Pizy 18,918
Nicolas Jackson straight up cost us the 3 points today. Through 1 on 1 with the keeper about 5 times and fluffed his lines every single time. I just do not understand how we go from comfortable and dominant for most of the first half to looking completely out of ideas and dead on our feet the second half. With the form of everyone around us compared to ours I don’t feel confident at all anymore that we’ll finish in the top 4. Which a month ago seemed impossible. Milan 17,958
all rivals behind winning their matches so we could easily be down to 8th or whatever after next game how lovely Laylabelle and Vesper
calculatingInfinity 1,472
Poor poor match. But nice to see Acheampong start and do a fairly good job. Looked a lot better than both Tosin and Disasi. Hope to see more of him. 12 minutes ago, whats happening said: maresca again with no subs. does he not realize that our players get tired? no wonder we always concede a late goal Of course he does. I am sure got analysts telling him exactly that. But he probably thinks the alternatives are too poor in many positions, and I dont entirely disagee. DH1988 1,348
Id like to say that one of those matches we've fluffed were a needed wake up call but nothing has changed what so ever. We also should have had a penalty but the team looks so lost right now.

NJ definitely should have done better, but ignoring what Cole did is nonsensical. He threw the game, plain and simple. Given what a great player he is, we should obviously forgive him and move on but to then instead fully blame another person I just cannot understand. City were in some 'crisis' they're 2 behind! Arsenal were in a 'crisis' or panic when losing Saka. They can go 6 clear. Newcastle one behind...mad how this has changed in the space of 4 games. And no signs of a break from it really

Milan 17,958
the worst thing was the hope and the high expectations suddenly, right before the title talk we should have started with this crisis, back in August, I don't like it right now NikkiCFC

Not great tho. not sure about James… he seems made of glass. Only having Jackson for 9 is an issue when he’s not been finding the net like now. Guiu won’t deliver at this level at least not now. We should’ve had 3-4 goals before Palace even had the chance to equalize. Jackson scores ANY of the myriad chances where he’s 1 on 1 with the keeper and Palace’s fight and enthusiasm is killed dead. And it’s not even like he’s forcing the keeper into brilliant saves with these chances. He’s missing the fucking target completely! He is NOT a Chelsea level main #9, simple as that. If Isak or Haaland or Osimhen had those chances today that Nico had they’d have a hat trick.

Agreed that it was too risky a move against 2 players, but unsure he’s not allowed to try to pull that off. Felt the d line should’ve done better tho. They should’ve known we were not out of the woods yet and stayed deeper for a bit longer. we can’t be always a midfield dispossession from conceding a goal. Jackson played well with the ball at his feet and also high pressing really well, but was also really not nearly prolific enough in front of the goal. Out of form strikers isn’t anything super surprising — having no viable option at this level not so much. players like Isaak take away from the team compared to Jackson tho. It’s a tradeoff not a win/win. Edited January 4 by robsblubot
