't won a game in which Pasalic doesn't start, they're like 4-6 with him when he does, so he's obviously naking an impact. But no, most of them won't make it, I also watch Ulises Davila quite a bit.

robdog 2,084
I just realized that Chalobah played the full 90 in Reading's win over Cardiff City today in the FA Cup. I know CFC aren't in the competition any longer but there are some Youth players on loan that have something to play for. Open

Reddish-Blue 2,673
anyone? Chalobah's doing well, he's getting regular minutes at Reading and he's provided something different to their midfield, it's good to see Steve Clarke (former Chelsea assistant) give him a proper chance..I feel bad for him, he's been on so many loan spells...at some point it must get frustrating as a player

If we want to give youth a spot to be Matic backup, I think Chalobah is better than RLC in that role. However, I just want the youth to have his chance here, so either way, I'm happy. zolayes, killer1257 and The Skipper
Bir_CFC 3,455
Chalobah doesn't do enough defensively to warrant a deep midfield role imo. He's got good technical ability and decent size but workrate is lacking imo.If you aren't going to be a deep midfielder who can also break up attacks and defend, then you need to be a CM who can make forward runs and score and assist. He does neither at a high level imo. It's good to see him doing well at Reading but something is off about him.

It's good to see him doing well at Reading but something is off about him. It's your opinion and I respect that but I don't agree.First of all, Chalobah is still the kind of player who needs a couple of straight games to be in his proper conditions. He can be pretty much dogshit when he plays in patches, especially after a long break. While he hit the ground running he's completely different player. I don't think that he lacks the ability of breaking attacks. After all he played the centre-back position for majority of the youth games. When I saw him at Watford he was very good all-around player. Also Zola, who worked with him closely for a season said that he thinks that his best position will be 6.I assume that when you've watched him, you probably saw the one who was low on confidence either in Burnley or Nottingham.Unfortunately, I don't have data to add and we should have his distance ground cover to say if he has good workrate. But I liked what I saw at Watford and at U19s & U21s for England.I think he has to start to have better environment around him to quicken his development. I truly believe, no, I'm 99% sure that he would be the one playing against Arsenal now and be praised for that if he had a chance in very good club early in his career like Kongdobia had in Sevilla. I don't see a much of a difference in potential between the two to be honest. killer1257, Chelsea Legend 11, Bir_CFC and 2 others

CurlyHairLikeLuiz 1,625
If we sell Moses to Stoke imo that'd be a good loan team for him next season. Then we'll see what his first team future looks like, pending Koke, RLC, Mikel, and Ramires' futures. Because this lad could easily replace both Ramires and Mikel.
