Southampton 1-5 Chelsea

I'm hoping Badi gets the start over Tosin.

I've been impressed with his last two performances. Super composed on the ball and looks solid defensively.

Like a lot of our players - I think some were quick to judge and he is actually beginning to turn things around. Could be wrong, but this is the time to prove himself.

saints to this game are without 3 main starters, right?

Several. Dibling, Harwood-Bellis and Ramsdale are their key players out but other regulars such as Downes, Bednarek. People who would have started or started in other players absences such as Smallbone, Lallana. Onuaucu, not clear if he is fit for this as he was very good against Liverpool before coming off injured. Although Liverpool won that game, Southampton played well and all their goals conceded was self-inflicted errors. So we cannot be complacent.

Think/hope team will be something like this:

Sanchez

Gusto Badiashile/Tosin Colwill Cucu

Caicedo Enzo

Madueke Palmer Neto

 Nkunku

Put it this way, if our attacking talent decides to put in the effort in the final third...it should be a good win.

If we turn up complacent and let them get any half chances, could easily be a frustrating 1-1 draw.

This but I'd rest Neto and play Felix.

It's quite unreal that this bloke keeps getting these big gigs time after time. Look, my son is 18 now and about to be promoted to a level 4 referee, which he will be officiating Northern League games as of the new year and I take a lot of time to watch referee's, their performances and analyse their every move especially after our games, and so does my son.

What I can't get my head around is there are some brilliant refs in the Championship that could easily step up to the PL and displace people like Taylor. There are some very good officials in the PL, Andy Madley for one is really good and who I rate massively.  The problem we have is that Mr Coote has now left the building so they are now a body short

Rotate Neto and Sancho for this one and rest them for Spuds. Perhaps start Cole on the bench and bring him on if needed. Other than that I’d start our strongest midfield and defense again. We have to win these games against sides we’re massively superior to.

The likes of Felix & Nkunku are perfect to rotate in here and will be desperate to show they should be starting more often in the league.

Well it could just be that Badi got made to look bad by Disaster when he came back from a bad injury in a team that was wide open to the counter with Poch's tactics.

Tbf to the Badi, he looked good when he first came in. It could just be his injury took a bit of time to recover, Poch's tactics didn't suit him and then Disaster dragged him down which wouldn't be that much of a surprise when we think about the level of that guy.

That said, he will need to take his chance this time around. All we need from him for the next month or so is mistake free football. If he does that then he good for a squad position as I suspect we go for a RCB in Jan/Summer.

As for this game, Soton have picked up some form. They were a ref not giving them a deserved pen away from beating the Dippers and had the better of Brighton in their last game away. Luckily they have a few suspensions and injuries but this is the exact type of game Poch last season would've slept walked us into a draw.
