Rodri, Walker, Stones and Foden going into this with zero pre season minutes. KDB and Silva without a start. I expect us to use this circumstances and get 3 points.

Add now Bobb and Grealish injured and Alvarez also left. Anything less than a win would be huge disappointment.

Had we not changed manager, system/formation and half the team, I'd agree with you.

They are just too much of a well-oiled machine to be taken for granted. Grealish has hardly played given that Doku is twice the player... and who the fuck is Bobb? 😆

With that said, it's still a good time to play them--better if it was an away match too.

come on m8

they are still loaded AF even without those 3

and they have one of the two best managers (along with King Carlo) on the planet (and this is Pep's last year at Citeh so you know he is going to go all out)

Ederson
Rúben Dias
Manuel Akanji
Nathan Aké
John Stones
Josko Gvardiol
Rico Lewis
João Cancelo
Kyle Walker
Rodri
Matheus Nunes
Mateo Kovacic
Bernardo Silva
Kevin De Bruyne
Jérémy Doku
Phil Foden
Savinho
Erling Håland

plus they will add more before this window ends

All I want to see is for us to show some proper balls and play like we belong on the same pitch as them. Don’t take the pitch and be overwhelmed from minute 1. We have more than enough quality to cause them all sorts of problems if we play with confidence.

There you have it. Straight from the horse's mouth.

Enzo Maresca admits Chelsea are NOT eyeing Champions League qualification this season - as he reveals what target the club's hierarchy have given him

I wish him and the club the best of luck, but I'll always question whether a top 4 team like Chelsea had to go backwards for more than 3 seasons back to back, to become a competitive team again.

Also, another season outside the Champions league can't be good for the revenue, especially when the match earnings are constrained. Tougher to attract sponsors and negotiate good deals, if you're not playing in the top competitions for so long.

My mind is kind of blanking right now. If Rodri is out and Kalvin Phillips is now off to Ipswich, I can’t even remember who is in their CM. What’s his face they bought from Wolves and KdB gonna play in CM against us, then?

Kovacic apparently been adapting his game to playing a more sitting role this pre-season. Mentioned it in an interview, doing a lot of video analysis and stuff with Pep/coaching staff.

Kalvin Phillips is poor at that sort of level anyway, should never have left Leeds.

CL qualification not this seasons target? What was all that utter bullshit that apparently the club/directors/owners felt the squad was a CL level squad last season? These guys are unreal. Honestly. Morons to say the least.

Makes sense. It takes time to make all these footballers learn to play Baseball well enough. It is evidently a multi-year project.

Manchester City

  • Pep Guardiola: “We hope to see Oscar Bobb back in three or four months. It was in the training session, and unfortunately had a big impact on his injury. I think he will have surgery in the afternoon.”

  • Pep Guardiola: “João Cancelo to re-join our squad? It can happen, yes. He's training with us. We will see. Maybe he stays, maybe he goes on loan, maybe... I don't know yet. He’s training with us, behaving really well in the training sessions.”

  • Rodri will miss the Chelsea vs Man City game, Pep Guardiola has confirmed. “He had zero training sessions with us, he’s not ready.”

  • Pep Guardiola denies reports on Claudio Echeverri is joining Man City earlier than planned after the Bobb injury. “No idea about that. I didn't talk with Txiki about Claudio Echeverri.”

  • Pep Guardiola on Enzo Maresca: “My advice: give him time. If they, the owners of Chelsea, accept my advice - give Enzo time - it will work. All the managers need time. I don't know if Chelsea is the place to do this, but give him time and he will work.”

  • Manchester City reach agreement with West Ham for £1.2m compensation to sign 19 year old Divin Mubama — here we go! Medical tests booked and Divin will sign a long term deal, strategic deal from Man City. Exclusive story, confirmed.
